@@RobertFithenThere’s so many . You could make a huge list of nothing but bands that just put out one phenomenal record and then just disappeared. Would have been great to be a teenager around ‘66-‘72.

The color changes on this video made me think I was having a stroke. Fortunately, this was not the case. It could have been though as I am old.

Whoa, 3 minutes in I started wondering whether I was having a flashback! Nice touch with the effects. Mighty Baby sounds familiar, the name. But when you mentioned saxophone on the record, reminded me that Syd Barrett wrote some songs that included saxophone parts, but the other members of PF at the time said no to that idea. Barrett certainly would have heard Might Baby. And, of course, what do you find on a PF record three years later? Yeah, saxophone.

Arzachel is really great!! A curious fact about this record is that they used pseudonyms. the guitarist behind it is Steve Hillage from Gong. The rest of the members later became the band EGG, namely Dave Stewart and Clive Brooks.
I would also mention Mutantes' 69 album on this list, in memory of Rita Lee who passed away last month, one of the most important singers in Brazil.

Re : White Noise album : this wasn’t necessarily an album put out by an orthodox group , the female on the album was Delia Derbyshire who was a electronic pioneer employed by the BBC Workhouse , probably her most known work was the Dr. Who theme but without credits due to her only doing her job for the BBC at the time.
There’s quite a few in depth documentary’s about her out there finally giving her the recognition of her pioneer status in early electronic music and tape trickery….she’s as suburban looking as you could possibly get. Most of the future electronic bands owe her a big debt of gratitude for their careers and they know it too.
Regarding the album itself once upon a time it was a charity-shop , car-boot sale staple , even at 50p you just couldn’t give them away , now like a lot of these things it’s be reassessed in the market…..
Do a search for Delia Derbyshire and it may give you an appreciation of her stature in Electrolia.

I always thought a baker's dozen should be eleven, not thirteen. Makes sense to me, the baker ate one. Possessive, right? He has it, not you. Thirteen should be a customer's dozen. With that in mind, here's a customer's dozen of '69 albums that lovers of psychedelia might find interesting. Unlike donuts, these albums won't expand your waistline. But they might expand your mind. Dig in, and dig it!
1 - Flowers of Evil: Ruth White
    2 - Touch: Morton Subotnick
    3 - Contact: Silver Apples
4 - A Gift From Euphoria: Euphoria. Psychedelic orchestral country music. Ladies and gentlemen we are floating in cow pies.
5 - Farewell Aldebaran: Judy Henske and Jerry Yester. Starts with a rockin' "Snowblind." I guess they beat Sabbath to the spiked punch.
6 - Spleen: The Sound of Feeling. Two of the singers on this album, the twin sisters Alyce and Rhae Andrece, played androids on the "I, Mudd" episode of the original Star Trek series. You've never heard "Hurdy Gurdy Man" and "The Sound of Silence" like they do them. The album was released in '68 in Japan. The US release was in '69, for sticklers.
7 - Apryl Fool: Apryl Fool. Released in '69 in Japan, never officially released in the US. Haruomi Hosono of Yellow Magic Orchestra plays bass on this album.
8 - Canaxis 5: Technical Space Composer's Crew. Holger Czukay of Can composed this album.
    9 - Illuminations: Buffy Sainte-Marie
    10 - Oar: Skip Spence
11 - Seduction Through Witchcraft: Louise Huebner. Lots of useful information on this album.
12 - Chronophagie "The Time Eaters": Jacques Lasry. Science fiction authors Harlan Ellison and A.E. Van Vogt wrote a short story together called "The Human Operators." A note before the story states that you should listen to this album while reading the story.
13 - Joyride: Friendsound. This album has three former members of Paul Revere & the Raiders on it. It's a wild ride. Just remember: eleven if for baker, thirteen if for customer. I think Longfellow would've put it that way. Stay groovy. I think Claude Hooper Bukowski would've put it that way.

Had a chance to pick up an original of Mighty Baby for $125 but that is still beyond the tolerance of my wallet! So a reish was my thing! That Joe Bird was one of the first psych LPs I ever picked up (as it was cheap) Interesting listen but not one I’d pull often. Love all the Illusion LPs! Great stuff and love Jeff Barry He was a huge part of the Bubblegum Rock movement! But yeah The Illusion LPs are more pop psych and 60’s rock but it does get thrown into the psych realm frequently! Love em! Have you seen her eyes! “What have you done with its eyes!!” Name that movie? The Collectors other album is a bit more psychy! But the one you showed again cuz it was cheap was one of my first psych records! I think that album was supposed to be for a soundtrack or something I could be wrong tho! Arzachel is amazing! I think they were the guys from The Egg and maybe Uriel too! There’s a guy named Dave Stewart that I thought was the guy from the Eurythmics (I was wrong) LoL! Gandalf is so good! Love their catchy hooky tunes! That’s a great listen! Phallus Dei! I remember that there’s a gal who watches your videos that claimed you have the Phallus of God LMFAO! Remember that? Americans love fuzz, Brits put a LOT more into their psych.
An Electric Storm is one of the best psych albums to come out of the `60's! The ONLY track I DIDN'T use on "The Enpsychlopedia" was "Firebird". The album is LOADED with all things psych (except mellotron and sitar). It was a VERY well put-together album and there was no goofing around at all!
Joe Byrd was from the band, The United States Of America, which is a pretty highly respected psych band. "You Can Never Come Down" is a remake from the USA album. Ernie Anderson did a comedy album with Tim Conway in the `60's.
Yeah, pretty much anything that came out in the late `60's is considered psych! Even country music! And, as I've said, Americans think that, all you need for psych is a fuzzy guitar and strange lyrics. Most of it is garage, not psych.
Tim Hardin. Before they became, Gandalf, they did at least a couple singles on RCA Victor under the name, Barracuda. Very similar sounding stuff but not exactly a carbon copy of this style.
So many priests ARE abusive of children!

Here's a little background on Mighty Baby. This band formed from the ashes of The Action, great band managed by George Martin and signed to Parlophone. They had a minor hit called "Shadows and Reflections" and were adored by all the mod kids. Legend has it they were fired from their support spot with The Who because they often were better than them live! But Parlophone never supported them the way the supported The Beatles, and when their great lead singer, Reg King, left the band, they nearly broke up. But instead of that, they re-recruited their old keyboard player to come back and share vocal duties, changed their name to Mighty Baby, the rest, as they say, was (almost) history.
George Martin himself said he could never understand why The Action were never as big as The Beatles.

Lovecraft (one of the best horror writers ever), whom a psychedelic rock group named themselves after, died in the 1940s. The GI JOE Nurse was several years before 1969. It's rare and has a value of $10,000. There was another GI Joe set much later (which had nothing to do with nurses), which they stopped production on for a while, and it got bids as high as $50,000 on ebay for a $41.99 toy. Then Hasbro started production again and it's value went from $50,000 down to $50. Reminds me of Living Stereo lps and their collapse in value back in the 1990s. Are they coming back any?
There was an Audiophile label called "Audiophile" which released Jazz lps on red vinyl before and after stereo first came out. Captain Nice was a one season TV show. As I recall he was a mild mannered man until he popped what looked like a gum ball into his mouth and it transformed him into Captain Nice. It would have been interesting to see him in the ring going up against Bob Newhart.
The first direct drive turntable was the Technics SP10 in 1970. The first cassette decks with auto reverse came out in the early 1970s. Columbo TV episodes started in 1972, but there were a few movies starring Peter Falk as Columbo before that. Cheech and Chong's favorite substitute teacher Sister Mary Elephant, was nicknamed that from her elephant sounding and elephant loud "Shut Up "when she screamed to get the classroom quieted down to hear her speak.
      Good video!
