I love it when people discover the hurricane that was/is Patti LaBelle for the first time. Unfortunately you guys can only experience the best of her performances through avenues like TH-cam. Because when she was in her prime she was literally a force of nature that couldn't be touched. Sadly she is now almost 80 years old and her power has been greatly diminished. So you guys are only getting the crumbs of what she was capable of. But I'm grateful for outlets like TH-cam so that future generations can bear witness to the phenomenal talent that is Patti LaBelle.
When she said may you always sing a good ol song girl she was pointing to Whitney Houston who was sitting in the front row she was also honored that night!

The Godmother is STILL ABLE to be THAT FORCE! Give her a couple days of rest, and maybe learning the words (as in her tribute to the late, great Tina Turner) and she is still Unstopable. The raw energy was there but she forgot a few lines. But then, she's about to claim being 80. (I was reading about her tribute to Tine. She was still on fire and apologized for forgetting the words but still in high gear. She is STILL UNSTOPABLE!@@patgorden5002And with her younger years, people are now seeing what a force she was. I love the reaction vids of people seeing the one Philly Queen lighting up all stages with that voice and her dramatics. Long live LaBelle as she truly is "The Beautiful One"!!
LIVING LEGEND Ms. Patti 'BADASS' Labelle. In her prime, she was a vocal beast who was untouchable. There has never been/ there is none now/and there will never be another singer like Patti Labelle. She is one of those rare performers, who not only hear the music, she feels the music.
