Every day I wake up and think about my chores and what's on the agenda for the day. Fortunately for me I am an avid fan of 1bike1world and always have the pleasure of a new video or FB pictures from Dean. Some days that anticipation is very important, like today for example. Last night I had another awful nightmare which is fairly common for this old retired Paramedic who has severe PTSD and depression. I have not much to look forward to most days as I go shambling around my house, but since I found Dean and Nala years ago now I cannot tell you how often Dean's enthusiasm, kindness and love for Nala has pulled me out of the dumps, as it has again today. God bless you Dean. May your adventures continue for years and years. You save more than just the occasional critter. Most days you save me.🐾

I am obsessed with Nala's cat tree seat! We used to have a VW camper...it was so fun! We have 10 kitties here in Nashville, Tennessee, and one dog so we don't get to travel much, but LOVE your videos! We both have ancestors from Scotland, but are too old to make the trip over so very glad to get to travel this way. Glad y'all are traveling in the van now! From Scotland here also, my father's side. My mother's side, from Wales. My grandfather grew up and became a sheepherder, so he definitely knew about rough camping. I know where I get my imagination and independence. Shhhh...don't tell my mother. She says I'm "stubborn" 😅. She wanted lace and pretty dresses. Nah. Canna do. I want to make a trip to meet family.
Nala and Dean’s adventures take my mind off old age and the problems that often come with it, but I enjoy the videos of places where I probably won’t be able to go unless I go alone and leaving my husband behind with his bad back…so your travels lift me up and gives me hope for a better future for all ❤

I get so excited watching Nala look out the van windows and the windows on the ship..☺️ She was so intense!! Man I love your little Nala. She's a sweetheart 💕 💞 Thank you for sharing her with us.
I always wonder how much of her past life she remembers, and how much gratitude plays in her affection for Dean. They say strays know they were rescues, and grow more attached because of it 💜.

Many moons ago Sir Hew Hamilton Dalrymple was my boss, and a great one he was with his tremendous sense of humour. As well as Bass Rock he also had the last private railway halt on British railways and he could get the train to stop for him close to his "historic pile" when he took the night sleeper from London. Find memories indeed.

I really enjoyed seeing the trip to Bass Rock, something I would have never seen without watching your videos. It made me giggle to see Dean and Nala listening to the announcer and looking around together. Nala is such a good girl, it's like she knows everything that's going on and is so curious. 🥰🥰🥰
Enjoyed this sightseeing trip with the Nicholsons and watching a cat birdwatching. It was funny when I think it was the captain, said she's licking her lips lol! Dean makes a nice cushion for Nala when the sea got a bit choppy. Always ensuring that Nala is happy and safe 😻 Glad you all had a nice day
Thank you for our tour. How nice that I can sit in my comfy office in the middle of the US and travel to Bass Rock in Scotland. This is a tour I'd not have taken, even if I were vacationing in Scotland, so thanks to you, I've not missed it. I think Nala's happy to be back on the road. Dean, I saw a baby wasp while sitting on a bench. I didn’t scream or run, I just watched the little guy and thought of how cute he was. I thought of you and your rescued wasp. There was a time I did run into some wasps while in the woods and I was stung close to 15 times because I must have disturbed them somehow. I didn’t know; I was 8. When you said, “Wasps sting for fun, you were right. I’m not afraid of them or bees anymore. Thanks for reading. 🌸
If you panic and wave your arms about frantically, you've a good chance a wasp will sting. They're usually just looking for something sweet to eat or drink. A few drops of lemonade or similar and the wasp will drink and leave you alone. They're useful little creatures!
There was a time when I was refilling a water bowl outside for stray cats and dogs, when I realized there was a wasp with a lot of white markings that lifted up off the edge of the bowl. I didn't realize it was there and backed up a little and waited, and when it didn't try to sting me, I finished pouring the water. It flew back down to the edge of the bowl and continued drinking. I,'ve been stung by wasps before and it's painful, so I give them a wide berth. This little guy came back a couple more times to drink and never stung me. It was so cool!
@@lindadejonge good to know. I tried to wave away one on my deck. He finally came and bit on my thigh. I swiped if off. No pain like it! It swelled and the pain was deep. So I can truly sympathize with your much worse experience. Well, then no more arm flapping here just calmness while they're near by, but for me dread as well.

Have to say that I just loved seeing Nala sleep in her own little bed in the van after the trip to Bass Rock. She looked so utterly relaxed, comfy and happy!
Omg those tatoos, l am trying NOT to imagine the pain getting that done Dean! I've designed them but will never get one because l can't even stand getting needles to check my type2!! I am amazed to see the van be able to drive thru that bit of water. Some cars choke seeing a puddle, lol. Thank ❤️ You for the little family cruise! My only "sea voyages" were car ferries because l *DON'T like* not being able to see land at all times, but l think l could handle this boat ride, lol! Especially if l just shrink down to 6" & snuggle with Nala in her bag!!👍🏻😉 I'll just hide in there!🤫 The Gannets are pretty impressive -- 60mph fish dives!!🤯 WOW!!! Dean, this was a great video. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, the sky was blue with no chemtrails, and puffy, white clouds. It was great to see your mum, and Nala was zeroed in on everything, and looked so intent, her pupils were so small so she could focus on the birds. Thank you again for a wonderful day on the water in Scotland. How I wish I could be there!

Know the area well, used to have a caravan at Pease Bay, love North Berwick and Dunbar, went out to the Rock many years ago in a much smaller boat. Will be back as soon as I can manage. Looking forward to more videos when you get on the road north as well. Nala was enthralled by it all. 😻
Nala has such nice manners and social graces. Her sweetness around people, as long as she can see you, is charming. I love watching everything she does. My daughter used to put our camcorder down on the ground next to our cat’s bowl so we could all watch and listen to him eat later…lol so I live it when you let us do the sMe with Nala.

Hi Dean,Nala🐈 and Nicholson Family...Oh wow Dean what a way to start the day...brrrr its too cold for me ha ha ha What beautiful scenery and water. God made sure those birds 🐦 bodies and eyes were protected so they can dive into the water for their fish dinner 🐟 without any harm. One more reason to Believe in Him. Nala looks like she's enjoying herself 🐈 Did the cruise director say why there wasn't any grass on Bass Rock (that made the rock green)anymore especially since she said there was enough grass to feed 100 sheep🐑? I love all your vlogs, but really loved this one. Thanks so much! You always do such a beautiful job filming and editing. Really love seeing Nala LIVING HER BEST LIFE!! One of my cats is sitting next to me on the couch and I keep thinking how much he would have loved to be an adventure cat, and I did take him out quite a bit (in a pet stroller - I don't trust him on a harness and there's too many dogs around!) - which he loved. Right now I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery, so I can't take him on his walks, but hopefully soon, we can get back to the park. I live in Portugal (as an American expat) and the Portuguese get the biggest kick out of seeing a cat in a stroller! 😆

I visited a similar rock in Newfoundland , Canada, with puffins and garnets. Those little creatures are more tinier than I thought. Nala adds a sweet touch to that boat ride. I wonder what she thought of those larger birds than she's used to. The van is so much safer and secure for you and Nala. Not as impressive as a cat riding a man's shoulder on a bike, but I feel less worried.
Great thing about the van is Nala is always dry and warm. No worries like when you were on the bike. You have to take care of the wee lass! Much more secure, as well, than leaving her outside exposed to any stranger.
Dean I am so happy you are traveling in the van now. I will sleep better knowing you both are warmer and safer. You both bring so much happiness and joy to me and so many others. 💕😻

There was a time when I was refilling a water bowl outside for stray cats and dogs, when I realized there was a wasp with a lot of white markings that lifted up off the edge of the bowl. I didn't realize it was there and backed up a little and waited, and when it didn't try to sting me, I finished pouring the water. It flew back down to the edge of the bowl and continued drinking. I,'ve been stung by wasps before and it's painful, so I give them a wide berth. This little guy came back a couple more times to drink and never stung me. It was so cool!
@@lindadejonge good to know. I tried to wave away one on my deck. He finally came and bit on my thigh. I swiped if off. No pain like it! It swelled and the pain was deep. So I can truly sympathize with your much worse experience. Well, then no more arm flapping here just calmness while they're near by, but for me dread as well.

Have to say that I just loved seeing Nala sleep in her own little bed in the van after the trip to Bass Rock. She looked so utterly relaxed, comfy and happy!

Dean, this was a great video. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, the sky was blue with no chemtrails, and puffy, white clouds. It was great to see your mum, and Nala was zeroed in on everything, and looked so intent, her pupils were so small so she could focus on the birds. Thank you again for a wonderful day on the water in Scotland. How I wish I could be there!

Nala has such nice manners and social graces. Her sweetness around people, as long as she can see you, is charming. I love watching everything she does. My daughter used to put our camcorder down on the ground next to our cat’s bowl so we could all watch and listen to him eat later…lol so I live it when you let us do the sMe with Nala.

Hi Dean,Nala🐈 and Nicholson Family...Oh wow Dean what a way to start the day...brrrr its too cold for me ha ha ha What beautiful scenery and water. God made sure those birds 🐦 bodies and eyes were protected so they can dive into the water for their fish dinner 🐟 without any harm. One more reason to Believe in Him. Nala looks like she's enjoying herself 🐈 Did the cruise director say why there wasn't any grass on Bass Rock (that made the rock green)anymore especially since she said there was enough grass to feed 100 sheep🐑? I love all your vlogs, but really loved this one. Thanks so much! You always do such a beautiful job filming and editing. Really love seeing Nala LIVING HER BEST LIFE!! One of my cats is sitting next to me on the couch and I keep thinking how much he would have loved to be an adventure cat, and I did take him out quite a bit (in a pet stroller - I don't trust him on a harness and there's too many dogs around!) - which he loved. Right now I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery, so I can't take him on his walks, but hopefully soon, we can get back to the park. I live in Portugal (as an American expat) and the Portuguese get the biggest kick out of seeing a cat in a stroller! 😆

I visited a similar rock in Newfoundland , Canada, with puffins and garnets. Those little creatures are more tinier than I thought.
Nala adds a sweet touch to that boat ride. I wonder what she thought of those larger birds than she's used to.
The van is so much safer and secure for you and Nala. Not as impressive as a cat riding a man's shoulder on a bike, but I feel less worried.
Great thing about the van is Nala is always dry and warm. No worries like when you were on the bike. You have to take care of the wee lass! Much more secure, as well, than leaving her outside exposed to any stranger.
