Hey, Pea, there is one thing I often wonder when I watch your videos. What is considered "the province" in The Philippines? Is it everywhere but the largest cities, or is it the truly rural areas? Maybe somewhere in between?

After seven years of marriage my wife and I have yet to ever go to a bar. We’ve been to karaoke though and a disco for dancing but not to a bar. We met at the food court at the local mall for the first time after courting online for several months first.

Yes it's worth it, I visited my province girl in February and it was amazing with her and the family. They are the most polite, caring and loving. Showing respect goes a long way there :)
I'm going to marry a filipina from a province. She is wonderful and we share a lot of the same values. She is very down to earth. Meeting the family is an important milestone in building a relationship with a province girl. She will probably give you hints to help you, but as someone who has survived the interview process firsthand, don't forget the pasalubong! (gifts) My experience with speaking Tagalog to locals is that first they are shocked, and then they immediately assume/ask if I have a Filipina wife/gf already. Personally, I would avoid starting any conversation in Tagalog while meeting someone new, to avoid them drawing conclusions that might not be favorable. Let her teach you some Tagalog words and phrases, which seems just as romantic in my book.

Love this Ate Pea! I'm from Batangas City, and even though it's a city (and just a few hours away from Manila) it's still very provincial. It took me more than a month to agree with talking on voice call, and almost 3 months on video call. Before that though, we have been chatting like crazy almost every day. I used to work from home on night shift so our schedules aligned. We chatted pretty much the whole day (minus the times he had been driving). People would probably think we're crazy but we found our best friends in each other. We love talking about different topics - even deep or dark topics (from dating history to world wars to crypto and to painful memories). We haven't really changed. We still talk a lot and don't shy away from any topic. It helps that we're both introverts, homebodies, and Christians, and we also don't drink nor smoke. Honestly we like the same stuff, and we also enjoy the new stuff we introduced to each other (he introduced Star Wars to me and I introduced mobile gaming to him 😂). It took us more than a year to gather the courage and finally meet in person. He's also only 2 years older than me, so he's still starting to build his savings. I wanted to make sure he won't be broke after buying tickets and booking our Airbnb's. 😂 Anyways him meeting my mom and brother was fun. Mom was too shy to speak English, but even so, she didn't hesitate interviewing him. As you might have guessed I was the translator. 😅 She asked him things like, "What are your plans for my daughter?" "When are you coming back?" "Why can't you just marry her here in the Philippines?" "Oh then just have another wedding here after your wedding there!" 😂 I had to tell her that my dream wedding is different from hers. If most Filipinos like having a grand wedding, I prefer the opposite. I just want immediate family on my wedding day. I'm glad my fiancé is the same. It's gonna be 1 year this August since we passed our K1 visa application so we're hoping to get married by next year. I also would like to point out that contrary to what western people (or the women?) think, most traditional Filipinas like me prefer staying in my home country. But the man I chose to be with for life isn't at retirement age yet, so I go wherever he is as I'm sure I will still be happy wherever it is. ❤
I've dated a provincial girl, and I am now dating a city girl. If the provincial girl is not to sheltered, meaning does have an understanding of the basic principles of communication, then I would say, yes. I see it as that they talk in code. General references that are way over anyone else’s head but make perfect sense to them. And each different tribe have their own code. So either get used to the code or don’t bother because it’s a lot easier for you to get into their’s then for them to get into your set of understanding. My wife does this with me and I don’t know what she’s talking about. Yet she does it with her siblings and they never have a problem figuring out what each other are talking about. And that’s while they’re all talking in English even.

An observation, it’s difficult to look at another language, and pronounce the words correctly, because we will tend to pronounce phonetically! Could you write out the phonetic versions of these great phrases for us? Are the phrases Tagalog or ? Can’t wait to explore your beautiful islands! I took your advice and have deleted all dating apps. My first experience dating abroad was penpal newspapers in the early 80’s. Then in chat servers before internet, and finally online. I’ve been to several countries, but find the online dates have no chemistry when we have met, even domestically. So, chemistry and genuine friendship are what I search for! Filipino parents don’t mind a direct question asking honorably for their approval to date their daughter. I was pretty nervous and did it online before traveling there. We had already become serious online dating so I told them my intention is to marry her. They accepted me and asked that I take good care of their daughter which I promised I would.

I think if you have an old fashioned approach then it will work quite well. Walk over to her and compliment her on her dress, her hair, her necklace etc. This opens up a conversation on something that isn't directly about her and starts a conversation. If she mentions a boyfriend or husband in the first minute of conversation she isn't interested😁

I was very dark out and as I was running through the backyard I fell right into an open cesspool. Needless to say my parents immediately threw me into the shower. I'd say so yes, I've got no problem with a woman of any nationality so long as their not irrational or angry for no reason. Trust me, lots of ladies in the states are WAAAY to combative while saying they aren't submissive. That's not what I want, I just want someone to like me for me. Yeah, i get angry sure but I get mad towards the person or entity that causes it. I don't lash out even remotely.
you definitely have to be careful! I just ended a 1.5 year relationship with a filipina as i started to see warning signs in her behaviour. The way she handled conflict the way she did alot of things. We were in the process of getting the fiance visa which i've now cancelled. I learned alot from the process though and learned what to watch out for now better. Like dating western women there's definitely a learning curve.
I always noticed of the woman who came to Canada as nannies to work and earn their way into citizenship is that a lot of them did it to get away from the traditions of back home. The first Filipina I dated was hiding me and I thought it’s because she was doing something bad or she was ashamed to me. But it was really about her not wanting her family to interfere and be so critical and judgemental.

I'd agree to pledge loyalty to a traditional Filipina in a heartbeat, under these simple conditions: I see none of the usual red flags, we have chemistry as a duo, she respects my boundaries, her family isn't pushy when it comes to money funding and I get along well with them. It wouldn't bother me to live in the countryside, my mother's birthplace is pretty much the Portuguese equivalent to a Philippines provincial village and I go there almost every summer...

Some sounds/language are universal. Back in the very early 2000s when I was dating a girl in Vietnam, I learned the phrase Anh yêu em búp bê. "I Love You BabyDoll". She prefered "Anh yêu em BabyDoll". Mixed Vietnamese and English together. Maybe because my Vietnamese accent was far from perfect, but it seemed the English version sound was more soothing and appealing.

Yes, it's definitely worth it. And it's not a hassle. It's refreshing to find a traditional woman, beautiful, sweet, not run-through and can climb a coconut tree in 5 seconds. Very different and takes more work and communication but soooooooo worth it for the right one.

I remember my 1st time meeting my wife’s sibling/ family/ friends. I desired to speak in Tagalog , “ Ang saya ko na makilala ka”! They all laughed at my accent, of course, but also the unnecessary attempt to speak what they referred to as “ deep” Tagalog. And , btw, this was in New Jersey 🥵😳😀
Those same techniques can and should be used worldwide. Even in America. I was raised with those standards in America. And they still hold true to those who know the difference. It doesn't matter what country it is. Respect.

Well ,well, Yor right again 💯, 80 percent of the country girl are very good girls, i been spending time in nothern and Eastern Samra . But what is lacking is being albe to talk about anything past there little spot. Ask them there opinions on most thngs they dont have a clue. My wife family from there, and her family and town. I have to talk less. , most of the conversation is what they plan on eatting that day. This is such a wonderful video bringing up our real traditional courtship and letting the foreigners learn more of our cultural way. You are a blessing for the interracial couples that has questions by teaching them a whole lot of our cultures and traditions. Westerners come expect things and almost try to look for their western ways into the Pinays that they don't even take time to learn the dating culture but like you said it is rewarding and all worth it.

Great Information Pea: I think this video has more replay value than the average great video you've done. Teaching phrases that can be of use to foreigners will prove useful before leaving the west for the Philippines, on the airplane during the flight as a refresher, and occasionally just before going out to the park to talk to the Filipina of their desires. I also think this video will bring more members to your Patreon page where the extra content is not just a great deal, but the community of members that you can make friends with is incredible. If I were to serenade a Filipina at night under her window, yeah I would be the talk of the town alright, and that talk would be "What the hell was that racket last night? Was it a cat fighting with a wild pig or something. I just hope it never happens again!"
I don't know Pea that's a lot of stuff to learn, might have to replay this video 1000 times and test it out with my friends just to make sure I say things correctly and I only have to do it close to my house. Anyway I do enjoy learning different languages even if it's just hello, how are you doing? One time in Church I had different people going up to a couple from Poland saying hello. Of course they though I was playing a joke but those who did it and there were several the Polish Couple wanted to know how they knew that then they pointed to me. Of course, I knew this because I had people from Poland who worked for me. At work I work with a ton of Asian customers so a simple hello goes along way. Best part is when I answer the phone in Chinese as the company, I work for has many many Chinese people, anyway it throws them off so much they forget who they called and then they start speaking Chinese and I have to tell them my Chinese is so-so or mǎmǎhūhū and it's then they realize who they are talking too. Of course, if you don't use a learned language you forget it, when I was younger I knew French and some Greek buy not so much today. I just know even if know a little it can take you a long way but too much and you can end up married which is what Spanish did for me and I still get in trouble with the Latina's. These days I just keep to myself.

This was a great video, I had to watch it twice to take notes, I've learned quite a bit about the Filipino culture because it's where I want to retire and have decided that a traditional Filipina from one of the province's is what I'm looking for so I knew that I would have to get her parents approval first and knowing more about that process and knowing some things to say in her language is definitely a plus thank you
I truly love how you're trying to teach foreigners to speak Filipino phrases and to speak them slowly, and I know it's supposed to be an easy language to learn, but I'm very fortunate in the girl that I met because of another friend I had over there, she's a province girl from down by Cebu, Occidental Mis Amores or something of that nature oh, it's not miss amorous, it's the Occidental place Northwest of Cebu. She has her own pigs and she has property with cows and a four generation family and they all speak English, thank the good Lord. Now I know a few phrases and Filipino or tagalo or whatever you want to call it, but I'm not going to learn the language, because they speak very good English, I will let them teach me a little here a little there, but it's not my plan to learn to speak Filipino. But I do give you a lot of credit you are a very smart girl oh, and a very beautiful girl with one hell of a head on your shoulders a lot of common sense and you speak the truth about all situations over there to the best of your ability. So thank you very much timer for all you do for the people of the Philippines and the people that are coming to the Philippines to find a more traditional woman.

I guess this type of courtship relies on people knowing each other for years as they grew up or something. It seems like quite a bit of trouble to go through only to learn that you're an outdoors lover and the girl wants to stay inside and watch movies all day. There has to be a way for a foreign guy to get to know the girl a little before meeting her father at the interrogation. Maybe a 30 min conversation over coffee?
I'm currently in a relationship with a city girl who still maintains a charming, provincial perspective on romance. I plan on marrying her, as I've never felt this certain about someone before. Despite her accomplishments and adapting to city life, she worries about being too unsophisticated and poor for me. But every day, I wake up feeling incredibly grateful that fate brought us together. There are countless activities and interests to share, so finding a partner with some overlapping interests is natural. However, expecting someone to be an exact replica of ourselves is unrealistic. When my girlfriend expresses concerns about her career not being able to contribute to our life, I reassure her that her beautiful heart, family values, and faith in moral order are the most significant contributions she can offer. Initially, I perceived Filipino dating to be old-fashioned and reminiscent of high school, but I've come to appreciate its genuine sweetness and sincerity. There's nothing wrong with being upfront about wanting a loving relationship built on faith and commitment. Comparatively, the modern Western approach to dating - casually having fun and seeing where it goes - seems shallow and absurd. Imagine applying this mindset to building a house, pursuing a degree, or advancing in a career. While some may prefer to navigate relationships like an adventurous movie character, in reality, that approach often leads to failure.

And it is so true, speaking some of the Philippine language is epic, however, there are so many different dialects, how do you know which one to learn. I would love to learn the language, my daughter in-law has tried to help alittle, but the language seems too fast for me to understand when they talk. But you make it sound so easy. This information is very interesting. The courtship rituals you described including the order of steps how to do it right strongly resemble the courtship rituals of Germany but roughly 70-80 years ago. If I compare that to how my parents described their courtship it was nearly a 1-1 transcript. 😊
Yesss Pee, yessss, you always have to tell foreigners that they should first talk to the girl's parents as a sign of respect. I noticed that many foreigners go to the Philippines and interact with girls as if they were in their own country, without responsibility or commitment. This is very bad for the girl and her traditional behavior.

I learn one of my first words in Tagalog as being mahal. It was easy to remember because I love watching wrestling and one of the wrestlers name in WWE is Jinder Mahal. I do recognize some of the words of your language because the language of Tagalog and Spanish are a little bit similar where they borrow words from each other, at least some of the words that I recognize in Spanish.
Before the Americans took power there in the late 1800s, Spain ran the place. Before that in the middle ages, it was the Arabs. So Spanish and to a lesser degree Arabic are imbedded into the local languages. Arab culture is also where Filipinos got a tradition of circumcision, which is NOT Catholic.

Something my wife (from Cebu and a 50ish yo woman) has noticed and commented to me about is the westernization of the younger Filipina women even though they have never visited the west. All ,or so it seems, are looking for a walking bank account over a good man. Nobody wants to live poor but living lavishly without bringing anything other than cuteness to a relationship is unreasonable.
This is VERY good advice. Here’s a tip from me if you are looking to find a partner from the provinces. Get to know the Filipino community in your home town. My bosses wife set my brother up with a lady from her home barangay. His wife introduced me to my wife. Its all about family. BTW it was made very clear to me how I should behave before we were married.

Meeting the family is an important milestone in building a relationship with a province girl. She will probably give you hints to help you, but as someone who has survived the interview process firsthand, don't forget the pasalubong! (gifts) My experience with speaking Tagalog to locals is that first they are shocked, and then they immediately assume/ask if I have a Filipina wife/gf already. Personally, I would avoid starting any conversation in Tagalog while meeting someone new, to avoid them drawing conclusions that might not be favorable. Let her teach you some Tagalog words and phrases, which seems just as romantic in my book.

Love this Ate Pea! I'm from Batangas City, and even though it's a city (and just a few hours away from Manila) it's still very provincial. It took me more than a month to agree with talking on voice call, and almost 3 months on video call. Before that though, we have been chatting like crazy almost every day. I used to work from home on night shift so our schedules aligned. We chatted pretty much the whole day (minus the times he had been driving). People would probably think we're crazy but we found our best friends in each other. We love talking about different topics - even deep or dark topics (from dating history to world wars to crypto and to painful memories). We haven't really changed. We still talk a lot and don't shy away from any topic. It helps that we're both introverts, homebodies, and Christians, and we also don't drink nor smoke. Honestly we like the same stuff, and we also enjoy the new stuff we introduced to each other (he introduced Star Wars to me and I introduced mobile gaming to him 😂).
It took us more than a year to gather the courage and finally meet in person. He's also only 2 years older than me, so he's still starting to build his savings. I wanted to make sure he won't be broke after buying tickets and booking our Airbnb's. 😂 Anyways him meeting my mom and brother was fun. Mom was too shy to speak English, but even so, she didn't hesitate interviewing him. As you might have guessed I was the translator. 😅 She asked him things like, "What are your plans for my daughter?" "When are you coming back?" "Why can't you just marry her here in the Philippines?" "Oh then just have another wedding here after your wedding there!" 😂 I had to tell her that my dream wedding is different from hers. If most Filipinos like having a grand wedding, I prefer the opposite. I just want immediate family on my wedding day. I'm glad my fiancé is the same. It's gonna be 1 year this August since we passed our K1 visa application so we're hoping to get married by next year.
I also would like to point out that contrary to what western people (or the women?) think, most traditional Filipinas like me prefer staying in my home country. But the man I chose to be with for life isn't at retirement age yet, so I go wherever he is as I'm sure I will still be happy wherever it is. ❤

I see it as that they talk in code. General references that are way over anyone else’s head but make perfect sense to them. And each different tribe have their own code. So either get used to the code or don’t bother because it’s a lot easier for you to get into their’s then for them to get into your set of understanding. My wife does this with me and I don’t know what she’s talking about. Yet she does it with her siblings and they never have a problem figuring out what each other are talking about. And that’s while they’re all talking in English even.

Filipino parents don’t mind a direct question asking honorably for their approval to date their daughter. I was pretty nervous and did it online before traveling there. We had already become serious online dating so I told them my intention is to marry her. They accepted me and asked that I take good care of their daughter which I promised I would.

Walk over to her and compliment her on her dress, her hair, her necklace etc. This opens up a conversation on something that isn't directly about her and starts a conversation. If she mentions a boyfriend or husband in the first minute of conversation she isn't interested😁

I was very dark out and as I was running through the backyard I fell right into an open cesspool. Needless to say my parents immediately threw me into the shower. you definitely have to be careful! I just ended a 1.5 year relationship with a filipina as i started to see warning signs in her behaviour. The way she handled conflict the way she did alot of things. We were in the process of getting the fiance visa which i've now cancelled. I learned alot from the process though and learned what to watch out for now better. Like dating western women there's definitely a learning curve.

I always noticed of the woman who came to Canada as nannies to work and earn their way into citizenship is that a lot of them did it to get away from the traditions of back home. The first Filipina I dated was hiding me and I thought it’s because she was doing something bad or she was ashamed to me. But it was really about her not wanting her family to interfere and be so critical and judgemental.

Some sounds/language are universal. Back in the very early 2000s when I was dating a girl in Vietnam, I learned the phrase Anh yêu em búp bê. "I Love You BabyDoll". She prefered "Anh yêu em BabyDoll". Mixed Vietnamese and English together. Maybe because my Vietnamese accent was far from perfect, but it seemed the English version sound was more soothing and appealing.

Yes, it's definitely worth it. And it's not a hassle. It's refreshing to find a traditional woman, beautiful, sweet, not run-through and can climb a coconut tree in 5 seconds. Very different and takes more work and communication but soooooooo worth it for the right one.

This is such a wonderful video bringing up our real traditional courtship and letting the foreigners learn more of our cultural way. You are a blessing for the interracial couples that has questions by teaching them a whole lot of our cultures and traditions. Westerners come expect things and almost try to look for their western ways into the Pinays that they don't even take time to learn the dating culture but like you said it is rewarding and all worth it.

I think this video has more replay value than the average great video you've done. Teaching phrases that can be of use to foreigners will prove useful before leaving the west for the Philippines, on the airplane during the flight as a refresher, and occasionally just before going out to the park to talk to the Filipina of their desires.

I don't know Pea that's a lot of stuff to learn, might have to replay this video 1000 times and test it out with my friends just to make sure I say things correctly and I only have to do it close to my house. Anyway I do enjoy learning different languages even if it's just hello, how are you doing? One time in Church I had different people going up to a couple from Poland saying hello. Of course they though I was playing a joke but those who did it and there were several the Polish Couple wanted to know how they knew that then they pointed to me. Of course, I knew this because I had people from Poland who worked for me. At work I work with a ton of Asian customers so a simple hello goes along way. Best part is when I answer the phone in Chinese as the company, I work for has many many Chinese people, anyway it throws them off so much they forget who they called and then they start speaking Chinese and I have to tell them my Chinese is so-so or mǎmǎhūhū and it's then they realize who they are talking too. Of course, if you don't use a learned language you forget it, when I was younger I knew French and some Greek buy not so much today. I just know even if know a little it can take you a long way but too much and you can end up married which is what Spanish did for me and I still get in trouble with the Latina's. These days I just keep to myself.

This was a great video, I had to watch it twice to take notes, I've learned quite a bit about the Filipino culture because it's where I want to retire and have decided that a traditional Filipina from one of the province's is what I'm looking for so I knew that I would have to get her parents approval first and knowing more about that process and knowing some things to say in her language is definitely a plus thank you
I truly love how you're trying to teach foreigners to speak Filipino phrases and to speak them slowly, and I know it's supposed to be an easy language to learn, but I'm very fortunate in the girl that I met because of another friend I had over there, she's a province girl from down by Cebu, Occidental Mis Amores or something of that nature oh, it's not miss amorous, it's the Occidental place Northwest of Cebu. She has her own pigs and she has property with cows and a four generation family and they all speak English, thank the good Lord. Now I know a few phrases and Filipino or tagalo or whatever you want to call it, but I'm not going to learn the language, because they speak very good English, I will let them teach me a little here a little there, but it's not my plan to learn to speak Filipino. But I do give you a lot of credit you are a very smart girl oh, and a very beautiful girl with one hell of a head on your shoulders a lot of common sense and you speak the truth about all situations over there to the best of your ability. So thank you very much timer for all you do for the people of the Philippines and the people that are coming to the Philippines to find a more traditional woman.

Provincial woman is an unsophisticated but most of them are a best woman and very successful in career, a well-educated.But what you'd said was happened in past years , this generation has changed a lot.Before "Harana" which was the tradition of a Filipino folks , the way of courting a woman.It's good that you give an informative insight those foreigners seeking a rustic woman so that by the time comes, they have an idea how to court a Filipina....you're indeed right it's legendary in our village if a man can do harana or serenade we love bringing back our history in the past into present as a true Filipina.This time a lot of changes because of social situations it rarely to be happened even a rustic woman here in my province.It's totally dead in the present but we love to get back that kind of tradition we had before.Provincial woman if they have foreigner, they are not giving hard times it might be no serenade but it will make sure that as long as a foreigner willing to entertain the parents, they can go for it, as province girl we highly appreciate a man that willing to come our house and then ask permission to our parents.There is no harana anyway😅

I guess this type of courtship relies on people knowing each other for years as they grew up or something. It seems like quite a bit of trouble to go through only to learn that you're an outdoors lover and the girl wants to stay inside and watch movies all day. There has to be a way for a foreign guy to get to know the girl a little before meeting her father at the interrogation. Maybe a 30 min conversation over coffee?
I'm currently in a relationship with a city girl who still maintains a charming, provincial perspective on romance. I plan on marrying her, as I've never felt this certain about someone before.
Despite her accomplishments and adapting to city life, she worries about being too unsophisticated and poor for me. But every day, I wake up feeling incredibly grateful that fate brought us together. She's the most extraordinary person I've ever known, and I can overlook her occasional jealousy, which I would typically find bothersome in others. In the West, we're often preoccupied with finding someone whose schedule, interests, education, and hobbies perfectly align with ours - an approach that often leads to disappointment.
Many of the things we seek in a partner are either circumstantial or can be developed over time. There are countless activities and interests to share, so finding a partner with some overlapping interests is natural. However, expecting someone to be an exact replica of ourselves is unrealistic.
When my girlfriend expresses concerns about her career not being able to contribute to our life, I reassure her that her beautiful heart, family values, and faith in moral order are the most significant contributions she can offer.
Initially, I perceived Filipino dating to be old-fashioned and reminiscent of high school, but I've come to appreciate its genuine sweetness and sincerity. There's nothing wrong with being upfront about wanting a loving relationship built on faith and commitment.
Comparatively, the modern Western approach to dating - casually having fun and seeing where it goes - seems shallow and absurd. Imagine applying this mindset to building a house, pursuing a degree, or advancing in a career. While some may prefer to navigate relationships like an adventurous movie character, in reality, that approach often leads to failure.

And it is so true, speaking some of the Philippine language is epic, however, there are so many different dialects, how do you know which one to learn. I would love to learn the language, my daughter in-law has tried to help alittle, but the language seems too fast for me to understand when they talk. But you make it sound so easy. Umm, at the end, the guy who left the pile of wood, that was me, hahaha.

This information is very interesting. The courtship rituals you described including the order of steps how to do it right strongly resemble the courtship rituals of Germany but roughly 70-80 years ago. If I compare that to how my parents described their courtship it was nearly a 1-1 transcript. 😊

Yesss Pee, yessss, you always have to tell foreigners that they should first talk to the girl's parents as a sign of respect. I noticed that many foreigners go to the Philippines and interact with girls as if they were in their own country, without responsibility or commitment. This is very bad for the girl and her traditional behavior.

I learn one of my first words in Tagalog as being mahal. It was easy to remember because I love watching wrestling and one of the wrestlers name in WWE is Jinder Mahal. I do recognize some of the words of your language because the language of Tagalog and Spanish are a little bit similar where they borrow words from each other, at least some of the words that I recognize in Spanish.

Yes, I notice many Tagalog words that are similar to Spanish, like gwapa, anyo, estado, semana, trabaho, problema,
pelikula, libro etc.
Before the Americans took power there in the late 1800s, Spain ran the place. Before that in the middle ages, it was the Arabs. So Spanish and to a lesser degree Arabic are imbedded into the local languages.
Arab culture is also where Filipinos got a tradition of circumcision, which is NOT Catholic.

Something my wife (from Cebu and a 50ish yo woman) has noticed and commented to me about is the westernization of the younger Filipina women even though they have never visited the west. All ,or so it seems, are looking for a walking bank account over a good man. Nobody wants to live poor but living lavishly without bringing anything other than cuteness to a relationship is unreasonable.

This is VERY good advice. Here’s a tip from me if you are looking to find a partner from the provinces. Get to know the Filipino community in your home town. My bosses wife set my brother up with a lady from her home barangay. His wife introduced me to my wife. Its all about family. BTW it was made very clear to me how I should behave before we were married.

This is very practical information, especially for men interested in provincial girls. I was raised as a country boy, so I'm interested in country girls. Even when I lived in (or near) big cities, I didn't like the bar scene, going from nightclub to nightclub with the crowds, loud music, and dancing.
Those lines you gave us at the end sound like lines from songs and, yes, movies. Quoting such things seems corny and very outdated here in the West, but it sounds like something that works in the Philippines. It looks like I'll have to brush up on my favorite love songs before I visit.
