They went with Hardaway game 3 after luka fouled out, and he didn't do anything. The player that should've played those minutes and who made the biggest impact Friday, was Dante Exum. He deserves his flowers!
Whether or not the season ends tonight, this channel has been my go-to this entire playoffs for coverage of all teams and series. Legs is really one of the best, keeps his analysis to the product on the court and leaves all the unnecessary fluff and narratives out of it. Adam is a great host/co-host as well. Just top tier basketball content that has been very much appreciated by a bunch of basketball fans who have been craving sound analysis and breakdowns of what we see on the court.
Hardaway is not the answer when the pressure is there. The way to play Hardaway is to keep him in if he’s making shots, but as soon as he misses a shot he needs to go back to the bench for the rest of the game
@@CoachTC23 because other teams' managers do not have eyes? we will have to suffer him for one more year... or put him in a package with some draft pick to clear some salary cap if we want to re-sign DJJ
Kyrie coming through is going to be important Boston is in his head or I feel like he is trying to overcompensate. Lively is going to have to come with the same intensity or Dallas loses.
I think lively need to shoot the 3 more. Kleber acting scared so hell you might as well. People forget this man had made 20 straight 3's at the combine
Never heard of the “blow-by” stat until it was used against Luka… are we going to completely discount the fact that the Mavs have intentionally funneled the ball into their bigs down low? Are we completely sure Luka isn’t allowing this intentionally at times? Yes he picked up his defensive effort in game 4, but the blow by rate is just a ridiculous agenda push.
@@noahcockroft6859 if you literally watched any Mavs games in the playoffs this year its so obvious it was their entire strategy. drive guys off the line but then pack the paint helping off of the least threatening shooter (terrance mann, josh giddey, kyle anderson) so they’re forced to either make tough midrange shots or make tough decisions to pass out. its why we lost that one game against the Clippers where Harden hit like 6 floaters in a row down the stretch because he figured it out for a second and we didnt adjust. its why shai couldnt really do anything except take tough ass middies, he just happened to be fucking amazing at that. its why ant struggled against us and kept making wild/terrible passes out of bounds because he’s not a playmaker. and its why the Celtics have been kicking our ass because they have good shooters in every position that break down that kind of defensive strategy. however its still possible for that to be true, and that Luka was just bad defensively in this series up until game 4. both can be true. the strategy worked well when Luka was able to hide on the corners and when he was engaged on helping and rotating at the right times. Its different when the Jay’s were specifically targeting him and then he also didnt rotate or give effort.
I'd like to see the stats on how many elite defenders Luka "blows by," now that we're keeping track. I vividly remember him doing it to literally every Boston defender. Or is it just when it's him?
It's fair to bemoan the blow-by stat generally given their general defensive strategy, but with respect to the Celtics, it has been a bad idea to "funnel the ball to their bigs down low," because their bigs mostly are not down low. When Celtics actually space the floor properly (Games 1-3), the bigs are out on the corners. Not in the paint.
The Celtics you saw in game 4 were the Celtics you saw last year losing to Miami and the year before losing to the Warriors. If you’re a Celtics fan and you get triggered when people doubt your team…performances like game 4 are precisely why everyone doubts and dogs them. They have a nasty tendency of falling into really bad habits in crucial moments and choking. I still think they’ll win (probably tonight)…but if they don’t close it out tonight..you may see history made right before your eyes.
Wait, no one could have imagined Dallas blowing out the Celtics?!? I hear people around the podcast space talking about how the Celtics lose games just like this one
Exum is their best shot. Tim Hardaway Jr has severely regressed. He can only score against the 2nd unit scrubs. Every hardcore Mavs fan has him #1 on the trade away at all costs list
I think if KP didn’t play in this series Mavs would have won in 5-6. KP length is a problem for the Mavs if he doesn’t play tonight and it goes back to Dallas Boston should be worried. I don’t see Boston coming to Dallas and winning another game. At that point I think it’s a 7 game series.
Boston was up 21 and won game 3 without KP and then played most of the playoffs, even without KP they are still in a good position to win the series without KP

8:50 wake up Legs? It’s obvious they were thinking they’d sweep the Mavs and were preparing fans that KP would be allowed to go out and walk up and down for a minute if they were up by 20…call out the hubris 🤦♂️
Aren't you more concerned that Dallas didn't "dig deep" in the first three games of the finals? That seems like a bigger sign than finally playing in one game.

Amen. If Kidd gives Exum’s minutes to THJ because he balled out in garage time then they deserve to lose tonight.

It's must win for Dallas, because they are out if they lose.
