How NOT to use the Expert Grill Charcoal Pizza Oven

  • Here is a video showing one of the last pizzas I was making on this night. I forgot to look at the basket before going inside and when I came back out with the Pizza, the fire was almost out.
The pizza still cooked but it was more crunchy than that soft airy taste you get when the pizza bakes in just 2 to 3 minutes.
I think in the future, I will wait 10 to 15 minutes before making the next pizza. This will give the pizza stone to heat up more since the door was open the whole time making the previous pizza. This will also give the fire time to start and get really heated.

This happened to me the other day. Was doing 6 pizzas and half way through the fire went out. Decided to not launch the pizza and wait for the fire to get a little hotter while frequently shaking the peel a bit. It did look a little sad going in though

Is this a thicker stone than the one it comes with? I have a second pizza stone I’m thinking about stacking with the one it comes with to add mass to the stone surface.

On your pizza oven do you always cook the whole pizza with the door off.

    • @pizzafanclub
      @pizzafanclub  ปีที่แล้ว +4

Yes, I find it works easier and I can see what is going on so I don't burn the pizza.

Looks good to me, I put my door on...but only for a minute or so at a time

I find closing the door in the 2-3 minutes it takes to bake the pizza can just lead to burning the pizza from my experience. I run a really hot fire and need to watch that back dough rise and to know when to spin it

    Can you use wood pellets

    • @pizzafanclub

I haven’t tried yet but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I have been meaning to try it but keep forgetting to get pellets. Thanks for reminding me.

The Oven needs to be at 800 degrees. The way you are cooking it, Moses baked bread, in the desert, using the Sun the same way ✡👍

Holly shit Batman. How the hell did you guess I was a pizza making moose? You got that part right but not then desert 🐪 😂 I’m actually in Alaska. Thanks for watching.

      Great Job❗
I have that same Oven from Walmart. But must say you got WAY better with it than me. There is a learning curve with everything. Thanks for your Videos 😊

I’m in Alaska too. Will this get hot enough to cook in winter? Well not at -50 but say a balmy 0?

@@mikefoster8144 hey Mike, I was just joking with that user about me being in Alaska. I’m in New York but upstate where it does get cold but nowhere near Alaska temps. I have cooked it below freezing temps in the rain and it made some good pizzas. This video shows one of the last pizzas I made that night and I wasn’t paying attention to the fire. If you look in the video you don’t see the nice flame coming out the oven. The pizza was still done and tasted good but not as good as when it cooks in 2-3 minutes.
I think if you put some stones/rocks around it for some extra insulation then you should be able to make some good pizzas. The key is using nice dry wood chunks instead of charcoal or lump charcoal.

This, because I see the same thing almost everyday now. It's nice but I really wanna know whats the secret to this mans dough.

I'm sorry that I'm making your head spin with all the pizza spinning hehe.. Right now I'm lazy to make my own dough, I added links to the dough I'm using in some of the videos. I usually get this dough from Walmart goto.walmart.com/c/3425733/565706/9383?veh=aff&sourceid=imp_000011112222333344&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.walmart.com%2Fip%2FPizza-Buddy-Pizza-Dough-16-oz-Bag%2F10448680 then I split it into 2 and then I re-ball it and put it in the fridge, then when I'm ready to make pizza I take it out and let it rise up. I can do a video on this if it's something you want to see. I just don't think I'm doing anything special, but happy to share.

Showing the hardest part of the whole pizza making process. As you can see from my videos, spinning too fast or too slow, will affect the pizza a lot. The best way to learn is to just practice over and over, so that is why I just record myself so I can track my progress. I think decided to upload them to TH-cam to share with people but I'm a complete noob to pizza making. I don't make my own dough so I didn't think anyone would want to see that process. I'm just using the dough from Walmart which makes it easy and quick pizzas goto.walmart.com/c/3425733/565706/9383?veh=aff&sourceid=imp_000011112222333344&u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.walmart.com%2Fip%2FPizza-Buddy-Pizza-Dough-16-oz-Bag%2F10448680
