What a smooth kick back song by the TDN Out in the country. I seen the original band in concert several times and they put on a great show. I really like the organ solo in the song. They had 21 top 40 hits from 1969-1975 and 3 number 1 hits.
This was my favorite song when it came out, at the very start of 1970. In fact, I was thinking of it as a 60s song. It was one of the first fairly popular song about the natural world, and related concerns. The first Earth Day was also in 1970...10 days before this song was released. The official first national Earth Day was yesterday...54 years ago...on a bright and sunny, groovy day.
Three Dog Night Fan here. I listen to them on day one. This song was a change up, but I still loved it. Three dog was the 60's and 70's Eli's coming was 1969, One was 1969.
My favorite Three Dog Night song! Thanks, man. You’ve listened to a whole bunch of their tunes, but they still have some good ones you can check out. “Pieces of April” is very mellow and pretty, “Old Fashioned Love Song”, and “Celebrate” are a little more up tempo, and “The Family of Man” is less well known, but I think you would dig it.
Joy to the World might have been my first ever record. It was either that or Puff the Magic Dragon. I had the 45 at 6 years old. I used to play it on my little briefcase record player.
Great reactions to one of my fave Three Dogs Night songs, "Out in the Country". Different sound w softer vocal. A similar vibe song by them is "Sunlight" great cover of Jesse Colin Young. Check out they're Otus Redding cover "Try a Little Tenderness" Live in concert. Then check Otis's original @ Live From Monterey Pop Festival. Keep doing it Biz.

great tune brah that organ is so prominently in their songs plus the vocals need to react to another great tune call celebrate with the horns from the band chicago !
Their best song!!!!!!

Happy to say I saw them once. They killed it!
Written by the great Paul Williams.

This is such a feel good song."Out in the country" is such a nice song to listen to on a long drive.Great Guitar.
Another great song from Three Dog Night.
This one holds up better than a lot of their tracks. Sometimes they just feel a bit shrill. I was and remain a fan to be clear.
Beautiful tune.

Used to ride around with my friends, 8-track cranked, and we sing a whole album of Three Dog Night.
One of the absolute best! I listen to this a lot. Well..all of their songs. They’re part of the soundtrack of my childhood.
Another down the memory path!Thank you!
Beautiful song! Love it!
no matter the genre you prefer - everyone likes three dog night !
Three Dog Night, the hit making machine
Three Dog Night certainly is the "Sound of the 70's" - All their songs are timeless and Cory Wells
was the cherry on top!
Always one of my favorite TDN songs
Right on Biz ! this was some of the very first music I remember listening to riding in the car with my Mom ! Over 50 years ago!
Shambala is a great tune too

There is no equivalent in today's music. The days of AM radio hits were the best.

Another soothing Three dog Night song from their Hard Labor LP in 1974 is "Sitting In Limbo"
