After reading the whole translated novel, I must say the anime really captured ‘some’ of the moments. Hope they release more OVA and especially the unique ‘spiritual energy lending’ stance of the two, though, I still prefer the art style of the comic adaptation, the gouache/water color touch serves more in this Chinese webnovel.
