Need to do some custom work on this one to hopefully improve the look of the model. Ill definitely be removing that bucket, painting the revits maybe try and see if my spare WSI Hitachi 870 undercarriage will fit on this then maybe make some brass hand rails. I really wish Deere would let some other manufacturers make Deere models instead of just Ertl. Hope to see some more review videos
A very thorough review, well done. I guess we are spoiled, as the WSI Hitachi ZX870 set such a high standard for detail. As you mentioned, the JD 870 met a price point. The issues on the JD, such as the looseness of the upper, thick plastic handrails, the excessive looseness of the tracks, lack of removable counterweight, surface-applied louvers for the radiator and unpainted rivets put this model at a lower standard. If I heard you right, a ZX 890 will be available? If so, I'm happy to hear that!! Hopefully whoever the manufacturer may be, that the model exhibits similar high-quality that the WSI Hitachi ZX870 or the TMC ZX690 delivered. Thanks for posting an excellent review.
Thanks Mario. Yes, a ZX890 mass excavator will be made by TMC. I'm not sure when it is to be released, though Bauma seems like a good chance to show it off. One of the European model magazines previewed it last year and we haven't seen it since. From memory, it was definitely closer to thee ZX690 in quality than the ZX870 or ZX470.
Great review and honest review

Looks like I need to get some buckets started on this one

Finally this is what I've been wanting for great review!
Great review
Does anyone know which manufacturer will make the ZX890? There's no more information seens last year.
Yes, TMC will be producing the ZX890. It might make an appearance soon at Bauma. One of the European model magazines showed it last year.
Nice. I prefer TMC's quality because they make those arms at correct angle. I also have zx490 and zx690 in my collection.
Manufacturers just putting out quick crap to make a quick buck, no one's coming out with nothing new
