Thank God for this news. God did not promise to take away my pain and difficulty. He promised to give me the strength to handle this. Yes, it’s about trusting God and relying on Him. I can’t deny all my problems, but I can choose to think positively and keep faith in the Lord. Faith requires me to face the realities of life and not become discouraged by them. I want to hold on to God’s promises, believe in God, and walk the path God has prepared for me. I will keep smiling on my face. Amen 🙏🏻
8:40 the Bible says take every thought captive… think of whatever’s true, excellent, lovely, honorable, joy….having gratitude. It doesn’t say lie to yourself. As an older man who has had faith tested and tested time and again. I can’t help but get frustrated with these types of messages, as many many times I have found that you can have deep live long dreams and step out in faith to achieve those dreams only to see time and again huge emotional, physical and mental trials to achieve those dreams only to be totally completely exhausted and broken and giving up. The lesson is God can do anything but he has the ability to say NO! Not for you. You can put your dreams and faith for dreams on the sacrificial alter and trust in God only to watch the dreams be destroyed. But you will never hear a message about God saying NO not for you!
I hear you brother. I pursued a dream from God after seeking counsel from my then pastor and praying about it for over 12 months. The business failed after about 2 years and it's taken 10 years for the business loan to be paid off. It's taken an unbelievable toll on my wife and I. At this point I'll be working until the day I die or the rapture, whichever occurs first
I know a man who has been stalking the same woman for almost 23 years. He has been in and out of jail and received multiple restraining orders because of it. To this day he believes that God is going to brung her to him and make her his wife one day. This sermon is one of the reasons why- he believes, sincerely, that if he trusts in the Lord’s timing he will have her. I am a Christian and I have found many things of value in Rick’s sermons. But how do you help someone like that?
If you can reason with them show them that trying to manipulate someone else’s will is not LOVE from God. That’s manipulation posing itself as “love” Or “faith”. These false versions of God’s traits are from the devil not God. Love and relationships involve 2 willing parties. If the woman does not want the relationship then he needs to learn that he is trying for force his own will and not listening to what GOD’s will is
Your man is not following this sermon at all. Rick literally uses a similar example of this in his sermon. He described a person waiting for decades on someone else to come running into their arms and Rick says that they should "Let it go!" I had to listen to this sermon multiple times to catch everything. You should give it another listen too.
The answer is this.. you keep your faith in God but you keep doing the right things. God can’t work on us if we don’t keep doing what is right. That is how God works.
I mean this in the most polite way possible, I would prefer to see Rick speak rather than these constantly changing images which distract the attention away from the word.

Calling Ishmael a son of sin is doing the same what a Jew does when he or she calls Jesus what they wrongly do. Ishmael had holy blood no matter what and was son of Abraham who was one of the most loved by God. How would you face Abraham in the afterlife or on the judgment day, calling a father’s son a son of sin? There is so much we don’t know about the story and may only know in the other realm if we’ll be worthy of it. May Lord Almighty always guide us to do all that he would like and respect not what he would be upset with. Love and respect for all is the only way to meet God’s love and respect.
