For everyone who is trying this in 1.8+, obsidian generators were fixed (as in they dont work anymore) after 1.8 was released and continue to not work in 1.9 too. If you are playing on 1.7.x or below then this will still work just fine, but there is nothing I, or anyone, can do to fix this in 1.8+

Used it for five years or so and oh boy you should've seen faces of my friends when i made portal ro nether on skyblock. Grace Behrens Hi there isa very simpleway to mass produce obsidian, i can produce 40-50 blocks at a time using it, all you need are some iron buckets, water, some blocks, a diamond pixaxe and a lava poolbig a 2x2 hole hear the pool and add 2 buckets of water one each in diaganal corners to makea unlimited water suply, then create a wall one block deep around the lave pool. now fill the enclose lava pool with water, the lava will turn to obsidian, keep adding water untila still pool is created, you can now mine the obidisian safely from the surface of the lava pool. each block removed will expose more lava that will instatly turn to obsidian. after one or two pases you will need to remove the water and replace it as it will get to deep to allow acess to obsidian layer. hope this helps,
Now you can mine the end spawn platform and it regens every time something goes in the overworld portal so you can make a sand duper and hold down on the obsidian (java)

Does it have to be made out of stone? Cuz mine isn’t making obsidian it’s making cobblestone and not where the red stone was it’s making the cobble stone in the water source

It was patched? It works fine, the only problem I have is that my dispenser shoots my bucket out rather than dispense the lava

obsidian is created when water hits a lava source block and you can't make an infinite lava source so it's imposable to make an obsidian generator

The people who made an obsidian generator also saved a dogs life 🥺🥺

This was an old glitch that got patched after 1.8. This video is 5 years old, i.e. made in the older versions that had the glitch.
