What a pleasant voice to listen to 🤗. La Llorona - which literally means the “weeping one” - is a name from Mexican folklore. La Llorona is perhaps the most sung about person. But who is she and what is her origin? There is a story that says La Llorona is the mother who killed her children out of jealousy because her husband felt more love for their children than for her. When she realized what she had done, she died of grief. Her spirit still wanders the rivers in search of her dead children. Dressed in white robes, her long hair flows through the water and she feels the waters with her tall fingers. She will also bring other children and sometimes even men and women. Every Mexican child will stay away from the rivers at night. You never know… There are different names for La Llorona: - Cihuacohuatl: The female snake - Tititl: our mother - Teoyaominqui: the goddess who collects the souls of the dead - Quilatzli: she who carries the twins La Llorona has often been described and sung about, but the most beautiful performance is by Chavela Vargas (17.04.1919 - 05.08.2012). Her voice is old and shaky, the voice and power of the Crone… the old wise woman! After a tough life, loves, losses, and an alcohol addiction, she sings at the end of the song: “Que mas quieres? Quieres mas? “ What do you want? Do you want more?!! Yet Chavela still had to continue for many years... She was 93 years old.
Hello Coby, einen schönen ersten Advent! Kennst du diese Version? Silvana Estrada - La Llorona (con Natalia Lafourcade y Mon Laferte) th-cam.com/video/3yelqLW3H_E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qsq9Wg7Y3El8x7JR Liebe Grüße!
@@Hundhammer Hi Dominik , this is also a beautiful version of La Llorona, but I lean more towards Lia Downs and Chavela Vargas because of the raw and almost crying voices which fits so well with the story behind it. Nice to see (read) you again, kind regards to you too 🤗
P.S.: Also I heard this song La Llorona by many great artists, the following one is my favorite version, it has even three artists, and two artists I love and you know both, Mon & Natalia... Silvana Estrada - La Llorona (con Natalia Lafourcade y Mon Laferte) th-cam.com/video/3yelqLW3H_E/w-d-xo.htmlsi=qsq9Wg7Y3El8x7JR Peace out!
Hundhammer. There is no comparison, my friend. No one can beat this live performance of La Llorona by Lila Downs. This youtuber is not stupid, because from the beginning he understood and commented that all the details were taken care of: the musicians, the musical arrangement, the interpretation, and that is why he affirmed that Lila is a diva. And you come to suggest low-level interpretations! No way!
Hallo my friend, concratulations, you really discovered a great artist, I'm a little bit familiar with her, because she has one song "peligrosa" (dangerous) featuring Mon Laferte, and as you kow I checked out pretty anything by Mon because I love her too much... I also really lied Lila Downs' voice so I checked out more of her songs, she's really good! Here's the one with Mon: Lila Downs - Peligrosa (Cover Audio) ft.
