  • Thank you crafty Friends for joining me today. We are learning how to make a Belly Band for junk journals. These can also be used for tuck spots or page adornments within your journals.
    I have been busy tea dying papers, gathering vintage laces, and scouring for vintage ephemera to add to this journal. I love the process of planning to seeing each Junk Journal come to life in my studio!! It gives me the greatest pleasure to share each creation with you here.
    I thank you so much for your continued support of my love of Journal making and look forward to bringing you more Junk Journals in the future. I hope you enjoy my latest Junk Journal from TheFireFlyStudio67 :)

    I realize that this was several years ago, but if you're still trying to use up those lovely buttons with the tang on the back, I found that you could grind those off with a Dremel! Has helped me a lot!! Thanks for the tutorial!

    Hey there. Just a couple of ideas, though I suspect you've come up with your own: 1) my husband switched the lights in my studio to LED bulbs which give off far less heat 2) buy either a small fan or a standing (oscillating option if you want) to keep a cooling breeze on yourself. I like the standing fan because I have NO space on my work table for even a mini fan-lol and I can place it in the room so it doesn't blow anything around. 3) sip ice water as you work as it really does cool the body. (or any iced drink of choice). I get hot flashes and the vent in my studio does not work so no AC, ugh. And I live in the desert! I subscribed to you a while ago as I love your ideas and creations--you have the talent and knack for all things "journal" and I am using many in my journals-so thank you. Today's tuck spot is simply gorgeous and I will be making them pronto. XOXOJane

      @TheFireFlyStudio67  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh Jane thank you for taking the time to pass on these tips. I thought I had those pesky hot flashes under control until these new lights came in lol. I will be adding a little fan immediately ! Stay cool Hugs!

    I too find fabric tac running over and wasting more than i use...i found out the secret to helping the problem..
    When you are starting on a new bottle and take off the cap...do not remove the seal...leave it on...poke a small hole in the center...replace cap and see if the hole is a good size. You may have to go back and make it a little bit bigger for it to flow as you want it...keep enlarging the hole till you get it the right flow. This has helped in it overflowing and running everywhere.

    Beautiful paper tuck. I see you have trouble with your FT Glue I like to keep a big bottle of glue and a small one, using the small one all the time when it star to bubble out, full it out of the big one. It takes a few minutes but will worth it hope it helps you I now it save a lot of glue Hugs Bonnie

    Ok...i have a question and i hope it doesn't come off as rude...i am trying to learn and maybe i missed something...you have covered up the sheet music...the darker strips of tea paper that was glued before the music ...i see that alot and wonder why hide what you previously did?
