Thanks Dlow for this reaction! You did an excellent analysis of my eliminazioni round, I fully understood your point of view and I agree with you. I'll come back stronger, i promise. Thanks again legend ❤
Yeah the dudes absolutely talented but it's not really insane if you're a fan of his That's why we watch these videos because it's expected and we want to hear someone opinion when they have skills like his❤
Messy hair is the MVP in this vid! My favourite type of look, so chill Anyway, being serious, I completely agree, this elim was very aestetically pleasing. His flow is like a river, and nothing feels out of place. And this crowd involvment was a great move too, despite being a little cringy to my taste. I adored every second of it and probably will come back to it in the future a lot! Thanks for the reaction and for the amount of comments you gave. It is always so interesting to follow your logic while judging
There's a painter who is well known for being really good at painting but no artist really enjoys his paintings for what they are because they don't portray any significant meaning with them. Thats how i feel blackroll beatboxes, with a calculator studying the landscape but not himself. wow i sound pretentious
I agree with you 100%. I’ve been telling a lot of times that I have mixed feelings with blackroll. On paper, he is great. He is powerful, consistent, clean and has crazy stamina. I always say he has great sportsmanship’s and he is one of the best battlers, but I just don’t connect emotionally with his sets. I don’t see any sense of artistry at all. He does beatbox for beatboxers, and I do like listening to his beats on battles, is entertaining but that’s about it. He is an entertainer and a great athlete, one of the best. But the artistry is lacking so much, the structure, the lyrics… Every time I listen to him, I kinda know what’s coming next because he has a very defined formula, which as you mention, shows amazing discipline, but what is his ultimate goal? What does he want to leave behind? Oh look, I can do this very complex beat very fast and consistent, yeah cool but will it transcend in time? Can people connect emotionally with him? And I’ve had this discussion with lots of high beatboxers and they all kinda feel the same. His fans are mostly kids that enjoy new school/spammy stuff, but a more mature and refined audience that cares for artistry, has mixed feelings with blackroll
I think the real probleme is lack of personality or style really kinda like osis before, just give him a few years to find is style and he will be a monster.
I REALLY agree. A lot of other beatboxers have a style. But he feels like he’s just a dude who beatboxers really well to score high which is why he’s been doing so good recently at places like great North, and worlds. But when it comes to how much you enjoy it, would you replay this? I listen back to Wing from 2023 and colaps from 2021 because they had a lot of style and memorable moments. It’s gonna be the same with Osis for this year. No offence to Julard but none of his beats are remotely memorable unlike Osis
I’ve gotten into arguments in the smym comments sections saying the same things about blackroll. He’s like a paper tiger, mathematically perfect but its missing something, something that sets him apart.
You hit the nail on the head with how you described the current plite that blackroll faces with taking his beatbox to the next level. The skills are there, but structurally, it is very predictable and kind of generic
As usual I really connect with your assessment. You are really good at speaking from a place of love and improvement and you see the best in everyone. I am pretty inspired by this and I'm gonna work on it. Thanks dlow
what do you mean by hard? only the very top beatboxers could do that, and among them no one could just instantly replicate it, they'd need to do some practicing. none of what he did is even easy relatively speaking so I'm not sure where you got that from
D-Low, talk as much as you want, that’s why I watch your video, to hear an opinion, and if it’s “long” to explain that opinion, then I will just listen through it all 🫡
Possibly, but there's people who have similar energy with different sources, such as Remix, who is very aggressive and maintains similar energy through his bass which literally sounds like it's constantly present & cutting through everything (the sound difference when you listen to the transition between each turn is insane), and a few others that all together bring a more expanded sound palate with the energy; I will say I do really enjoy Blackrolls flow & appreciation to structure modulation as well as his techno sound with his lip oscillations.
Blackroll is tricky to score but i'd have put him under Steady. I think originality really matters in GBB and Blackroll was very generic and cookie cutter ish. He still did a great performance but i don't feel comfortable placing him that high.
I don't see how you move down Helium. Especially when talking about skill and consistency. 5th or 6th is the right call here. Helium should probably be above Ice as well.
This might sound heartless. I hope it isn’t. I found this elim to be utterly forgettable. He made such an effort to get people involved that his beats felt anticlimactic. There was no wow factor that justified his hyping the crowd, to me. Everything was crisp, clean, powerful… and dull. I was bored. I wish I hadn’t been. I hope to actually hear Blackroll’s unique voice in a future edition edition. I heard nothing distinctive this year.
Thanks Dlow for this reaction!

The fact that Dlow is able to replicate other people's beats instantly is insane 🔥🔥
That’s why he’s so good at battling. His technique comprehension is so well refined

GBB 2019 AND KICKBACK BATTLES WAS ALL D-LOW 🔥
@@honey_fb100% and i miss it to see him in a battle, with the 2024 Dlow, he desto everyone.
Não é a toa q é o melhor do mundo 🌍 🔥
What's interesting, remix and Blackroll tied in scores, but remix got in because he was placed higher on more of the judges.
if remix didn’t get in it would have been very controversial
@@Phaniac. Same with blackroll, either way the fans would have felt robbed 😅
@ yea blackroll and stitch definitely deserved to be in, in my opinion alexinho should have been replaced
@@Phaniac.Alexinho was the best tho, he deserved the first place instead of second

This is really apt actually. It sounds pretentious but it resonates for me too, so I'll be a pretentious person with you.
lets fucking gooo
i feel this way too.
I agree with you 100%.
I’ve been telling a lot of times that I have mixed feelings with blackroll.

i think its the same with kaji and julard but even worse, they won the crowd and the judges spamming drops or bad counters(in my opinion)
I think the real probleme is lack of personality or style really kinda like osis before, just give him a few years to find is style and he will be a monster.
Feels like he's always playing safe if that makes sense

19:10 wise word from the legendary dlow
I love this so much Dlow needs to start a podcast with some bros
12:43 this is called exploring intrinsic desires over extrinsic desires
Love your expert analysis, wishing you all the best, get well soon bro ❤️
His beats aren't necessarily hard to do but he made up for it with power, flow, and interracting with the crowd. Truly one of the best new gen
what do you mean by hard? only the very top beatboxers could do that, and among them no one could just instantly replicate it, they'd need to do some practicing.
none of what he did is even easy relatively speaking so I'm not sure where you got that from
He is not into it, just rehearsed performance with no emotion or real thought into it
Patiently waiting for DLOW to drop the REMIX reaction!!!
Me too😢
You’re looking a lot better from your sickness, hope you’re feeling better 😊
Look forward to every upload, big love
I would like to see you reacting to Show me your masterpiece battles. Blackroll is smashing it and he passed to the final against Zekka
Really loved his style. GBB24 has been fire so far
what do you mean 'by this ''so far?''
@SoulAlmighty1660 Erm it means its been good in the comp from what we've seen?

Hairstyle moving like modern day Zerka lol, looks good on you tbh :p
question for you D-low ? ... do you feel youve only improved at beatbox or is there some techniques you used to do that you now struggle to achieve ?
WTF 怎麼這陣子突然留言區那麼多人開始會講那些大道理 來討論有沒有特色等等之類的話 lol
9th place look on your face like you couldn’t sleep
Ahh osis
honestly, this was surelly the most consistent elimination of this year
I'm looking forward to elimination alexinho, the judges classify this joke and left better beatboxers out.
watch him put him in the list ,yall jus don’t get why he’s in jus because a beatboxer yall wanted to qualify didn’t
@@a1j_1 i thought he was in but 2nd felt way too high
put some respect on his name, you're talking like he's a bum
he is fkin great. well deserved spot. wdym by "this joke". alex is goated. you just dont get it
Fingers crossed that Blackroll won't hold a grudge and become a dictator after this.
Honestly speaking, i'd put helium above abo ice
