    two-stroke or not, what a great bike.. KTM is really making awesome stuff, and they have so many sizes from two to four strokes to choose from too.. Goodluck with it have fun

      Yeah I love my 2 strokes and will never not have one in the garage but this 525 is amazing, I always thought the big bore 4 strokes would be intimidating but ktm has managed to make a monster feel like a pussy cat when you need it too and be able to blast past your mates on almost any bike with ease.

      +East Coast Trail Rider I like that. Was considering one but was a bit afraid of it. Now not so much. I've only ever ridden 2t 125/250 but am no means small I'm about 6ft 230lbs so I think this is the perfect trail bike for me. I'm not looking for speed or jumping I want the torque and gearing to trail ride

      Cheers Bruce, it was good day but an even better bike. This bike is now my supermoto ride. New video being made on sunday at lakeside raceway and released on monday hopefully. Thanks for watching

    Sorry to comment again but wow six gears on that big bore! That's really cool especially for the kind of riding you do at all different speeds through the trails.

    • @EastCoastOZSMEnduro
      @EastCoastOZSMEnduro  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its all good man, that's what its all about. Ive never owned a bike with six gears and I can say its still the same coz I want a 7th gear now! lol it never stops. So im throwing on a smaller rear sprocket to see how fast it can go until I go to far and bog down , which I think isn't going to happen. They say this bike can do 180 so if I get that im gonna be happy. The 1st and 2nd gear are really low and close together so its still fine in the tight stuff.
      Thanks for watching mate.

    That backfire

  • @EastCoastOZSMEnduro
    @EastCoastOZSMEnduro  10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    yeah the previous owner had put in richer jets so it pops like that when you back off but I like it. I reckon it would spit flames at night. should check that... In all the 160km's ive rode I have already melted the back right indicator from the heat of the exhaust!I

    • @93dakman
      @93dakman 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      East Coast OZ - SM/Enduro the popping sounds like a lean pilot jet. Not a rich problem.

      My exhaust on my 525 use to melt as well what you can do is loosen the bolts and twist the tip

    "Gotta love that electric start." Yes, because kickstarting a 510cc 4 stroke would be very painful.

      I have an '05 525, and at 66 years old, I find nothing "painful" about kick starting it....

    Hi mate! This winter i want to get one too, but a 06. Do you mind if i ask you how reliable it was so far? How often did you rebuild the engine if ever at all? How pricey is the usual maintanance? Thank you, have a nice day!

      I have the 06 model, great bike and no real difference in maintenance cost. Oil and filters every second ride by my own choice,air filter change every ride. Led to believe that mine is the last model with the RFS engine not %100 on that though. I’ve never had any engine problems or let downs with it. I had to change the suspension to suit my weight and height. Hardest thing to keep on it is the rear tyre. My bike has 103 engine hours and 2,300klms.

    what would you say the power is like compared to a 450 for supermoto? is it a massive difference?

    • @EastCoastOZSMEnduro
      @EastCoastOZSMEnduro  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Chiwi slower revving and less top end, more torque. lots of bottom n mid

    what exhaust ?

  • @rcman2010
    @rcman2010 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice bike! for a good price too. Hows it compared to the two stroke? like in the way you have to ride it. I have a fourstroke wr250. was thinking of changing to a 2 stroke enduro but i wasn't sure how much i would have to change my riding style. I am not a super agressive rider (most of the time) and i was wondering if i would then stuggle with a 250 or 300 two stroke just because of where the power comes on. Cheers Mate

    • @EastCoastOZSMEnduro
      @EastCoastOZSMEnduro  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man, the 2 strokes really need to be ridden hard or you will not get the most out of them, If you like torque plus awesome top end the 300 2T is the one. The 250 2 strokes really like to rev and prefer not to be torqued around. Ive never rode a wr250f but I would imagine it likes to rev. Even though the 300 is a big fast bike you don't need to ride it that way. Especially with the KTM exc.
      Thanks for watching matt and enjoy the trails.

    • @rcman2010
      @rcman2010 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      East Coast Trail Rider No worries mate, So it looks like the 300 2T is the way to go! yea im thinking of upgrading soon so ill be on the lookout for one! But thanks for the info on it. Its hard to find information on what the motors actually are like to ride! And hows the riding at mt tamborine? im looking for some new spots to ride and its not to far away. If so do you really need to be on a registered bike? thanks again mate.

      Hi matt, I have always rode illegal bikes when i was young and never been caught but its up to you if you wanna take the risk. If you don't piss off the locals its sweet as. no probs. Tamborine ridng is great but technically blocked right now. don't get caught in there. week day riding is best. park at the house pad at the end of caballo rd easy. Its mainly just fire trail but if you look hard enough you will find trails off the main track n then it gets fun. There is a waterfall and 3 creek crossings and a couple of hills. lots of clay. Have fun

      Yes mate I certainly do and it's up for sale at the moment. It's been meticulously maintained at 800-1000 km drain periods and always used fully synthetic Bel-Ray Ester. It's had 2 previous but has the full sleeve & booklet from the factory and all major services and work noted. For more information email me on crashbern@bigpond.com. Thanks for your interest and hope to hear from you soon. 😁😁
