My fave will probably always be Pyromania. That was the first cassette I got as a gift from my brother. I had no idea who they were but when I first pressed play I was hooked!
I only have a greatest hits 2 disc set. I like things about Def Leppard but have never been big on them. Metalish but a little too pop for my personal tastes. They were chic magnets. My sister took her daughters to see them two or maybe three times. They said they were really good live.
If you don’t like the pop side of Def Leppard try listening to their 2nd album High N Dry and their 3rd album Pyromania. These are before they added the pop element. You might like them better before Hysteria.
@@BrendonSnyder I've heard some of that stuff and it's still a little poppy for me. I'll revisit it. I was into Zeppelin, The Who and a bunch of other stuff like that. Some Sabbath. IABD and then along came Yes, King Crimson and ELP and changed the landscape. I know DL came a lot later, but they just didn't do it for me sonically and ideawise after what I'd been listening to for years. I'll take another listen though, maybe my perceptions have changed over the years.

good band I guess theres a reason why there in the top 100 , plus there in guitar world on some list plus Metal shop 2 albums top 10 there just a great band .
Yeah they’re a great band! One of the defining 80’s hard rock bands. And since they they have remained at a high level. Def Leppard is one of the best rock bands of all time IMO.
@@BrendonSnyder Def Leppard got me into hard rock, and later on heavy metal. at the age of 5 they released Pyromania, and since then they are by far my favorite rock band!
The 2CD deluxe editions of Pyromania and Hysteria are out of print. There is a 3CD version of Hysteria as an alternate to the boxset edition. But if you want one of the 2CD deluxe editions you can find them still on eBay.
Do you recall how much volume 1 cost new? I see if going for over $200 new on Amazon and am wondering how much of a mark-up that is. Volumes 2 and 3 are considerably less, for good reason.
Hello from Tokyo. Did the remastering on On Through The Night and High n Dry significantly improve the sound to make it more modern sounding or did they just clean up some of the noise?

The Live show from 1983 is really very good and worth it for that if you’ve never heard it before.

Each of the boxsets have cost around $60 to $80 new depending on number of CDs inside.
What do think will be in collection 4. I myself would like to have a remastered edition of first strike. What are your thoughts on what they will do

the def leppard ep was 78 not 79 and i love all def leppard albums
No. I own the vinyl ep and it says published 1979 on the back. It was recorded in November 1978 and released January 1979.
@@BrendonSnyder Ryan Howard made a mistake it's 1979 unless they have the wrong year on the back it should be 1979?
Def Leppard went to crap after High N' Dry and even more so after Pyromania. Pete Willis made this band rock and that was lost after they fired him.
