Great performances by Notts throughout the tournament. They fully deserved to win it this year. They kept their two overseas players while most went without, and came up with a very good tactic of picking plenty of big hitters all the way down to number nine, and having plenty of all-rounders and slower bowlers, which meant they could keep looking to score quick and afford to lose wickets doing so. Lancs (who I support) went with no overseas players - despite having more income than most counties, we seem more intent on hosting internationals and concerts, and playing academy players, rather than winning trophies. It was so obvious all tournament that we were the reverse of Notts tactics - we had our only four big hitters at the top of the order and had no finishers, meaning when we got to number 5 downwards in the order we were getting ones and twos and few boundaries at the tail end of each innings. We were crying out for finishers like Maxwell and Faulkner - our planned overseas players - to do what the likes of Christian and Patel regularly did for Notts.

Heavy rain day before meant the pitch was not playable until 3pm. Three matches had to be fitted in before the 10pm cut off time, no time to fit in 120 overs of cricket with turnaround times. Semis were reduced to 11 overs per team, the final to 16.
@@BoringExtrovert No not standard ? Occasionally 20 overs are reduced whenever there is possibility of rain to end the match within 3 hours because sometimes of those 3 hours might have been taken by rain.
