Fabulous! Jaco was my bass hero, I met him in 1980, and held the famous 'Bass of Doom'. Jaco inspired so many players. Keep playing young man, and find your own unique voice.😎
I have exactly the same bass: a fretless Fender Jazz Special, almost certainly made in Japan. This is one of the most convincing versions of this track I've ever heard. But beyond the performance there is that sound that is really clean and unmistakable as well. Nice.
Just saw this and a good job done here, but there's something in the feel that's not wright. Oh yeah, he's not Jaco, but there's only 1. Good vid and no disrespect intended. Cheers
Great playing first off. But some level is too high and its clipping to my ear. Also the baseline itself... suffice it to say its not portrait of tracy or the the bridge from dead goon. Maybe they just down-thumbed the line.?
dieselyeti BECAUSE EVEN IF IT WAS GOD HIMSELF PLAYING THEY WD ANYWAY PUT THUMB DOWN is those depressed “ schizophrenic” like bitter people never happy even winning the lottery !!!
I think TH-cam sometimes recommends videos like this to random people, and if you rhumb down it similar ones won't appear in your recommended ones anymore: I can see someone not interested in music doing this, and it would explain why ever video has at least a handful of thumbs down. Don't know if it's true, just something I've heard. Great playing tho.
They both have Hitchhiker's Thumb, which is a recessive trait. My maternal aunt and older sister have it, also (I don't, and neither do either of my parents).
For that sound I suggest to setup your guitar like Jaco. Very heigh action and over 12 thou neck relief. A very low action and little relief makes the guitar fast but sterile sounding.
The actual execution on a fretless is no different than a fretted bass,,, I think that the playing part is actually easier,, now,, I don't care if it is fretted or not,, knowing how to pull off a Jaco ride like this dude is another subject altogether... He nails this one.. Great Job!!!
Nothing againt ele tric bass I love it (I play the guitar) but i showed this to my brother and he just said mmm "anyways its more boring than guitar"..xD

13 losers voted thumbs down for this? WTH? This dude nailed it.
I understand the first thumbs down, on that Beavis and Butthead/Bart Simpson shit, but after that, have a fucking reason.
Great playing first off. But some level is too high and its clipping to my ear. Also the baseline itself... suffice it to say its not portrait of tracy or the the bridge from dead goon. Maybe they just down-thumbed the line.?
Must be from those playing roots only on a bass...

Aaaawww yeah homie, that's the vibe
your bass colour is amazing ..
Great playing!!
Can i ask you where did you find that jazz bass?
Right thumb is like Jaco Pastorius.
They both have Hitchhiker's Thumb, which is a recessive trait. My maternal aunt and older sister have it, also (I don't, and neither do either of my parents).
If i was that man, working on that bass i would start a weather report cover band and rake in some serious money.
For that sound I suggest to setup your guitar like Jaco. Very heigh action and over 12 thou neck relief. A very low action and little relief makes the guitar fast but sterile sounding.
That's fantastic!
StasyBoo91 Thanks Stasy. Kisses
Excellent Jam in E! Do you happen to have tabs for it?
hello Michel, it's so pretty...
can you please show me where can i find the drum pattern..
thank you
I love that neck. Anyone know where to find one?
Great playing bro!! One thing though I don't know why but I have a pet peeve with dots on a fretless lol
I rather like it... better than no dots and super-obvious fret lines.
That’s all well and good ...but can you play Mouldy old Dough ? Lol .. lovely Jazz bass ..
What kind of neck is on this bass? Is it graphite?
Great playing but where's the transcription?
