      Good to hear you will be using it! Visit the discord of the game if you haven't already to find a lot of useful stuff and see their very fast progress on a new 3d printed adapter for the quest 2. They are designing it in a way that should improve a lot upon the quest 1 adapter. As the quest 2 controller isn't ideal to hold for TT I think an adapter like that will be a very good solution. Still haven't gotten one printed myself so I might make a little video about it when I do.

    Mind to share how do you create the drill and upload them to where? Do you create the drill inside the game then edit the json file? Or totally on PC?

      Best join the discord if you want to get to the bootom of this. Link is in the description. Generally I create the strokes in the game and order them and add descriptions and names in the JSON file on my PC.

    New to eleven but a fairly good player in irl. In irl I tend to load up and smoke forehands while watching my opponent, not the ball. In this game, my paddle seems to miss the ball when I do this. Do I need to stare at the ball for every shot?

    • @AlexTTBCN
      @AlexTTBCN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not exactly. Tracking picks up quite fast, but it helps at first, because there is a lot that can affect the tracking. The biggest issue is waiting with your bat back and out of view of the cameras. As long as you keep your bat in view between strokes and swing back and forth in a fluid motion it should track better too. Also it sounds like you are on the quest. There is a tracking improvement ready to be released for the game. If you want to try it out ask for access to the preview version of the game on their discord.

    how nice!!! do those drills help you in real table tennis as well? i m a tt player and i want to exercise at home with eleven table .. will this help me in real table tennis as well?
    also do i need to have the pc steam version for pc in order to use those drills you have on github or i can do it on with oculus software as well without a pc? I m asking because you suggested straight oculus eleven from steam in order to play without a pc

    • @AlexTTBCN
      @AlexTTBCN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You just need the oculus 2 headset and the game installed, no pc required. To train for real life get a version of the sanlaki adapter for the quest 2. And yes it works for real life but you might have to look at your paddle settings and make them as close to your rl paddle as possible as opposed to what feels best in the game. If you make what feels best in the game, you my create a monster that doesn't easily transfer into real life. 1 on 1 paddle integration (real paddles having specific settings in game) will come further down the line for the game. If you are worried about anything not being realistic just think of it as very motivating shadowplay.

    Hey Alex, love this tutorial. Is there any way to produce a drill to simulate playing against long pips or anti?

    • @AlexTTBCN
      @AlexTTBCN  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That really depends. As in real life, right now we set all the parameters of the ball launcher. So if you mean heavy backspin from the second or third line for example, yes, no problem, but at the moment that doesn't depend yet on the spin of your own stroke. That's an interesting concept though, deciding the next shot based on the amount of spin produced by the player.

    Damn nice ! I wish I had the space to progress my skills past a 400 ish rank. But I'm pinned on all sides and can't really move...

    • @AlexTTBCN
      @AlexTTBCN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah. For sure one of the best ways for more expansive but still controlled movement in VR without losing your bearings. If you're on the quest though it might be easier to find a better location. I have the table generally mostly over a sofa to win some space. I have played in the garden during the summer too which was very nice when it comes to space. In competition though I also don't pivot in general because I don't have as much space as I made for this video. With a solid Backhand and forehand though you can go a long way already with little space but more space will be beneficial for the quality of your Footwork and as a result your strokes.

    • @ClownXmachina
      @ClownXmachina 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexTTBCN True. But For my setup, I have to be careful not to hit the physical table on my right and some furniture on the left, which puts a lot of strain on my movements. When crypto plays out for me, I'm moving out into something with freedom. Lol I'd love to play one or two matches against you, if you have some time.

      In the video it was something like this:
      Forehand
      Bounce 60
      Spin 79
      Throw 1.25
      Backhand
      Bounce 78
      Spin 85
      Throw 1.25
      Since changing my irl bat I have lowered my Backhand bounce to 65 and spin to 80 and throw on both sides to 1.21. A slower bat allows me to use more of my own power without losing control. At the moment my high speed strokes on a fast blade move too slow in VR making them feel hard to control on my fast bat irl. Mind you my attacks have become more powerful when they land with either bat irl so something works already but I play from a point of control so I hold back too much if my bat feels too fast. Don't have time irl to train for control with the faster blade so I'll wait until I can train for it in VR before switching back (if I ever switch back. The lighter slower blade feels very good). There are a couple of fixes planned that should help a lot with transfer of skill between VR and Rl.

      Bounce bastante bajo: 55, Spin también: 70 (mas puede ser mas facil pero es poco real) , throw 1.15-1.17. Low bounce todavia es rapido en el juego corto pero mas lento a velocidad mas alta. Pero asi tendras mas control. Si quieres un bounce que cuadra con golpes rapidos el juego corto es menos real. Suerte!

    @xsagradoxcorazonx 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Asking for some help / question i had. So I've really been enjoying this game lately. I'm currently at around 2100 points in ranked and I've noticed some players who have just a ridiculous amount of spin on all their shots without much effort at all. Is this just due to their paddle settings or are they just so much better than me at spinning it? I personally don't enjoy these games at all since they seem to just have that one spin shot and the games are really boring.

    • @AlexTTBCN
      @AlexTTBCN  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can create good spin in the game sometimes with less than perfect techniques, but nothing impossible to return. If you notice your opponent doing a stroke that you prefer not dealing with (that happens at all levels by the way) just try to make it harder for them to play those strokes. Play towards their elbow, keep the ball low, add some extra backspin. The interesting part of table tennis is finding a way to stop your opponent from playing their winners and creating opportunities for yourself. It can be hard at first and if these players I higher ranked there is no shame in playing a bit more with lower level players to gain some confidence and challenge those spinny players when you are ready to try to stop them with something new. Just make sure you are still having fun, because that will make it much easier to analyse what is going on when you meet a player like that.

Cuanto realista es el juego, en sensación de pala? , en los movimientos de pies, te mueves igual? Sirve para entreno? Puedes jugar dobles? Si me puedes decir q pala usas i q gafas vr

      @AlexTTBCN  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Es bastante realista ya, pero mejora todo el rato. De momento hay nueva version en beta con tracking mucho mejor (si te juntas al discord del juego lo podrias probar tambien). Tambien en beta se puede jugar dobles. Estan trabajando en hacerlo bien estable antes de compartirlo pero ya he organizado un torneo de dobles en el beta www.twitch.tv/alexttbarcelona/v/842729510?sr=a&t=31976s. Intebtare hacer otro video del evento el mes que viene. Los pies les mueves igual si jueges sin cable y cuando tienes confianza. Mas facil con el launcher que en multiplayer, pero no hay lilite en tu movimiento mientras tienes espacio. Sirve para entreno facilmente si juegas o entrenas en vida real al menos una vez por semana. Sino tienes que pensar que es como jugar con lentes de contacto comparado con gafas. Las dimensiones son mas o menos correctos pero lo veras un poco distinto. No hay problema si entrenas ambos casos, pero si entrenas solo can gafas, despues es mas dificil cambiar a lentes porque te has acostumbradototalmente. Si no tienes esta experiencia, es difícil explicar que pasa. Quizas como acostumbrarse a un pala nueva y volver a la antigua. Uso un cornilleau calderano foco + con dignics 05 y 09c en el drive. En RV utilizo el quest 2 aunque los videos he hecho con el quest 1. Suerte!
