Unpopular opinion but these DJs should be sharing track ids in their mixes as a mark of respect and credit to the people who produce the tracks. I used to think the same but i think people should be made aware of these tracks so they can buy them and support the artists. If someone uses an image of someone else in the newspaper they always give credit. Why should djing be any different, i dont care how long you digged. Its someone elses work that you are making money off the back of.
Hi Damian, what you feel is admirable but please also consider this.. almost all tracks with a digital release are easily foundable with Shazam. For vinyl, just because you know the track and want to support the artist it's mostly not possible because they are either old, or if new, mostly sold out already. So the only solution would be buying second-hand. Not supporting the artist one penny, but another mostly greedy human being on Discogs or other similar services. If you want to support artists, you can do so without someone else posting those IDs for you. Have a great one!
