I played this and a couple of other launch titles at a sony event at i think some X games or other big name skaetboard competition. This was MINDBLOWING at the time.
Oh man! I remember playing this on a demo disc at my friends house back around 94 or 95. I was just a kid then and have been trying to remember the name of this game for the last 20 years! Awesome stuff. I’m digging this channel!
I’m glad that I found your channel. And that you review the early ps1 games. A lot of memories and also games that I didn’t get to play back in the day
I never thought of that but it does seem like an obvious missed opportunity. I'd play it. Singletrac even went on to make a submarine Twisted Metal style spinoff, of all things, after Twisted Metal 2 in Critical Depth on the PS1.
I always wanted Krazy Ivan, it seemed to have a lot of ads in gaming mags and was just very present in the early PS1 days. I never played it until many many years later and it was pretty rough to play.
I absolutely loved it. Wish they’d made a remake for the ps5 with same gameplay mechanics and atmospheric music and feel. The ps3 version was not my thing.
Absolutely. The game Total Eclipse is a good example, originally released on the 3DO they ported it to the PS1 as Total Eclipse Turbo. From what I've read the reason it was named Turbo was simply because they PS1 could run it at a good frame rate and didn't have slow down. lol. Which also lead to the game being incredibly difficult on PS1 and not great. Oh well.
Awesome game! Too bad the ps3 version was only multiplayer online with no single player campaign. I loathe MMO's with no single player campaign they get boring the first day doing the same thing over and over for no reason.
The fact that the PS3 could not render the polygons of old PS1 games like Warhawk in higher resolutions was downright criminal.
Playing the airship level blew me away. I could not believe how high above the clouds you could get
For sure! It may seem trivial now, but at the time stuff like this was absolutely mind blowing.

Its awesome that this guy has the old magazines
I loved Warhawk! It always gets forgotten because of Twisted Metal but this was awesome.
The golden era of video games. I was 15 and truly enjoyed this. There’s a new game coming out that reminds me of this called “G-Rebels”
I was also 15 when this and the PS1 launched. We grew up in a great time to watch video games evolve.
This game is excellent I would love to play it man. Thanks for your look back.

That demo stuck with me through the years as well. It was such a cool game.

The channel has been a great excuse for me to go back and play a lot of the games I didn't get to play and was always curious about.
I really want your reviews to blow up, dude! Keep at it :)
Thanks! I've been busy and have been slipping on making videos but more will be coming eventually.
Never played this when it came out but it's now on my list.
That game was amazing when it came out.
Great feeling controls and cool concept.
I wish for a sequel to this.
No MMO this time. (reference to Warhawk 2007)
And no, not space cowboys. (reference to Starhawk)
Not gunna lie. I dumped more hours into Starhawk than I’d like to admit. It is def space cowboys
I completely forgot that I had this game back in like 96 or so. I was probably too busy playing Twisted Metal 2..
Thanks for this. Warhawk was the first game I had for playstation. I was 8 or 9 at the time. It was so difficult!
Why can't we get a Twisted Metal spinoff with jets!? This is SO close!
I never thought of that but it does seem like an obvious missed opportunity. I'd play it. Singletrac even went on to make a submarine Twisted Metal style spinoff, of all things, after Twisted Metal 2 in Critical Depth on the PS1.
I don’t remember the cut scenes at all.
This along with Doom was the first game I got with my ps1.
This game and Krazy Ivan were the games that helped finalize my decision between getting a PlayStation or Saturn.

I rocked the pack in demo disc (vol.3) for five months before I got any games 🏅
Good choice
This game was en enigma for me, tnx for the video
Was a definite blind spot for me, glad I finally played through it after all these years.
This is one game that I wish Sony would do a reboot on ps5.
Now let's see the 3DO and Atari Jaguar pull this game off, it's no wonder that the PS1 was a great video game console

if you like this folks try colony wars red sun - epic space battling
Good review, man! Keep it up.
Review Destruction Derby next please
It's on the short list. I'm much more familiar with 2 because I had that one and not the first. But I defiantly want to review the first one.
You should try carnage heart ps1.Its heavily underrated
Yes it looks very interesting but I don't have the game yet. I hope to pick it up at some point.
OOO X, triangle, X, triangle.
A game they definitely need to remaster.
We need Warhawk 2024
No way this was online.. was it? :|
Hey cover as many games man 😊
thanks for this

From what I've seen of the ps3 version, it's an odd decision to make it a Warhawk game. Doesn't seem to have much in common with it.
I feel like this is a game prime for a remake. Its short, its simple. It could be a low end AA game.
What i had no idea Warhawk was on ps1! i remember playing warhawk on ps3 nonstop haha
That's funny because I had no idea there was a ps3 game until researching for the video, lol
Did you put a disc in & then use emulation for the video?
Absolutely, it's easier for me.
Warhawk on PS3 was so good.
