Love your channel Hoon! Feels like I’m just hanging with another regular guy trying to figure out how to make some good coffee. I like that it’s not professional videos or professional opinions. Just casual coffee and casual viewing. A lot of miserable people on here criticizing for no reason. Keep doing what you’re doing and just have fun!
One of the best prosumer machines you can buy cost wise is the Rocket Appartamento . Will last years as long as you use correct water ph. Breville are quite simply cheap consumer machines. Maybe will last 5 years max
Just got my Bianca this weekend too! My shots have been pretty amazing. I got a light roast dialed in at 205F, 19g in 45out. Start at 2 bar for 5-6 seconds ramp up to 9 bar till 30g then drop off to 6 bar till 45g out is reached. I was using a Costa Rica single origin and I was able to get almost the full flavor profile(citrus, red grape, caramel) tasted so close to wine my gf who doesn't drink black coffee drank half my shot she liked it so much!
I'm itching to upgrade to another espresso machine, but I'm afraid to pull the trigger due to my concerns of maintenance and after services. Could you tell me how you came to purchasing your Bianca and not another machine? I'm looking at a cheaper lelit, Rocket apartment, Rancilio Silvia, around $1000-1500.
@@jk25653 tbh I got a bonus that bumped me up into the market for a machine this expensive. I compared costs and then chose this one for its cost and included features.
Hi Hoon. Wow some very rude people here.. I love your channel. Anyways.. if you look at a Londinium profile (lever profile) it can well go up to 12 bar before ramping down. So upto 11 on the Bianca is reasonable if you are flow profiling a Lever shot. By all means reduce the pressure but you're also reducing headroom and hence constraining the flow control options
@@josephmuglia4222 There is a modification one can make to the Breville Barista Express to insert a dimmer switch to the pump so that one can adjust the pressure. Hoon has been promising to do this for weeks. I have an Express and would be interested in seeing how this works.

I was about to order a VBM but I saw returned unit after returned unit on their site and then the whole line was removed from the sellers web site. I never found out why and never did buy one. Anyone know if they have issues?
@@harrydog6795 the initial batch had issues with some faulty parts and firmware bug. I was given a choice to exchange it for Profitec/ECM but decided to keep it because of its gear pump and 10 custom profile settings. I still see VBM as a company listed on their page and VBM still lists them as their only dealer in Canada, so I hope they will start to sell Domobars again.
@@Skfkf1393a I'm on a journey to make great coffee no matter how I make it. looking to try a E61 next then maybe a Decent? The exchange and fees are kind of high to import one. Will make a few changes to my Breville Infuser for now to keep me busy. You sound like you are in Canada as well?
I said it in the comments yesterday , I would adjust the pump to 9 bars. Lelit seems to send their machines out with the pressure set to high it’s the same with the Mara. I really think the ecm synchronika is a better machine for flow control. The way theirs works it goes from completely closed off up to 9 bar, you get much better control of the flow.

Exactly. He came up with the conclusion that the flow control made the shot "better" than the non-flow shot when he changed the grinder setting at the same time. This is why I feel the Bianca is not appropriate for this channel.
