I have one from 1974. Got it from a co-worker that damaged the tip that I repaired. Has the old style holster style sheath which I really prefer. Took many years to get the edge to a razor edge slim bevel. Handle has beat marks all over it. It just works!
Everyone can afford a Buck. I have had a 105 for many years. Thanks for your description of the 119 and its history, very interesting. Glad that you bought this one.
Love the Buck 119 and 120 as well as the 110. Such classics. If you want to search up a Buck 639 on the used market, you will be delighted if you can find one. They are a bit hard to find but they are excellent knives. They are a smaller version of the Buckmaster and much more down to earth. I have had one for about 30 years and will never part with it. The sheath that they come with is not the best, but the knife is fantastic for a true survival workhorse. By the way I bought another 119 yesterday and the sheath is still leather just like the one in your video.
Bought my 119 at a little PX down at Fort Erwin CA in July 1977. It was during my first National Guard camp. I keep it in my car.
Good to know the history. I picked one up at a garage sale years ago. It lives in my truck as an emergency knife.
Thanks for the history lesson
119 4 ever. Good video

I recently did. Thought I ordered a 117 and a 119 showed up. Held it for one second and liked it. Kept it. Ordered a 117 about 6 months later.
Very nice great classic design! Have a wonderful weekend!!
