    So excited that I came upon this new series. My hubby turns 60 in October. He retired from 34 years of active duty about 6 years ago and I have been meaning to put together his USMC album. This step by step process is exactly what I need to kick me into gear. Thanks!!!!

      Well that made my day! I am so glad it will be helpful. Honestly, as I was getting started just over a week ago, I was wishing I could share this process somehow. Then quickly realized I could. I'm so glad you found it! See you next week!

    I am so happy you are documenting this process...I have two different gift albums I need to get going on and it's very much an inspiration for me to start organizing them.
    I'm a former consultant so I know very well how to do this, but I'm living in a much smaller place and trying to get organized after not scrapping for years. I know I can do it, and I know you will, too!

    I can't wait to follow along. You really think it can all go in one album??? I'm impressed how quickly you organized all that memorabilia, those simple sleeves are perfect.

    • @TheLazyScrapbooker
      @TheLazyScrapbooker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much, Sandy! Yeah, those pockets are indeed perfect! (And these are the pockets, not the sleeves. The pockets are open on one side and the sleeves on two. I knew I'd make a big mess if I used the sleeves for this project. LOL) One album is always my goal, but I am skeptical about this one already. I won't force it. It may very well take two. Thanks for watching and see you next week!

    Like you, I have to have the exact date if possible. I love my CM pen for writing the date on the back. I also make an outline with big projects, saves my sanity lol. I use the small power sort boxes with dividers that originally came with the big pallet sort box. It’s a life saver when I go to crops. Looking forward to the next video 😊. TFS

    How exciting! It'll be a lifetime memory book. Regarding the newspaper articles, will you put originals in the book, or will you print them on archival paper? Looking forward to watching the process.

    I’m sure that it isn’t safe for the album but when I was putting together my son’s scout album I added the Velcro dots to page and placed patches directly to the page or paper without completely gluing it down. It did add a small bulk but it turned out so nice!

    • @TheLazyScrapbooker
      @TheLazyScrapbooker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh, now that is a really creative idea! A little bulk is not a big deal if you can handle it. As long as the weight of an album doesn't exceed 8 pounds, it's all good! I think that sounds like a really cool idea. I love it when we sometimes can do something a little different like that. (And I think preserving the memory is the most important thing!) Thanks for watching!

    This is great! I have 3 first responders in my immediate family…still have to finish my husband’s album and he retired 10 years ago. I started his album with CM years ago…you are motivating me to finish. I have his brass buttons and bars from his uniform and not sure how to include them…ideas???

    • @TheLazyScrapbooker
      @TheLazyScrapbooker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh, that's so great! Thank you for sharing. Hmmm... brass buttons and bars... that's a tough one. I'm dealing with that same issue. I'm honestly not sure if they can be part of the scrapbook since they are so thick. Unless they were attached on the very last page at the end somehow. Still thinking on that one! If not, perhaps mounted on a frame or in a memory box.

    • @TheLazyScrapbooker
      @TheLazyScrapbooker  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Darlene! No worries! I get that question a lot - these are great shelves! I use the "Skadis" peg board and shelves from IKEA. They are very affordable, lightweigh yet holds alot of weight (clearly), and very easy to install. And that's ME saying that... I'm not good at that sort of thing. I've increased my capacity by turning the shape punches on their side and doubling up on the border punches.

      I can relate to the organization needed for your album. We went through that before my husband retired from the Navy after almost 23 years. He was a 🔥 fighter on his ships. He had a ton of certificates! Some were very large so we went to Kinkos & reduced the size while making a color copy. We also color copied the patches to save on bulk. I photocopied the newspaper clippings onto archival safe paper rather than putting them in the album. We went to every Scrapbook store in the San Diego area(there were a lot back then!) & he selected military & fire fighting papers, stickers & laser cuts. We also got one of those Navy albums that I had his name/rank gold embossed onto the cover. I helped him get started & made suggestions along the way but he did most of the work. We managed to have it finished in time for it to be displayed at his retirement ceremony/party. It is something he's very proud of & he likes to show it off. I thought he would want to help scrapbook family pictures/albums after but no, that was it. Can't wait to finish watching your Under Pressure series. I hope it all works out as planned!
