- Everyone helped me with the cleaning of the branches from the trees that I've cut down in the previous videos and I also showed my son for the first time, how to use the chainsaw that I gave him for his birthday.
Thank you for watching!

It's a good day when there's a Nik video
So true
Hear Hear !
Hard working family. Enjoy your videos. You do beautiful work. It is very artistic.
Wonderful to see your son helping you!😍🇨🇦
It is so nice watching Nik, working cutting woods and his family children helping, kudos to you Nik and u’r family’s they are very helpful….
I really love the trees but you cut it for good purpose well you have my respect
Good felling, delimbing, bucking, and clean up 👍
It is really awesome to watch how you teach your son to use the chainsaw and how to correctly fall timber. Father and son team working together. Does it get any better than this? Maybe when he teaches his daughter the same thing. Great video of a family working togther!
very impressive
I've watched you take down and remove about thirty trees Nik are you about to build another log house?
I'm telling everyone that you're one of the hardest people I've known, in fact I would say that you are the hardest working man apart from myself, 😂😂. Take care of yourself though that is a hard hard job. Your family will learn how to work and live in such a hard world.
Thank you for letting us all have a glimpse into your own world, I for one am grateful for that.
An expert cutting trees ! The kids are getting so big compared to when I started watching you channel. such good workers. Glad to see you are able to get a new tractor. Bet it really helps to drag those logs out. I'm sure the other one was good also. Didn't see when that one stopped being used. Glad tosee you are back and look forward to you future plans.
I always had the same tractor, I never changed it. I don't know why you think I got a new one. We have this tractor in family for at least 20 years. Thank you for watching!
❤❤❤❤
Bravi ragazzi.Lavoro ben fatto.Saluti da Koper-Capodistria.
Beautiful video!!!!
I so miss working in the woods. At the age of 70 though, there's a good chance I could hurt myself, no matter how much I try to deny it...
Watching the video of you and your family working in the woods is a good substitute though.
Especially teaching your son.
Thanks!
Menyala Abangku 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nik, would you have liked to have had those big logs years ago when you first started to build your cabin?
Yes, but when I decided to build the log cabin I chose the smaller trees and left all the bigger trees, I never planned on cutting them. I like them in the forest and for me was not easy see this big trees go down. It was either me taking them out out in time or leaving them to rot in the forest. And leaving them to rot would get me in trouble with forest inspection.
@@nikrijavec47 I'm surprised those trees have such a fixed lifetime, but I feel your hurt. Big trees are a gift, and have worked hard to reach their size. In my crazy country we might start a revolution if the gov't told us what trees to cut down in one's private forest!
👋👍
So far i see it there are a lot of dead trees they must come down to make place for the new ones. Now sunlight can come down to the ground. Young trees need a bit more sunlight.
Possible you can use trees for new building projects.
Bois de chauffage ? Ca fait beaucoup de réserves quand-même !!!

You should be wearing tree cutting pants for safety.
Ok, Karen.
I find it strange that the person is cutting down trees (in a foreign forest)?! He probably doesn't have much respect for nature, even if he was cutting it down on his property. A tree grows for tens, hundreds of years, and then someone comes with a chainsaw...
If you go to my previous video and read the description you might understand why.
@@nikrijavec47 You are a Legend Nik !
i dont know it by myself but i think we can call you Nik the Forester :)
Some People need to understand cutting down a dead or ill tree is something good for the Forest itself.
Its quite similar to the Ocean where predators eat the ill fish so the whole ecosystem is healthy and can work in its own complexity
Thanks for the answer. I don't watch all of our videos but I found this one after your tip and I apologize. The bark beetle is very widespread here (mainly in evergreen forests) and I know what it can do. However, there are also alternative ways to reduce bark beetles. However, these alternatives are suitable for large forestry...

@@JosefMukulas hey josef this is no problem. You can do something which not many people can do -> apologise and to readjust your opinion :) this is a really good virtue/goodness.
And yes i agree with you the bark beetle itself can damage or kill a whole Forest.
And just a little remark : Also there are regions where some bugs were adventive (hope its the right word for it) and unless you dont do things about it the ecosystem gets destroyed
Fun Fact: big forest fires are in SOME cases gooD because of a „reset“ for nature
Good morning from Minnesota USA! I love that you're teaching the kids the value in hard work!! Well done!
Nick, you are the only one who cleans the forest after you make a harvest. And when you bring your family, your kids are learning the value of your practices.
A lot of cleaning is yet to be done, for I saw a lot off logging and more cleaning in the beginning with the family and some on your own. You could use a would chipper
Happy Birthday young man.
Nick, you should be proud of how hard your family is working. Especially lumber jacking witch is hard work by itself! It's been a while since I saw kids work that hard!!!!Keep raising them right, you and your family will reap the rewards!!Nice video.
I love the way yours kids work right along you and wife. A lot of good things will from that.
You could see the boys confidence and enthusiasm drastically change from the beginning of the video to the end! Great job of teaching/coaching him Nik! He’s on his way to becoming a good man just like you! Well done. Cheers from Minnesota USA.
How far up nort? Minnesota here.
@@damogranheart5521 8 miles short of the border! Bout as far nort as you can get without being at the Northwest Angle.😉
I expect that a lot of viewers might not be comfortable with your letting you son use a chain saw. But they are wrong.
It is a dangerous tool, but he has watched you for years, and he is well supervised, he has the appropriate protective gear, and he is starting with very small trees. This is much better than video games that teach him how to kill people.
Everyone is getting good clean exercise while taking care of Mother Nature. More kids need time in the woods.
Welcome back missed u
Divno, super
NIK CONGRATULATIONS THE FAMILY IN THE JOB PERFECT VERY GOOD VIDEOS BRASIL GOIAS
Some families go to the beach so their children can collect sea shells.
Then there are some families that go to a forest so their children can collect falen leaves from different spices of trees.
Your family goes to the forest and says, "Forget the leaves, let's take the whole tree instead."😂
Nice to see you out and about with the family Nik. I found it quite refreshing watching you teach your son how trees should be felled. Keep it in the family, that's what I say.
See you again soon, fella.⚒️🏴
Your daughter is looking a lot like your wife.
back when I was a kid, we had to cut wood for heat. I don't miss it, but while my sisters helped a bit, most of the work was me after Dad had brushed the limbs and sectioned the logs, half the time it was just me and him doing the work, and the bigger chunks my sisters were not going to be able to move, anyway. Once we got the wood home I had to split and stack it as a daily chore. As much was oak and elm, we borrowed a splitter from either of 2 uncles. Ash got made into kindling. All winter my job was to keep the wood box in the basement full. The back porch with the stairs down had a door in the wall above the landing so it could be tossed down, then I'd clamber over it and fill the boxes. Our furnace was efficient enough that loading it at night it burned all night, then Dad tossed some in before going to work, I'd check and maybe add a bit when I got home from school.
Nik, I totally admire the fact that you 'leave no trace' in that beautiful forest.
That must be some project you’re planning with all that timber you harvested. Beautiful, straight trees you have. Makes for beautiful, straight structures. And good job cleaning the forest, saving the rest of the forest. Have to go and take a nap now after watching you work. Definitely a young man’s work.
In America, there is a serious shortage of young men and women who enter the trades. Carpenters, Electricians, Plumbers, Landscapers, Heavy Equipment Operators and a lot more trades I can't think of. They all work at fast food restaurants because nobody taught them how to do things safely. They have Bachelor's Degrees from some College and they are working at Mickydees.
Wspaniała robota ,planowa i potrzebna. Podziwiam całokształt Twojej i rodziny. Oglądam Twoje filmy od paru lat, Pozdrawiam WAS.😆🤠👍
you're a hard working family and still dont forget to have fun! And your son became proficient with the chain saw real fast and its obvious that he likes it! Its great that you thought him!
Are the strong winds accompanying snow normal? They're on the verge of being dangerous.
Thanks for filming again Nik. 😁👍🏼
What is the purpose of cleaning the forest is that for park used
Anyway I don’t know if the land is yours is it?
TAK!!!
Nik apakah disana tidak dilarang oleh pemerintah memotong pohon dihutan?
His work is very good etc, but there won't be any trees left by the time he's finished !!
:13 good job family wow just saying!
Does the tree have an owner and has anyone received permission to cut the tree?
Até que fim, depois de tanto tempo 😮
I always wanted to know if it is your property where you cut the trees or if it is your job, what criteria do you use to select those that will be cut and if at some point you carry out reforestation?... I love your videos, Greetings!
Yes I wonder that too. No real old growth forests allowed, I guess 😏
That was good! Dean (Soul) Toronto
Thank you , Nik .
🐺Loupis Canis .
Is there no other way to get rid of the beetles?
Por que, está derrubando tudo??
이제 아들이 청년이되어 아빠를 도우네요
It's so nice to see you all working together
But plz grow new trees
The reason he's taking so many trees all at once was mentioned in an earlier video, there's some kind of tree bug spreading in the area right now, and they have to get rid of the infested trees quickly. Presumably that's not the ideal time to focus on replanting (but also, it's a forest, which means fertile land, which means that whether or not you intentionally plant trees, new trees will grow once they get the sunlight to do so - which they now will, because a lot of the old trees aren't blocking the light any more).
Great Job all you guys! Ita nice to see the whole family in the forest working aswell as old and new Husqvarna chain saws, with some luck I might be able to get my grandfarthers old Husqvarna 340 SG form the late 70ties going again :)
Great team effort, I'm so impressed! about 3/4 in i realized i had a huge grin plastered to my face the whole time. Your son is almost a grown man, so impressive! i can't believe how truly impressive his work is too. and your little princess with her fabulous swishing stick. Everything, I loved this video♥
Nic nack patty wack, sit back, give nic a log, and he'll build you a cabin even in the fog, NIC IS THE
Awesome
Hello Nik it’s nice to see your family out helping you clean away the debris from felling all them trees that were effected by the pine tree bark beetles and seeing you put as much of the wood to good use one way or another even if that’s fire wood. The wife and daughter did a great job collecting the green branches and then your son getting and learning how to fell trees along side off you. I bet he was well chuffed with his chainsaw and been able to fell the trees along side you what an honour for him.😊😊😊loved you video as per normal. See you on the next episode.😊😊😊😊😊😊
Momentos bons com família reunida😊 Deus abençoe vocês..maravilhoso vídeo
Aloha Nik 🌴 Man you been busy ! Good to see you teaching your Son and the importance of always safety first 👍 🌲 Can't wait to see what your next big project is gonna be ?
What factors do you consider when selecting trees?
I didn't select them, the forestry inspection did and they selected the ones that were dying or were already dead. Some in the video look totally fine, but on a closer look you can see they were dying under the bark.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for your hard work and response. I think some people maybe relieved to know the answer.
All the best from a Kiwi living in Seoul, South Korea.
Thanks you... great being out in the forest with you and the family! Stay safe... and free!
Kkkkkk
Hey Nik and family, it’s always good to see y’all videos. Please stay safe and God bless y’all! 👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
Please tell your children that an old guy from America said 'Good Job'.
According to your latest comment on Nik's new video, you have been watching him for a long time but you didn't know that's not his children 😂
I don't pry into families. That is none of my business.
@@glenlongstreet7 excuses hahahaha
Your boy isn't a child anymore. He's becoming a hard working man.
There is a fundamental satisfaction in watching a family work together! Thank you for recognizing that. Nice work!
Nick good job, how nice your family helping you cleaning the wood.
Beautiful family working together
Nik, wonderful forest work and with the family too. Well done!
16:41 Nik sta iniziando a sviluppare l'accento veneto-friulano😂
Cant believe u took down two trees at same time, now that is just showing off 😂😂😂😂😂
I also like seeing you enjoy yourself and with your family.
Great video!! You guys work really hard. 🌲🌲🌲
That's a lot of work. Good thing you have some great helpers.
Nik Jr. Rijavec means two videos per week :)
Cheers 🍻 to good health and happiness for you and your family.😊

I’ve been watching for several years and can’t figure out what continent this is happening on. I see that Nick is Yugoslav, but his wife is Spanish-speaking. Tell us, huh?) What part of South America?
He is Slovenian and she is Italian and they live in Slovenia .
@@MegaTrdi Are there such forests in Slovenia??? That's it, the Russians are coming to you)
Yes this is in Slovenia.
@@HellgardGumbert Yes with chinese golf buggies 🤣🤣
@@MegaTrdi Just my wife and I are choosing where to live without the Kremlin
Curious, do you own the land that these trees are on?
WoW! What a hard work you all did. Great working spirit. Certainly children.💝🙏🕯❤️
You should switch to an electric saw 🙉
Genau so haben wir es auch gemacht, früher.
Jetzt bin ich zu alt dazu.
Es ist wunderbar, wie diese Familie zusammenhält
Thanks for the video Nik!
Hey Nik,
Man, your kids are getting big! I love that you are exposing them to a different way to live on the mountain. I look forward to the next phase of your families place on the mountain. All my best to you and your family man.

It's how I live since I can remember. When I was a kid it was normal, now very few live like we do. All the best to you also, have a good day and thanks for watching!
Cutting down the diseased trees will certainly open up the forest floor for new growth. I keep forgetting the country you live in , please tell me again. Ya never know this 80 yr old man might come and visit, lol.
Slovenia
Nik encantado de volver a ver tus videos de acopio de madera supongo que para realizar un proyecto nuevo, estoy expectante para ver la maravilla de sorpresas que nos viene, como decimos en España suerte y al toro. Saludos a toda tu familia.
Nice to teach the young man how to do it ..
All those beautiful trees cut down. I hope you’re planning to build something with them.
Only taking what he needs from the forest, making room for all those beautiful little trees to grow into beautiful big trees, and by clearing the forest floor it gives the beautiful little seeds space to grow into beautiful little trees and so on.
Nik knows how use and care for his forest.
Nik you should build a small cabin up in the woods where your family can go for a weekend. A good father and project.
I was thinking a starter cabin for Birthday Boy. They could all built it together, yes! Wouldn't that be fun to watch😍
Det är väl dags för en sly yxa till dottern ?
Trattore nuovo !! Complimenti !!!
The big boy has got his own chainsaw now! I wish my father would get me one of those when I was his age. Well done to him, its amazing how much more can be done when there is a team of two instead of a one man army. So nice to see the proper team work. Lots of love from Hungary...
and its amazing how much more can be done when there is a team of four!
Bravo à vous et votre famille 😊
