One of the best episodes since the move to Austin. To all the new comers, this is what a good episode looks like - Tony was on, good bucket pulls, a few impromptu events (arm wrestling), decent input from guests and a lively crowd.

I think the old bad added a lot more depth the show, and created space for different comedic voices. Obviously, the characters would really keep things fresh, even though some of them felt a little played out by the end of that two year run. as the shows got closer to the pandemic, I agree, there was something really off with jeremiah and Tony. Tony seemed to shut Jeremiah down in an instant. The current version of the show is much more exportable and Tony likely has to pay out less, which means he keeps more of the profits. I am hoping we get road shows soon because I miss the hell out of them. I would love to see the band come back for roadshow, especially if they were to do road shows in LA. All in all, the show is still good and makes me laugh because the premise is amazing and Tony is sharp, but it misses the magic and spontaneity of the old shows. I miss the hell out of Mexican drum offs, funny characters, joelberg chants, the old LA crowd and LA bucket pulls.

Best of the new era hands down. However, we cannot forget how Jeremiah would consistently have us in tears. The jokes and riffs he would come up with IN CHARACTER each week as a new set of characters were amazing. Obviously, the whole band was great. It's hard for me to compare the two eras.

Dina may have never done comedy before, but she's actually really comfortable on stage and working the crowd. I guarantee that she could actually be pretty good at stand-up if she took it seriously and worked on some joke writing. Her singular joke on stage had a decent premise, it was just the wrong format for a 60 second set. And being comfortable on stage is a big part of stand-up, regardless of audience size. But part of her issue is that she's only at "co-worker" funny. We all tend to laugh at stuff friends/coworkers say/do because we know them and we aren't expecting to get a stand-up routine in normal life. I've got a couple friends that do the same shit. They'll randomly walk by, stop, and then just throw out a 10-30 second joke. They're probably all bits or jokes that they found on Facebook or whatever, but that lowered expectation in that environment means that you're not mentally prepared to expect a joke and it will seem better than it would be in a stand-up set. For example: "If 'Vin Diesel' were a black guy, would he have just called himself 'Vinegar?'" Shit like that (though that's not specifically one of their one-liners.)

Usually Tony is the one making others do things under pier pressure. It was hillarious to see someone on stage not only steal the crowd from him, but also use it to pier pressure him into something he didn't want to do.
