Every time i use my Foreman grill i think of Bog George . I used his grill yesterday when i watched the Fury wilder fight with a comrade . Such a likable fellow . George re invented himself and caused the mothers of all upsets age 45 . oldest champ ever. Turned logic on its head . I shall never forget it . Will Wilder be able to get humble and reinvent himself and become an agreeable likable fellow like Bog George ? NO WAY. Wilder does not have the brains or the charm. I rise my glass to BIG George . I abstain from rising it for wilder . A sore and very bitter loser who is full of hate an loathing . I even noticed that Wilder is not particicualary liked by fellow americans apart from his die hard voodoo fans .

It's hard to control that damn ego as a young man. I think we are all guilty of it. Wilder never improved on anything bc of it. I never seen a champion with almost no skills win a belt than Wilder. It's the oddest thing I've ever seen in boxing. Once Fury took away his right hand, he showed the world that he was a one trick pony. It's weird to me that so much better boxers that faced Wilder couldn't figure that out. Get inside & push him on his heels. I said this from the beginning. Ortiz tried to counter punch him. The thing I like the most about Big George, is his humility. He took the time to praise all his opponents, win, lose or draw. Takes a strong man to build another man up, at the possible expense of his own legacy (in the public’s opinion).
The more you praise your opponents, the greater your achievements when you beat them. Think about it. “My opponent was a bum! He was useless! He was hopeless!” Oh right. And that’s who you beat? Tough, was it? That’s why Wilder’s reaction was so disgusting when he was beaten, especially since he boxed better than he had in a long time. What a waste.
This man is a legend the way he reinvented himself it’s so impressive. And from his presentation all that boxing didn’t take away his ability to evaluate the match coming to the conclusions. George you’re awesome

I’m just-now turning 62, and I remember your great sportsmanship; especially during the Olympics and you holding up the American flag and you were subsequently ridiculed. I also remember, when you fought Joe Frazier from Philly. You hit him with a right upper cut, so hard his feet lifted off the canvas. I have to say I was pissed off at you, only because I was born and raised from North Philadelphia and real close to where Joe worked prior to becoming a boxer. Sugar Hill Steward will get the credit for Tyson Fury's win. However, it was not for John Fury, TF would have lost that fight. If JF had not insisted that TF come back to London to relearn his elusiveness and awkwardness, TF would not have used both that style and the Kronk style in the fight against Wilder. If TF solely relied on the guidance from Hill Steward, he would have lost in the 5th round. After all, he was knocked down twice by Wilder because he was too one-dimensional. Once TF applied the elusiveness and other Team Fury boxing skills,he was able to escape from Wilder's clutches to eventually get the victory.

I am a great admirer of George Foreman. He seems like such an honorable and courageous man. I wish he would head to Washington and lead our country during these very difficult days. He would win a seat in Congress in a landslide. We sure do need him IMO.
I have always loved him too. I never thought about him for office. But now that you said it, I can’t get it out of my head. He would have been tremendous. My step dad worked on one of his houses in the late 90’s. He came home with autographs and stories about how gentle and kind hearted he was at that time. Which he said was so weird to see, knowing who he was and all. But the best part was that he said that even though he was kind and gentle. He said he had this intimidating presence about him. that let you know who the baddest man on campus was. All of this coming from a corn fed, 6’4 330 pound monster of a man. 😂😂
Mr.George is so humble -he gained so much wisdom as he got older. I cried like a babe when he regained the title . He certainly has had a profound spiritual journey. May the rest of us be so fortunate and resolute in striving to do that.
Always remember that night. Was in college watching it with buddies in a floating casino in Biloxi, MS. The whole joint exploded when George leveled Moorer with that crushing right hand. Great night.

To be honest the ref wasn't that good, while he warned Tyson about the head locks early, as a token gesture, he still allowed him to use them through the fight, he also allowed the leaning clinches to go on, well after calling them to part. He also spoke to Wilder about holding, yet if you watch, it was Fury stopping Wilder from stepping back clean.

What a great fight it was Champ...I thought we'd never see the likes of a match like this again. I miss the days when the giants would step into the ring ( including yourself ) and would give us a show to remember for life. Yep, those two worriers gave the customers what they came to see....and that was a FIGHT TO REMEMBER.
@Bo Mo Tyson Fury is certainly better than Jerry Cooney was. Tyson Fury is in fact a very skilled boxer. I saw all of Cooney's major fights and some of his less major ones. Cooney was not very good. Larry Holmes who beat Cooney was an all time great. Cooney had a big left hook but he was relatively slow and had a questionable chin. The only big name fighters he beat such as Ken Norton, Ron Lyle and Jimmy Young were over the hill and at the end of their careers. In fact Cooney lost to pretty much every major fighter that he fought if they were still good. He was knocked out by Larry Holmes, knocked out by Michael Spinks, who was a small heavyweight champion and destroyed by George Foreman. - And that was George Foreman during his comeback when he was in his 40's. It was not Foreman in his 20's when he was in his prime. Deontay Wilder is not a great fighter. I would call him a mediocre fighter who can punch very hard. Fury is actually quite a good fighter.

Yet, he never truely dominated the heavyweight division for a long period of time, which should count against him. Foreman was 7-3 in title fights, which isn’t that impressive compared to Joe Louis (26-1) Larry Holmes (21-5) and Lennox Lewis (15-2-1), who were all far more dominant champions. Who did he beat? He won part of the title, yet he never proved he was the best in the division. There were a lot of good big Power hitters around in the early-mid 90’s, yet he defended against undercard B-Level fighters Schulz, Grimsley and Saverese, of which Foreman was gifted 2 outta 3 of those fights. He should have fought at least one legitimate contender or attempted to unify the titles after beating Moorer. Even if Foreman lost, which I’m pretty sure he would have considering his advanced age, he would have been far greater in defeat in my eyes. Why not lose to Riddick Bowe or Lennox Lewis rather than Shannon Briggs? George Foreman was a great fighter, but looking back over his career, I believe he is definitely overrated as a heavyweight champion based on his achievements.

A great fight and good point about the reffing. He wasn’t breaking up the clinch prematurely and letting both men work inside and was strict on fouls. Beautiful fighting and great reffing equals an all-time classic.
gotta have a sharp eye, to let the big guys work, in the clinch. it's dangerous, because it's easy to commit fouls on the inside and it's enticing for weaker fighters, to try and won by fouling.
@@ScoobyD2 uppercuts aren't fouls and the ref would step in almost immediately when Wilder would duck because he knew Fury would lean on him. That's why the ref told Wilder to stop ducking and clinching because he was letting Fury lean on him.

Its not a written rule that you should hug and kiss your opponent after he was saying pretty hateful and nasty things before the fight. Are we going to ignore Fury saying some awful about Wilder's mother? He said something that has to do with Wilder crawling out of his mother's private area. The fact that all wilder did was ignore Fury after the fight, actually shows how reserved and disciplined he was trying to be.

To top it off, his amateur record was 22-4, being altogether 98-9. Frazier had slipped since beating Ali in 1971. That fight had taken a lot out of him and Joe was 10 pounds heavier when he got into the ring with George. The only names on Foreman's record that stood out were 19-5 B-Level punchbag Chuck Wepner and 59-16 214 lb 6'0" George Chuvalo. Foreman's greatest win at his best was against little one 👁️ Joe inside two rounds. After knocking out the overmatched 54-27 5'10 196 lbs Jose Roman in the 1st, Foreman scored his second best career win against Ken Norton, who just broke Ali's jaw. 210 lb Norton's philly shell defense was atrocious against Foreman. George destroyed Kenny, again in under 2 rounds. This was the high point of his career. When George agreed to fight Ali, many feared he would seriously hurt the aging 32 year old former champion. That's why after the 3rd round, commentator Joe Frazier said, "George is rushing himself and not staying calm, he's not going to last." Frazier saw exactly what we all saw. Foreman Panicked in the sweltering heat and humidity which exceeded 90 percent and punched himself out, flailing away like a wild kitty cat. Ali sensed what was happening and patiently waited till George fell over ..And OMG did you see how ILLEGALLY LOOSE those ropes were!!! They were loose enough to allow Ali to avoid getting hit in the head leaving Foreman no choice but to go after the body. What should have been Ali's most difficult fight was actually one of his easiest. Fans worldwide demanded an immediate rematch but Ali knew better. If Ali was really the greatest why didn't he prove it instead of running 🏃💨 back to washed up one 👁️ Although Foreman went on to humiliate overrated one 👁️ for a second time after his loss to Ali, it was clear he was not the same fighter. He was knocked down twice and looked very vulnerable against Ron Lyle in their slugfest. Then several easy fights later, George was humiliated again, this time by featherfisted 19% KO's Jimmy Young. Being devastated and depressed Foreman retired from boxing.

Foreman was such a great fighter. He got outboxed by Ali but NOBODY ever matched Ali's skill, during the era in which he fought. And for Foreman to come back the way he did in the 1990s, well after all the other big men had long since hung them up, was nothing short of astounding. And to do it with a resounding knockout of a fighter in his prime, all the more so. Thanks for the memories big George. You were ALL class, all the time. And I'd probably pick you as the greatest of all time.

The boxers i'd want to see like the current heavyweight class or GGG/Canelo would all cost a ton and require long distance traveling. UFC/Bellator before the pandemic did fights everywhere not just Las Vegas.

That fight was very exciting, and Wilder showed so much heart, I thought Wilder was done in the sixth round, but he managed to endure until the eleventh. The more you praise your opponents, the greater your achievements when you beat them. Think about it. “My opponent was a bum! He was useless! He was hopeless!” Oh right. And that’s who you beat? Tough, was it? That’s why Wilder’s reaction was so disgusting when he was beaten, especially since he boxed better than he had in a long time. What a waste.

I’m just-now turning 62, and I remember your great sportsmanship; especially during the Olympics and you holding up the American flag and you were subsequently ridiculed. I also remember, when you fought Joe Frazier from Philly. You hit him with a right upper cut, so hard his feet lifted off the canvas. I have to say I was pissed off at you, only because I was born and raised from North Philadelphia and real close to where Joe worked prior to becoming a boxer. Sugar Hill Steward will get the credit for Tyson Fury's win. However, it was not for John Fury, TF would have lost that fight.
If JF had not insisted that TF come back to London to relearn his elusiveness and awkwardness, TF would not have used both that style and the Kronk style in the fight against Wilder. If TF solely relied on the guidance from Hill Steward, he would have lost in the 5th round. After all, he was knocked down twice by Wilder because he was too one-dimensional.
Once TF applied the elusiveness and other Team Fury boxing skills,he was able to escape from Wilder's clutches to eventually get the victory.

I am a great admirer of George Foreman. He seems like such an honorable and courageous man. I wish he would head to Washington and lead our country during these very difficult days. He would win a seat in Congress in a landslide. We sure do need him IMO.
I have always loved him too. I never thought about him for office. But now that you said it, I can’t get it out of my head. He would have been tremendous.
My step dad worked on one of his houses in the late 90’s. He came home with autographs and stories about how gentle and kind hearted he was at that time. Which he said was so weird to see, knowing who he was and all. But the best part was that he said that even though he was kind and gentle. He said he had this intimidating presence about him. that let you know who the baddest man on campus was. All of this coming from a corn fed, 6’4 330 pound monster of a man. 😂😂

Wilder's camp and his entourage said the referee did a lousy job and Fury cheated.

To be honest the ref wasn't that good, while he warned Tyson about the head locks early, as a token gesture, he still allowed him to use them through the fight, he also allowed the leaning clinches to go on, well after calling them to part. He also spoke to Wilder about holding, yet if you watch, it was Fury stopping Wilder from stepping back clean.

I miss the days when the giants would step into the ring ( including yourself ) and would give us a show to remember for life. Yep, those two worriers gave the customers what they came to see....and that was a FIGHT TO REMEMBER.

@Bo Mo Tyson Fury is certainly better than Jerry Cooney was. Tyson Fury is in fact a very skilled boxer. I saw all of Cooney's major fights and some of his less major ones. Cooney was not very good. Larry Holmes who beat Cooney was an all time great. Cooney had a big left hook but he was relatively slow and had a questionable chin. The only big name fighters he beat such as Ken Norton, Ron Lyle and Jimmy Young were over the hill and at the end of their careers. In fact Cooney lost to pretty much every major fighter that he fought if they were still good. He was knocked out by Larry Holmes, knocked out by Michael Spinks, who was a small heavyweight champion and destroyed by George Foreman. - And that was George Foreman during his comeback when he was in his 40's. It was not Foreman in his 20's when he was in his prime. Deontay Wilder is not a great fighter. I would call him a mediocre fighter who can punch very hard. Fury is actually quite a good fighter.

Knockout wins over Frazier (twice) Norton & Moorer, all much smaller look very good on his record. Yet, he never truely dominated the heavyweight division for a long period of time, which should count against him. Foreman was 7-3 in title fights, which isn’t that impressive compared to Joe Louis (26-1) Larry Holmes (21-5) and Lennox Lewis (15-2-1), who were all far more dominant champions.
Who did he beat? He won part of the title, yet he never proved he was the best in the division. There were a lot of good big Power hitters around in the early-mid 90’s, yet he defended against undercard B-Level fighters Schulz, Grimsley and Saverese, of which Foreman was gifted 2 outta 3 of those fights.
He should have fought at least one legitimate contender or attempted to unify the titles after beating Moorer. Even if Foreman lost, which I’m pretty sure he would have considering his advanced age, he would have been far greater in defeat in my eyes. Why not lose to Riddick Bowe or Lennox Lewis rather than Shannon Briggs? George Foreman was a great fighter, but looking back over his career, I believe he is definitely overrated as a heavyweight champion based on his achievements.

A great fight and good point about the reffing. He wasn’t breaking up the clinch prematurely and letting both men work inside and was strict on fouls. Beautiful fighting and great reffing equals an all-time classic.
It's rare these days to see a ref let guys fight on the inside. It's a very effective technique that appears to be lost to the ages

I love George Foreman and everything he’s done in his career, but man does he need a new microphone.

To top it off, his amateur record was 22-4, being altogether 98-9. That's still more impressive than people like Tyson, not to mention Foreman fought amazing boxers like Ken Norton, Joe Frazier, beating Moorer in his old age, those really say something.

@@georgelabauve3469 Foreman was relatively unknown when he challenged Joe Frazier for his heavyweight crown in 1973, that's why he was a 3 to 1 underdog going in. Frazier had slipped since beating Ali in 1971. That fight had taken a lot out of him and Joe was 10 pounds heavier when he got into the ring with George. The only names on Foreman's record that stood out were 19-5 B-Level punchbag Chuck Wepner and 59-16 214 lb 6'0" George Chuvalo. Foreman's greatest win at his best was against little one 👁️ Joe inside two rounds.
After knocking out the overmatched 54-27 5'10 196 lbs Jose Roman in the 1st, Foreman scored his second best career win against Ken Norton, who just broke Ali's jaw. 210 lb Norton's philly shell defense was atrocious against Foreman. George destroyed Kenny, again in under 2 rounds. This was the high point of his career. When George agreed to fight Ali, many feared he would seriously hurt the aging 32 year old former champion.
( 32 is still young, Wladimir fought Joshua in fight of the year at 41. Archie Moore fought Ali at 48 and Lewis beat Tyson and prime Vitali at 37. What was Ali doing at 37? He couldn't talk and his tremors were getting worse ..it's not how you start IT'S HOW YOU FINISH )

Foreman Panicked in the sweltering heat and humidity which exceeded 90 percent and punched himself out, flailing away like a wild kitty cat. Ali sensed what was happening and patiently waited till George fell over ..And OMG did you see how ILLEGALLY LOOSE those ropes were!!! They were loose enough to allow Ali to avoid getting hit in the head leaving Foreman no choice but to go after the body.
What should have been Ali's most difficult fight was actually one of his easiest.
Fans worldwide demanded an immediate rematch but Ali knew better. If Ali was really the greatest why didn't he prove it instead of running 🏃💨 back to washed up one 👁️

Then several easy fights later, George was humiliated again, this time by featherfisted 19% KO's Jimmy Young. Being devastated and depressed Foreman retired from boxing.
Hey George, I'm an old man and I will always talk about your fight with Lyle. You talk about heavy punches and the will to get back up, that fight was the best !
Foreman was such a great fighter. He got outboxed by Ali but NOBODY ever matched Ali's skill, during the era in which he fought. And for Foreman to come back the way he did in the 1990s, well after all the other big men had long since hung them up, was nothing short of astounding. And to do it with a resounding knockout of a fighter in his prime, all the more so.
Thanks for the memories big George. You were ALL class, all the time. And I'd probably pick you as the greatest of all time.

@@YearsOVDecay1 No i meant watching as it happens when i say live. I'm into MMA. Never even seen professional boxing in person. The boxers i'd want to see like the current heavyweight class or GGG/Canelo would all cost a ton and require long distance traveling. UFC/Bellator before the pandemic did fights everywhere not just Las Vegas.
I feel so much respect for you George, great man, great boxer, great grill. That fight was very exciting, and Wilder showed so much heart, I thought Wilder was done in the sixth round, but he managed to endure until the eleventh. I agree with you George about the referee, it was one of the best I've ever seen.
It's funny that after his career ended, he began to sale grills, but throughout it, he destroyed them.😆
