This is what it really comes down to. It's hard to be attracted to someone who you have unresolved issues with, or even resentment. I think the vast majority of couples and marriages out there suffer from this problem. In no society are we really taught how to communicate properly, how to have difficult conversations with people, and how to hear difficult things from our partners.

Basically the culture of "saving face" is SO STRONG in Japan, that many people won't even drop that notion for the supposedly the closest person in their entire lives: their spouse. So whenever a sexual related problem arises, it simply festers & snowballs until sex life is completely destroyed. Crazy how something so significant is rooted in something so simple: talk.

Man, it's tough having to see how Japan is taking relationships and I know it's also becoming drastic outside of other countries including where I live. I get that a rare bunch could succeed in a sexless marriage, but having intimate sex might be what makes one partner understand each other in ways that they can't do such with others. It's cheesy to say this, but I do believe it's something sacred that yes it could be done with anyone, but it's meaningful when it actually means something important between two people that only they can truly get. To have a sexless marriage may bring the worst in themselves or the spouse and as a result could either bring doubt, hatred, and/or more negative emotions, feeling more like a shell instead of a somebody to them. A lack of communication is very telling from this segment and I feel it might not get any better. Hope I'm wrong on this, but thanks for spreading this out there, Nobita.

11:55 If she got into porn without the consent of her husband, that's basically cheating. Especially if she didn't tell him anything about it. You cannot pretend that is okay to have sex with other people just because is your job. It would be different if her husband was okay with it. I think it's industry marketing, I doubt any woman enjoys having sex on a porn set. Strong light, cameras, crew, all scripted, no intimacy. Even if public sex turns someone on, most of the above conditions preclude satisfaction. It's more about money.

    • @sinesistex

    • @queenkoi

The Japanese often don't view paid sex work as cheating. It goes both ways, many men who are married don't view fuuzoku as cheating because it's an exchange of money for services. I don't agree with it personally but it's very common here.

"I found its often all about lack of communication", "I got into porn and my husband doesnt know about it"
Call me naive because I have no experience with relationships, but why does every video about these type of topics with relationships in Japan just sound like... people literally don't talk to each other. They just got married, had kids and then they find out they dont actually like each other and don't actually fit together. I am honestly so confused anytime I watch your videos on these topics. Do these people just like... not communicate? How do you even get into a relationship with someone where these levels of trust or communicating with the partner are just completely by the wayside? It's really really sad, cause all of these issues would be a no-go for me, whats the point of being close and together with someone as your partner, when you can't talk about issues and find a way for both sides? I just get unnecessarily angry seeing these videos with both people in these relationships not being able to talk to each other WHILE THEY ARE IN A RELATIONSHIP AND SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONFIDE IN EACH OTHER. Its so frustrating to watch, I swear to god. I cant listen to all these things they list after "im done as a women, he doesnt see me as a woman anymore", this sounds like its some anime level misunderstanding plot where the whole world is against these women because neither partner is able to speak to the other.
And dont even get me started on stuff like "oh I wanted to get better at dealing with women, so I became a male prostitue". Im not judging him, he can do whatever he wants - but that sounds so weird to me.... Why is it always about getting into porn/satisfaction business over there..

If you are a worker in some company as a "administrative person", yo dont have name/ personality, you will dress as a "administrative person", you will work as a "administrative person", you will eat as a "administrative person", you will go on a holiday where a "administrative person" would go, you will mary another person in a way a "administrative person" would do :D :D and im not kidding. Thats how "orderly" Japanese culture is. If you are diferent...well the GREAT HAMMER OF SHAME will go down on you. its theire way of living, theire culture and its sad 😞cuz instead of fixing some problems, they just invent "solutionsů like the "NEW AGE ANIME/PR0N INDUSTRY" and as long it makes money its okaaaay...just dont disturb others...

You lost me there in the anime plot. The anime is much better. They got used to do the old ways of the society expecting them do stuff without being told a lot of the countries communication often comes from indirect and non verbal cues which isn't always effective. People are often told to not stand out therefore voicing out opinions can be seen as being rude or stubborn. And what more in the world globally where too many says stuff in the internet that's actually crazy. This will somehow gonna push them to stay quiet even more. It's more than individual problems they are hard wired and trained to keep things themselves which is exactly what they don't need right now.

You might have heard about the lack of mental health understanding in Japan, where you literally have doctors telling them to make a foreign friend because we have a better social and cultural understanding of the subject and that will somehow rub off on them.
It’s something similar with relationships and sex, there is 0 education or communication on this subject from society at large throughout their lifetime. So in a way they’re just guessing and that has all the problems you’d think it does and more.

This is a very difficult problem due to many factors - communication, respect, understanding expectations, personality, stress, quality of sleep, quality of food, scheduling, other time demands, etc.
If both partners are willing and have good communication but seem to actually be missing the actual “drive” - I would highly suggest completely removing all vegetable oils, sugar, and soy products from the diet and consuming more natural foods especially with cholesterol like eggs or meat. This should help. Not eating late and sleeping at a consistent schedule should help too.
In any case, there are many different ways to express your love for one another, and to have fun with each other and it always starts with communication (listening intently>talking) and respect.
I’d love to see another video that explores this from the reverse situation if you haven’t made one already. I think there is a unique difference in that situation.

    • @Nolidior
      @Nolidior ปีที่แล้ว +5

"If both partners are willing" this is the biggest problem I found in current times. I have many friends who are like me, are single and can't find partner. It's not that we don't want to, we just can't find anyone who is willing to open to us like we do, nor they will sacrifice themselves like we do, nor they give us respect like we do. Being ghosted 99% of the times by my dates is also not a good look, nor it will make dating any better. I wouldn't say changing your diets will make it better because from the looks of it, guys are really stopping to care about women, like women stopped caring about men. It's a huge and strange movement, mostly thanks to feminism. Sadly, if women won't start doing what women did years ago, nobody will be getting married and more than half of the people will be alone, single and depressed.

I know sex isn't everything in a relationship, but there is something very fulfilling condlfidence wise when the deed is done. 1. For both partners, there's the feeling of closeness in the passionate embrace. 2. Emotionally sex can be freeing, especially when you're with the one you want to make love to. There's a release of being with someone who sexually arouses you and knowing that person can be yours for the rest of your life. The action shouldn't just be used and exploited for selfish reasons. It should be something special between two people...Also, I do think Japanese men might want to take care of this issue before it really gets out of hand. They're not going to like it if suddenly foreign men come in and their women suddenly become aroused at the thought of having an affair with them.

When I see these kind of content about japan I always get shocked. That's something so sad and weird to me at the same time, I mean this kind of problem regarding sexeless marriage and the escape valvule they use to deal with that.
I think the main issue in japan, if I could generalized, is a human problem, in a antropologic meaning of the term... the fear to express honest fellings of love and kindness creates an envoriment without affection that hurt to much the human heart, and that makes people despair and seek for affection and validation in some places and situations that in reality degradate their value as a person, like into porn or prostitution.
The need for love is so big that people are willing to accept anything to satisfied this lack of love. That's create a "chain effect" of social and human problems.

Also my theory is that as people are waiting longer to have marriages and relationships, it gives them more time to feel like they need porn or casual sex, and when people get used to that, they are less likely to be turned on by normal sex with their partner because they are too used to getting turned on by other methods and potentially cant do it without strange fetishes.

Japanese men, like all men around the world... Are sick of listening to your silly shit. It's not interesting and slowly turns men off. Sure, they'll listen to it for a long time. But the more grown women act like little children and continue to "nag"... The more men will become less interested in that woman. It builds up over time. It's not what you did recently. It's a built up from what you said and did months ago.
Women... really aren't as interesting as they think they are. So it's no surprise that a man, who is generally speaking one of the horniest animals on the planet, doesn't want to have sex with them over time, because women have literally turned these good honest men off with, unnecessary stupidity.
How about just cooking a nice meal when we get home. Hug your man. Give him a good blow job. And let him have a good decent sleep afterwards!

4:36 I hope I misunderstood, but it's as if Mayumi is implying that women want sex only for procreation. I sincerely hope that couples in Japan can separate sex and procreation. I also find it kind of oppressing that the man and woman in a heterosexual couple are referred and refer to each other by their parental role once they have children ("mama" and "papa"). To me, it sounds almost as if they stop being man or woman and that their role as a parent is the only thing that matters.
I also don't understand why it could be shameful for a women to have and express sexual desires.
The fact that many women are still financially dependent on their husband makes it extremely difficult to leave, separate or divorce if the relationship doesn't work for them regardless of the cause. I'm willing to be that is a major cause of women enduring unhappy or even violent marriages.

It’s kinda crazy the level of self destruction or self sabotage Japan is when it comes to relationships. I’m not saying not all do follow the footsteps but this is crazy. It has to be because of how they try to “keep the peace” or “harmony” in certain things but does it really work out in the long. I’m very aware that the mindset of Japan is “it is what is” or “it can’t be helped” but really? You don’t try to challenge anything of the social norms? It’s like they are aware of having more communication but they don’t actually try to even do it and find some other way which is highly illogical. Social pressure and the low self esteem is also a thing too. They care too much what other ppl think that’s why they don’t get divorced. Low self esteem doesn’t make people have self respect and makes them passive as hell. It’s just so immature and selfish, I get that Japan is all about “reading the room” but that can only do so much, you have to be verbal and forthcoming in any relationship. They gotta learn how to assert themselves. And the porn thing is just crazy. Imagine you’re a good husband not being aware of what your wife is doing, she’s not vocalizing anything about the relationship, she’s just passive. Then you stumble across a video of your wife getting gangbanged by 8 dudes for work. That’s heartbreaking.

As an aside, I actually feel for a lot of the women in a lot of these stories. Call me crazy, I guess, but if you're going to refuse sex to your partner and otherwise not treat them as a significant other, and instead just treat them as an "other" in your household, I'm not even sorry in saying you probably deserve to be cheated on. This coming from the guy whose relationship is relatively sexless by choice of both parties, as we both came from places of trauma in which prior relationships have had zero concern for consent being a deciding factor. I'm also of the mindset that, while nobody owes their partner a sexual relationship because of bodily autonomy and all that, it's also just incredibly messed up to deny your partner sex "just because" as I've also experienced. Not because there's no more love, or not because of some other motive like being tired. Just, "just because." It seems to me that Japanese people have difficulties being open, honest and forthcoming. Japanese people seem to struggle to speak their minds, say how they feel, and tell people their expectations etc. etc. I think a problem Rinka Tahara has is that she derives her value from how others see her as a woman, which is problematic as she cannot love herself for herself, only so long as her porn fans continue to consume her content will she be able to continue to love herself, I also think she should tell her husband, and probably get a divorce. When it comes to self-appreciation, that needs to come from within, and you shouldn't rely on others, such as people who only see you as a sex object through your pornographic work. I have also noticed that generally speaking, women desire and need more interpersonal validation than men; I have also heard that women's libido increases as they get older instead of decreasing. I think a problem that Japan faces is that men and women do not know how to treat each other desirably, and both men and women treat their partners poorly in Japanese relationships.

Sadly, I would say women are main reason why it fell down, why both sides stopped respecting each other, which caused to making this huge divide between both sides. Dating is pretty much dead, with majority of women constantly ghosting men, being picky about every small element, while guys just want a good person. This had led to what we have now, which is lowest birth rates, people living alone with 10+ cats, using Internet to validate their own existence and much more. I have met so many women, who would not dare to start first the conversation or discussion. I have met only one woman in my entire life, where she was the first to call me, have a chat, spend some time and overall cared about being friends. How many more women like this one are out there? Two, three, or maybe this was the only one?
There's a lot of reasons why our society is crumbling, why we have so many single people and we can't have only one side keep trying, while another one awaits prince charming on a white horse. I'm just a dude, who sees what's going on around him, and can tell where the problem lies. However, others are blind to these issues and keep blindly following their own broken roads. So the problem stems from, in my opinion, japan’s rigid traditional values that do not keep up with the rest of the developed world. Don't wait for the perfect woman to create the perfect relationship with. Relationships are made, not found. No matter who you marry, she will change as you will also change. You can marry the most beautiful woman in the world and be bored with her in a few months as she might be bored with you in a few months. Instead, build a relationship based on those things that are most important to you both. If you do this, your love will grow. Don't take your relationship for granted as so many couples do. Do things together without stopping. Be kind and loving with each other always. Usually what happens is that couples take their relationship for granted. They stop doing things together. They stop nurturing the other person. Eventually, the relationship fades, sex stops, intimacy of all kinds stops, and the relationship is over, even if the couple continues to live together and pretends that they are a couple.

Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm a 51 year old American man who needed to understand that not all Japanese women are cold and don't want sex with their husbands because they do. I've been married to a Japanese -Brazilian woman for about 19 years now living in Rio and she has shut down completely from me. No cuddling, no hugging, no holding hands, no kissing most of the time, and especially, no sex. It stinks to be in the same bed with someone that you can't touch and want to share love with only to feel alone and abandoned; or even rejected. You're faithful to them and don't cheat at all; and still you're treated as garbage. I don't know how my wife can just shut off her libido like that and doesn't have any desire to be close at all. She never gets the weakness to let go of herself and just grab me to want to kiss or touch at all. It is so heartless and loveless. I started to think that most Japanese women were like this, but thanks for sharing this, I know different now. I sympathize with these Japanese women who are not loved by their men. Such beautiful women. That is so sad. I can definitely relate. Know that there are many men who, also, are going through this, also. It's so heart-breaking. Do you that even though she hurt me I still would've had sex with her again? I told her that she was beautiful to me, but she never felt beautiful to herself. She's in her late 50's. She's missing so much. By the way, I don't hate her. I just hate what she did. I've forgiven her. God bless you for sharing this!

It is interesting that Rinka said that husbands have wives around their age, but they prefer porn(7:48). According to Mari, Japanese men say that their wives' body is unattractive(6:21). Perhaps the men are not being honest about the real reason they find their wives unattractive. I have heard from another Japanese channel that Japanese woman turn into another person after marriage. On Nobita's channel, their was a guy he interviewed that said he avoided being at home as much as possible. He said his wife was constantly attacking him and making him feel unwelcome in his home. I highly doubt he and his wife have an active sex life. Her attitude is so hostile that he does not want to come near her. Perhaps this is true for other Japanese men. Their wives may be attractive, but their behavior is a huge turn off. I know a lot of guys that will not touch a 9 out of 10 if she has a hostile attitude.

I was just in Japan over the spring spending time with friends and colleagues and the men more often than not are owned and emasculated by their wives. Something as simple as why a guy who could afford a slightly nicer car doesn’t have one is because his wife would not question the money aspect but why would he want something outside his allowance? I'm a bit of a recluse in Japan, but among sexless couples I have encountered (Western men married to Japanese women), it's the Japanese woman in the relationship who cuts sex off once a child is born. They have no concept of balancing the role of "loving mother" and "loving wife" and it tips way too far over into the mother category. One Australian guy I know (now divorced) finally was able to get his wife to make love again after their first child, then after the second child was born, it was back to being a fridge. Despite the high divorce rate in the West, we still have more opportunity to grow up seeing our parents as loving couples. Japanese youth grow up seeing their parents ignore each other, or see their mothers constantly running their fathers down. You need communication and you need necessary arguments to make your positions known.

It goes both ways. How a woman treats a man influences how confident they feel and how sexy they perceive their wives. On the other hand, the same goes to for the man, how they treat the woman affects how sexy they feel and their confidence as well. If one side is lacking, it becomes a negative feed back loop and nothing changes. Both need to do their part in being a manly man and a feminine woman to drive these emotions and sexual energy/tension.

Very interesting topic. I was really surprised to hear that men don’t feel attracted to their wives anymore. I cannot say the reason, I mean, in every culture things like this happen, but what I know is that some marriages are together for a mutual social convenience, as having a family in order to fill expectations, and economic stability. So maybe not having strong and loving ties could be one of the reasons of lack of communication.
Also, if I’m correct, Japanese society tends to give a lot of weight to a person’s physique instead of feelings, which for me, are more important than the other; I really like to seat with my partner and hear what he wants and needs to say, to speak out honestly, but always taking care of not hurting my feelings. And this has to be in both directions.

I’ve been on several Tinder/Bumble dates with women in Tokyo that turned out to be in sexless relationships. They’re typically professional women in their early to mid thirties with partners that are similarly focused on their careers. The truth always came out post-intimacy, leaving me feeling bad for their guys, and bored of having more of my time wasted. They'd describe having exhausted, lost, often workaholic partners. And who can blame them. Tokyo is exhausting. The lack of sympathy towards the guys was, unfortunately, not at all surprising. In one case, a guy at a FAANG company I happen to know (not closely) was very reasonably asking that they give things time to settle down. Guy was hustling his career, just like her. A slightly older woman that wanted to get pregnant and seemed to think her man wouldn’t notice when a half Japanese kid popped out. It wasn't like it hurt me, but finding out was a letdown and made me respect them less. After they got what they wanted, they'd ghost. Throw in the tendency for women to have lower and less predictive sex drives with the reluctance of many Japanese women to initiate, and you end up with a lot of tired, let-down guys dating or married to women looking for fun on dating apps. Shame.

theres SO much to unpack here--but i really think what's at the root of all these issues is how japan views women, and the work life (of usually men) that cause them to be less interested, etc. there was even a study at a japanese company where they allowed workers to go home earlier, and it resulted in a boost of paternity leave (basically the husbands went home, got it on, and had babies).
but as for the video, so many red flags in this. it seems a lot of women equate their worth to how attractive they are to others. that's a very human reaction, but i dont think women would ever be happy with themselves if this is all they relied on. its definitely an international problem as well. in a perfect world, women (and men) would find love for themselves from within, not determined by someone else. unfortunately, i also understand what its like to be in their position. we weren't married, but pretty much he had no attraction for me (due to his pxrn addiction lol.) that 100% wasn't my fault, but i immediately questioned my self-worth and attractiveness, when it was really his problem in the end. it TORE me up inside. i questioned so many things, i got depressed, i was so unhappy. but thank god, the relationship ended. i realized it was COMPLETELY not my fault at all, and that i was still attractive, loveable, etc. but i had to leave and do some thinking to realize that. so, i have to say i completely understand their position. and i could not even imagine living in a japanese society on top of that, where you feel you cant voice anything.
in japan especially, youthful appearances is insanely more valued. its almost like the second a woman turns 30, she's undesirable. when i studied abroad in japan, i met a few japanese mothers. we (the students) were getting our pictures taken by them. to be nice, i asked if they wanted a picture too. they all laughed it off and called themselves "old women," "it'll be a grandma photo." these women didn't even look old. they were all still beautiful. but because of their age (and the society) they didn't see it that way. its so sad. because of the society, i feel like most women are just taken for granted. ive also talked to some japanese students and they were ALL dissatisfied with their love lives. even my closest friend got her heart broken by a guy that just led her on for fun. japan needs to rework so many gender dynamics (if thats even possible) if citizens ever wanna feel truly happy. it'll just get worse. its such a complex problem, but i hope japan decides to change.

It isn’t impossible for a man to refuse the bedroom fun. It’s not talked about as much cuz you don’t hear about it as much but it is possible. There’s various reasons for this: busy with career, sleep deprived, the foods consumed (ex. Junk food), past trauma from a former partner, pr0n use, could’ve found someone else, or just lost interest for whatever reason.
In the times we’re living in now, life seems hectic, people are overworked, and they have to provide for their families. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that the men are just stressed. I’m sure there’s more to it but either way thanks for the video TJR.

"Just divorce then" also doesn't seem right either given how the yen is falling the last I've heard, so trying to make a living on their own seems like the lesser choice, especially if they have kids and the parents really want their needs covered.
The only issue I fail to understand is why the men don't want it besides ED or abuse. If the wife is that unflattering to you, why would they care what she's doing? It's not like the husband were going to touch her

That woman who got into porn without telling her husband and claimed it was better than cheating needs a slap in the face. How did she even arrive to that twisted conclusion?
Why hasn't she divorced her husband yet, if working in porn has given her what she wanted? It's probably because she still wants money from her husband. That money plus what she earns from prostituting herself gives her the ability to afford luxuries she otherwise wouldn't be able to afford.
I could be wrong here, but I'm probably right.

life is tough for a divorced woman in Japan, economically and socially, especially if moving back home w/parents is not an option. If her porn career makes good money she could do it but I don't think porn is a long lasting career.

Divorce is not really an option for women in Japan, as there’s far too much stigma and “loss of face” involved. Also, porn isn’t really seen as cheating there because there is an exchange of money. We can’t judge an Asian society by Western values.

@@richerDiLefto I'm Asian, although not Japanese.
Only logical fallacies can lead one into believing he/she loses face from a divorce but not from doing porn. The exchange of money for sexual service is referred to as prostitution and the provider of such service is called a prostitute. Prostitutes are seen as garbage in Asian cultures. The stigma is much worse.

in the usa, having sex is a marital duty, failing to do it is grounds for divorce. if you dont want to have sex w your person, then just move on, sex is required for any healthy relationship.
if my chick dressed like a sloot in public, had an instagram, or had any male friends, she wouldnt be my chick.
i wouldnt even be friends w a girl who does porn, my standards for dating are miles apart from anything 'adult entertainment'.
if she ignores her health, gets fat, is complaining constantly, is annoying to be around, starts fights....those are symptoms of a worthless female; you cant blame him for not wanting her.

Couldnt overworl be one of the causes of erectile dysfunction then? If the men are working long hours and too tired to function, it makes sense that there would be an overwhelming frequency of occurence of ED.

When you take accountability and vow and marry someone there should be a level of appreciation for one another's Inner Being, regardless of what life phase they are in be it young, middle age or old. True Love is Deeper than just the superficial surface. It's supernatural. This individual will forever satisfy you emotionally, you share pain, a history and you don't fear opening up to them and expressing vulnerabilities because they truly get you. So there should first and foremost be a High level of Respect for each other's Soul journey... this is the Foundation, the head. With out that knowledge and understanding, It's no surprise that the Relationship is unfulfilling. ❤

He still does good stuff but unfortunately he has financial difficulties and seems to get sponsored to do publicity for porn companies, at least if I am understanding correctly what he said in the comment section of a video a good while ago. From how he frames the questions it is obvious that he is very socially conservative if not reactionary but my impression he has kids so it is quite likely that putting food on the table is the priority, personally I think he should set up a patreon and make the sort of good content he seems to want to make.

Do you think men have the energy to "do it" after all that?
