- Scenic Drive through Angeles National Forest via California State Route 39 on a sunny day of winter 2021 in 4K 60fps.
This drive is really scenic and relaxing, and is located just a few miles North of Los Angeles, California. I would say it is ideal to go there on a weekend to have a break from traffic jams and enjoy beautiful landscapes (a nice example can be seen at 21:40).
In these types of roads where there is one lane, we always try to be mindful of people who want to pass (in which case we stop at a turnout). Another situation is if there is an emergency vehicle that wants to pass, as can be seen at 10:14.

Im from the east coast but travel to Los Angeles every year and I never leave the city next time I go this is where I’ll go😁 being from the east coast this terrain and landscape looks like another world so amazing
The first time I ever stepped foot in the mountains was in this canyon. Specifically the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. The rest is history. Great video!

Well that ended abruptly. No signs that I saw warning of a road closure. Guessing it was a landslide
I think so too. We were not too surprised to have to turn around because the road closure was already shown in Google Maps/Waze before we planned this trip.

My brother and I just drove through it yesterday. It was so scary and I went into a panic attack for the first time in my life. I was driving... But couldn't stand the incredible sites and views. The views were a mixture of astonishment and danger! In hindsight.. I'm previleged to have had this experience!! Thanks for the post.

I wonder if they allow you to hike on the HWY 39 that is closed to traffic.
Good question, I don’t know. On Google Maps it says it will reopen in May though (not sure why it’s closed in the first place, maybe winter conditions). Wish you the best in your travels!
