Thanks man. I live in the Adirondack Mts of NY and we have many lakes that have lake trout but I have never fished for them. Think I'll give your method a try,,,when we get safe ice.
Capt.Lee: Have been waiting for another video and you did not disappoint me. If you remember I learned alot of your lake trout tactics by accident in Green Lake Wisconsin when I was young and they are still spot on. I would love to fish with you at my favorite lake in Ontario. (Cedar lake).Sounds weird as I live in Florida huh?
@@darylgilbertoutdoors Capt.Lee: Cedar lake is about a third of the way north on 105 between Vermillion Bay and Red lake Ontario. Great musky, walleye, smallmouth and northern pike fishing.
Thanks! The ones I have in the video are smaller than I prefer but we’re all that were available at the time. If I could I would use a #2 if you can find them in the bladed treble
Hello Daryl, Thank you so much for the quality information. It will be our first time fishing for deep water lake trout in Lake Tahoe in the states next weekend. Do you think this will be an effective set up in Lake Tahoe? Also what size treble hooks are you using to attach to the bottom of the weight?
Hi Chandler, thanks for watching! It is definitely worth trying there if you can find a consistent amount of fish on a spot that would allow you to jig for them. The treble hook size I base off of the tube size. If I’m using smaller bass size tubes 3-4” I use a no 4 treble. For the larger tubes anything up to a no 1-2 sized hook
Hey Daryl-it's been a while between videos. Great to see your still after the ice fishing before it's over with this spring. I see your back east again, are you going back to Slippery this summer? What's up with Emily? Haven't seen anything of her in a while! Thanks for the great laker tutorial!! Enjoyed it :)
We are going into Slippery May 10 this year. Emily was guiding up north at Bakers most of the winter. Just got home yesterday so I have a bunch of footage to edit and get online before the snows show up!
@@darylgilbertoutdoors Hope Emily had a good experience over the winter up north. Are you going to be doing snows in Alberta or Sask ? I tired to get in with Cladio for snows and never heard from him, so I guess he couldn't find a spot for me. Good luck on the snows & I'm looking forward to seeing the new stuff when you get it posted.
@@paulehlers2225 Emily had a good time!, Heading to the Alberta lodge for April for snows, maybe some will show up in Sask here before I head out and we'll get a chance at them here before I head over.
Have you had any trouble with those blades coming off? I picked up a pack to try and both trebles lost the blade after one laker. Hoping it was just a bad batch because they work well.
I haven’t had any issues with them. The one on the bait in this video is still on the original bait it was put on and has caught a lot of lake trout on it
Great video man!!! Very good information!!! I like it when things actually make sense!!!
Thanks Lu!
Really good videos Darryl
Thanks

Thank you! Lots more coming. Also a bunch more lake trout videos I’m working on right now. Where is the cedar lake you fish? Near Kenora?
