@Clara J Who does evil, pays for it later on, if not on this plan, another plan. If he did something bad to you he will feel the regret, it is not nice to wish bad things to others, karma just happens.
One time, when I was home alone, I was blasting this out through the entire house, but right when the mommy problems part came along, my dad came through the front door, and when he heard it, his exact quote was"that boy ain't right".
This song is so cathartic somehow!! It feels my rage for me and let's me unleash it in this song without judgement. It deserves to be remembered as one of the greatest.
I laughed at the part that starts at 3:27 the first time i heard it. But in actuality, it's a sad situation that happens too often. Certain parents refuse to believe mental illness is a thing and think the kid just isn't being punished or threatened to act "right" enough.
Actually in that bit, where lead singer David Draiman acts out a skit where he is being abused by his mother, he's symbolizing how "mother society" abuses "her" children for not being the way "she" thinks they should. "She" keeps doing it until "her" children get sick of it and are so angry with her and themselves they go out and get revenge for it, most likely by killing the people that hurt them ("here it comes, get ready to die!") A good example of this would be the school shootings that go on around the country. But it can also mean different things for different people. Like with me, I'm a survivor of physical, emotional, and verbal abuse from both my biological mother and my stepmother. "No mommy, don't hit me" is something I'd always say during my beatings. It really is fascinating how people interpret that section of the song.
@@profoundlymorose I was physically mentally and emotionally abused by my mother since I know until I was 19. You hit the head on the nail with your description. These songs speak our truth.
I remember trying to copy the “oh wahahahah” part in class with my friends (everyone was talking in the class so I wasn’t shy bc only my friends were looking at me) and it was my turn to try and I went “OH WAHAHAHAH!” Out loud and I accidentally had a voice crack and then suddenly the class was silent and everyone looked at me and the teacher said “are you done goofing around?” It was embarrassing. I didn’t hear the teacher tell us to stop talking so when everyone stopped talking, I was just yelling “OH WAHAHAHAH!”
For the people who think this songs speaks about his mother, seriously. He speaks about the society and how it hits someone. Its a deep song and people must realise that THIS is music and how it puts "mother" as a word to describe something like society.
***** This is what I think why it's about society. When society (people around you) hit you bad, you get depressed. If the whole bullying thing lasts for long, you become a dark person ("you've woken up a demon in me", "looking at my own reflection when suddenly it changes" "inside you the sickness is rising" etc). In the part with mother, it is quite well explained. At the beginning, you're like "why is society so mean to me, it hurts" and you're sad. But society "hits you and hits you", you get angry and you start hating the society out of revenge and start getting homicidal thoughts ("sadistic abusive whore", "wanna know how it feels mommy, get ready to die!"). At least this is my opinion, since I had the same experience a few years ago.
I though it was about in domestic advise, otherwise he wouldn't of referred at the object of his rage as mommy. Naturally, just like everything else, this can have multiple meanings depending on the person. However I think that the intended message is about anise in the family.
As someone who was abused by their mother this song is honestly so on point. It’s also on point when it comes to society at large. I’m just not letting my demons in. They can go on somewhere else
Just canalize it on other activities. Arts are a great option. Also try sports. You dont need to fool yourself pretending you dont feel sadness or rage; just use them to do something productive. Write a story, make a song, paint a painting, create a sculpture. Its heathy that way.
