Keeper of the Celestial Flame is definitely my favorite song Gloryhammer has made, and I am so glad they got Alex Henderson to do the animation.
The man has two other music videos under his belt that I know of, the official video for Alestorm's "P.A.R.T.Y." (the founder of that band, Chris Bowes, is also one of the founders of Gloryhammer, he plays the keyboard and provides the voice of Zargothrax on the album. He used to play him live as well, and he is the one in costume for him for the first two albums), and the other is on Alex's channel, where he has an animation inspired by his love of the Donkey Kong animated series, which has Alestorm's cover of "Pirate's Scorn", originally from that very series

I love Alestorm. I am very familiar with their songs but have not seen the videos yet. I plan to discover them in this channel so be on the watch out. As for Gloryhammer, they are one of my buddies favorite bands so I have come to discover them with the last album and am trying to play catch up. It's a lot. I'm here for it! Cheers... Keep on Rockin'🤘🏻

There's a really cool detail at 2:58 in the music video. When Zargothrax Clone Alpha-1 is walking out from behind the ice, you can see the silhouette of OG basketweaving Zargothrax frozen in his tomb of liquid ice. This video really is next-level. This song is was my intro to Gloryhammer and it's been one of the best musical discoveries of my life.

Its a good video, the beginning of the animation up until the upload complete part is a nice recap of the first album. I really love the story they tell from first album to their newest one :)

Yeah I have a lot to catch up on because I am behind. I am enjoying everything that is happening though and will start to dig into the past.

Yess! I've been waiting for this one! :D The animation here is sooo good!
I love your struggle with pronouncing Zargothrax and Auchtermuchty. You will encounter a lot more of those Scottish village names along the way xD
In this song they finally cover Zargothrax' backstory. The animation is not perfectly accurate to what happens in the story, but there are so many details in there. I will try to cover most of the things I noticed here.
A morse code signal ("activate Zargothrax clone Alpha-1") sent from a different dimension (end of Album 3) awakes a clone of Zargothrax in the year 1022. This is 30 years after the original Zargy was frozen in liquid ice (end of Album 1). You can see the clone step out of the cloning thing here and turn back time. He does not actually turn back time, it's just to visualize that we now see his backstory. The beginning of the video actually plays back there, which I think is really cool.
As pre evil Zargy makes his pact with chaos, we can actually hear a "concealed a clone beneath Dundee"
And also the pattern on the floor is a D20
Then we see the unicorn invasion of Dundee, their first real song after the short Intro song. I think it's funny that this invasion happens in 992, but Dundee was built in the year 0. It took him quite a long time to actually take his revenge xD
The Statue he brings down is meant to be Dundax, founder of Dundee. He has been dead for a while now.
    "He wields the Lasterblaster"
Right in the song before, he got his hands on a powerful weapon called "Vorpal Laserblaster of Pittenweem"
At 4:27 you can see the frozen Princess Iona McDougall that he kidnapped in the first Album.
And in the shot right after we have the whole original gang ready to fight Zargothrax.
Angus McFife I in front with his hammer and helmet.
The barbarian warrior of Unst called the Hootsman on the left.
Ser Proletius, grand master of the knights of Crail to the right.
And the mysterious hermit/submarine commander/wizard Ralathor that apparently can travel through time and space in the back. He also has the most confusing timeline ever xD
Zargothrax is defeated and frozen (end of Album 1) and we go back to the current time of 1022.
The Zargy clone nukes the whole kingdom, turning it into a nuclear wasteland. I like how it's shown in the video. It's made to look more like magic than a nuke. At 4:49 Zargothrax takes two atoms and forces them together, creating an explosion that kills the whole Gloryhammer gang. At least in the video. In the actual story, only Angus dies there.
Now we are another 20 years later, his son Angus McFife II picks up the hammer right where his father died. At 5:07 you can actually see their skulls and bones on the ground. He tries to stop Zargothrax from freeing his original from the ice. In the story, the frozen wizard is held in the fortress of Crail, guarded by Proletius and his knights of Crail. Here it's more like a cave.
This whole fight is just for the video, in the story they fight in the big final song "Maleficus Geminus" right after the original Zargy is freed.
I do love his "shit, I fucked up" face at 6:25
6:31 Here he seems to fight against an illusion that looks like his father Angus McFife I
He is tricked into freeing the original Zargothrax in the video, in the story it's clone Zargy himself that frees him. This also happens in the finale.
Also, the "celestial flame" has no meaning, Chris Bowes said it just sounded cool.
So, I think that's it now. Great reaction as always! ❤❤
(Don't mind me copying my comment before I post it, so it's not lost if it disappears again lol)

Yeah I have read through this a couple times now. I am going to keep this handy for reference cause there seems to be a lot going on. Regardless, I am here for the adventure and music. So far, this has been great. Definitely a band that is easy to get into, musically and artistically and enjoy the vast storyline. Thanks so much for all the info. More to come.

I'm serious, but I think this should be a full-length animated movie.
