Now i know what a French seam is. I like the bag you made it seem so simple. Thank you and I enjoyed the fact that you did some simple errors that we all do as beginners. Many thanks from the UK
@@FabricationsOttawa I’ll be making for my grandsons giveaway bags for his Christening in October, and so far yours is the easiest one I’ve seen and easy to follow 🥰🥰🥰Thanks so much and I have subscribed to your channel 😍🤗❤️

My apologies, I thought you meant the seam gauge that Katy was using. Here is the link to the 2.5 inch size, but you could use any of the larger square rulers as well: fabricationsottawa.com/products/square-quilt-ruler-25in?_pos=3&_sid=36926cb2c&_ss=r
I’m a beginner at sewing so although this project sounds easy, I need clarification please. To make the casing for the draw strings. I measure down the fabric 1 1/2 inches from the top edge of the fabric which is going to be the casing I’m going to be working with, correct? And then, I’m cutting or clipping into the fabric 1/2 inch inward, correct? This is how I’m understanding your instructions. I’m sorry, I just sometimes get a little discombobulated.
I am sorry but the chaos is too distracting for me. Sounds like there are some who can tolerate it, but not for me. You need to be prepared before you start videoing and have everything you need at your fingertips. I could not see what you were doing while you were sewing but I have sewn enough to know. The mess makes a difference for me and I can't watch. Thankfully for you there are people who that doesn't bother.

Are the ends of the casing a raw edge or did I miss something
Those edges are pretty well secured with all the folds but you can absolutely give them a little stitch before folding down the casing.
You are great 👍

Yes you are making a cut 1/2" in, 1 1/2" down
very easily explained
Fabric is directional and is upside down on one side Oops….😂
Yes, I noted that! She is a hoot though. Perhaps not enough preparation, but still, I learnt something new.
English people say French seam. In France we say couture anglaise. Hello from France .
