Need someone to show up. We still haven't replaced John Abraham. All we needed was that guy on defense and we would have had a superb owl by now. Ryan and the offense would put up 40. Damn defense would allow 42. Year after year. Offense has always put in work. We got some names on offense. Defense looks improved. Just hope they play like the DC had them going last year. If so... we might he that team this season. We got not one, but two QBs to feed these hungry guys offense. LFG!

People are going to laugh. But, I study the Falcons all 22 and it's convinced me that we have the front pass rushers already. Give AK and Zach the reps along with some of our rookies and as a unit they should pop. Don't be surprised if AK starts looking like Parsons. For sure he had a higher pass rush grade than Parsons in college on the same team at Penn. People tend to forget that. And he's showed his butt off when he did get some snaps last year. Which was barely over 20% if my memory serves me correctly. Calais and Bud had 80% of the snaps but AK was leading them in sacks last season before they caught up to him. And he still finished with 6 sacks while they had 6.5 a piece. So, yeah, the jury still out. But, I believe our edge is better than what Raheem worked with to some success at the Rams

    Where do I start ?
    A) that's your opinion ( in which I respect as anyone's)
Watched alot of huskie games- best oline in pac 12 and best receiving room in entire college football. I just think penix needs alot of fundamental work. He's a pocket passer because of his injury history in college . He has a cannon for an arm and it helps when your hands are just under 11 inches.
Other than that , his delivery has problems and it's something he's likely not going to fix at 25 and doesn't travel well NFL wise agsinst 11 mutants every time he's under center.
Agsinst the better defenses , he lacked touch , layered throws and threw a good share of hospital balls in which those 3 bailed him out. I personally felt that odunze and Harri jr. were the 2 best players in entire draft. We'll see.
The falcons could've had a free 4th round pick for absolutely nothing. That's how good Rome Odunze is supposed to be. I think the bears heard they were going offense and freaked- don't understand the thought process by falcons thinking the bears might take penix ???
It's never happened and never will happen ( an nfl team taking 2qbs in top 10 overall picks).
Actually- I should never say never.
I think falcons will be OK cause cousins isn't your normal 35 year old qb. That back foot eventually gets to 100% , get through the mental and the rough 1st 3 games and falcons should be sleeping giants unless the defense just fails or specific/ pertinent injuries that nobody can predict.

Yeah- but what if turns out that Taylor heineke is a better qb than Michael Penix jr. I mean a trip to watch a guy for 45 minutes and just tab that next top 5( eventually) guy is just crazy talk.
I'm a nobody ( well- I don't coach in the bleeping nfl) and I'm concerned for a guy who is about to be 25 and I see some big flaws and alot to fix coming from college.
Taking laitu, verse or turner and whomever turning out to be in the early running for defense rookie of the year could extrapolate them buying at the trade deadline for said top available defense guy.
I consider this team a sleeping giant in a conference where we're about to see a power shift.

    • @888Pungy
      @888Pungy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

Penix is a dawg, I see very few holes in his game and I think he's the best pure passer of this class. 2 years under kirk and he'll easily be the best QB in the NFC south. Maybe even the nfc, since it is so weak atm compared to the AFC.
We have tons of tape on Taylor, he can win you some games as a back up but he's not taking you on a deep playoff run or even getting you into the playoffs.
We've been in QB purgatory since Matty Ice declined, and it seems our coaching staff is confident we're not going to be picking below 20 the next couple seasons with Kirk at the helm. With the talent we have I tend to agree. It was either take who we think is our QB of the future with pick 8, or take a Edge that would've been a late teens or early 20s pick in better drafts at 8. It stings now, but 5 years from now we'll look back on this and smile my friend.
      RISE UP!
