    Wallace talking to the cops is rough because you know he's just a kid who was never cut out for that life, and it weighed on his conscience. But that didn't matter in the world he lived in and he faced the consequences.

  • @sweeneytodd011
    @sweeneytodd011 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The rat / informing situation comes down to a few things, while i agree personal responsibility is a righteous way to look at it but punitive sentencing over drugs is key, its hard no doubt to stand tall when you're looking at twenty years and you got pressure from cops as well as promises and there's nobody going to help you, the crew going to stand up for you and your family? Twenty years? Twenty minutes maybe, or until the court case is over at the most then you can sit with your righteous self for twenty years.
    The sentences are disproportionate is what I'm saying for non violent crime. Rapists, sex offenders, even murderers get less jail time some times.
    Then you got addiction, an addict is going to give up anyone and anything rather than climb the walls in a cell if they can, they got that to deal with before anything else and it's powerful, beyond powerful, people give up their own for a fix trust me on that.

    Omar's goal is to take down the whole Barksdale crew, not just Avon. By ANY means necessary. Omar HAS to payback Brandon's loyalty. That is how Omar is taking responsibility. Just because you would let Brandon's tortured death pass, doesn't mean Omar will. This story just started, and Omar will make himself understood in the future, so hearing your rant about Omar is actually kind of funny. You have NO idea what's coming. Let's just say that, Omar will ALWAYS try to get's his payback.

      @@eternal47777 Dude, did you forget about Omar taking out Stinkum? Did you forget about Omar almost killing Avon outside of the club? Isn't that Omar taking care of business? Look at it this way, Omar is all by his lonesome. No one has his back. He is using the cops for protection during the parley because he is being hunted. Remember when Omar talked to the cops in the basement after Brandon was killed? Even the cops know that Omar is going to take care of things himself, that's why the cops brought him in after Stinkum was killed. They knew he did it, they just couldn't prove it.

    People can get entitled about shows that inspire their passion. I would say try not to let that undermine your experiences. Being pushed to watch something can poison it, unfortunately. The only relationship that matters is the viewer and the show. The rest of us aren't even here. If someone starts losing perspective, just tell them to buy a pet or a houseplant or something. This is the best TV show ever made, and nothing should interfere with anyone's experience of it.

      Personally I rank it above breaking bad. Bb is amazing dont get me wrong, but I think what tips the scales for me is just how all encompassing the wires themes are and how big the cast is. Torture is not, that's personal and Omar by using the Boys is trying to get info like he did to find Avon. Like you said if you lost a mom or someone close there'd be no rules. At least warn your friends things are getting messy and they should lay low. Omar was being super emotional, not realizing what he was doing to his people and then for some reason wouldn't recognize that he was doing after it happened. Preach on Omar! I think my last comment about him was deleted so I’ll just say you said it perfect about omar and being a rat.
    Side note everyone has own opinions but stringa and avon are like brothers childhood friends. He’s not trying to take over at all. He’s basically 1b to bff avon 1a.

    And I agree 100% with you about bubbles and Omar i hate them both they lack accountability think they can do anything to anybody but play victim when karma get them people just love to pick and choose and make excuses to justify shit.

    I really like your reactions and thoughts on The Wire. The main reason why is because even if I disagree with some of them it's clear that this is something you believe in and stick by, so I have to respect that.

    Broooo at last! I am busy with school but when I have time I am gonna check out some of the other shows you react to, as your reacts are so GENUINE and NUANCED. Even when I disagree with you, I find myself sympathizing with your POV, and reevaluating my own beliefs. Keep it up dude!!

      Speaking of entitlement. I guess you could say I am a typical middle class white guy lol. As a teen, my reaction to some of the wire on my first watch was WAY different than yours. Looking back as a grown man I recognize now that was because I was living with a kind of tunnel vision. Life is about expanding your perspective and trying to understand others. Only through dialogue can people come to any kind of peace ✌
