Samsung does great with TVs I would highly recommend you stay away from any kitchen or laundry appliances from them! We had washer, dryer, ice maker, and dishwasher all go out! We replaced our heater coil three times before realizing they have another sensor that goes out when replacing heater coil, they would not share those tidbits with us! My daughter now works at lowes and says she see more problems with Samsung than you can shake a stick at! Thank you good sir for the videos! You are doing a good service!
Great video. My Samsung Dishwasher just started leaking 2 weeks ago because its a Samsung appliance, so of course it's gonna break! Our fridge leaks and no longer produces Ice, our Dryer broke twice the first time we paid a lot to have a technician fix the rollers, the 2nd time I TH-cam fixed it. So far only our Microwave and Stove have been issue free...I'm going to regret saying that.
I had a very frustrating experience with Samsung warranty/customer service as well, about a year ago. Now the dishwasher leaks and needs a new bottom door gasket. I was hoping you would be replacing that part, but I'm delighted to have found this gem of a video even if it's not quite the repair I (currently) need to do!
Also have a issue with dishwasher leaking in bottom right corner. Very frustrating. Also have issue with the French door refrigerator. The freezer jams up with ice constantly and in summer if you open freezer door you can’t open it again for at least a minute or two. I will never buy a Samsung of any kind!!!
It worked! (eventually) Thank you. I found the errant foam and moved it. The leak changed. I used the long screws you mentioned into a wood block to hold the latch on. Closed the door and pressed start. Running the unit with the door interior exposed showed the new leak to be a rubber seal at the bottom corner of the tray. It was dislodged when I moved the foam up. DOH! I stopped the cycle, pressed the seal back on, hit start. No leaks. Thank you for posting.
I agree with you wholeheartedly, about the quality and reliability of Samsung kitchen appliances. They should just concentrate on making consumer electronics. When I replaced my kitchen appliances, I was open to mixing the brands for the various units. My wife, at the time, was totally against it. She wanted the brand names and logos on the appliances to be uniform and match. Guess what happened within the first six months of ownership of my Samsung stove? The letters from the logo started falling off due to the steam from cooking on the stove. The freezer on my $2,000 fridge leaks, and now my Samsung dishwasher is giving me the LE code. I've already had to pay technicians to repair a faulty burner on the stove, because Samsung didn't want to do the right thing. Because of my bad experience with Samsung kitchen appliances, I make it my business to dissuade anyone thinking about buying Samsung kitchen products.
Here too, our Samsung refrigerator and dishwasher have failed. The refugerator is long gone and if I can't stop it from leaking the dishwasher will be right behind it. I have a different leak but still can appreciate this video.
I did everything you did notch the water drip, put in extra insulation in front of vent to push it in further, and moved up the lower right hand side insulation at bottom of door. I did find part of the trough at the bottom had rubber off of it, I put that back on also and, and WOW ! it was a first time fix.. can't thank you enough .. took me just a tad over 15 minutes !
Thanks for all your time and research in troubleshooting this issue. I had the same problem with mine and after watching You Tube videos, just cleaned the debris from behind the round access panel and the white plastic vent with a round food brush and it is not leaking now. Apparently this is a know issue and when I called Samsung customer service they should have recommended this fix but instead had NISI an Authorized Repair center contact me to provide service which they quoted; "$80 trip and diagnostic and $80 for labor plus parts and tax". I also own a Samsung refrigerator with other issues as well, and I share your recommendation, I ALSO WILL NOT BE PURCHASING ANYMORE SAMSUNG KITCHEN APPLIANCES!
My seal on the lower portion of the door has come loose, leaking onto floor. I called Home Depots appliance/parts and was told the seal is on back order until mid-January !!!! This is a Samsung appliance and will be my last. Their TVs are great
I completely agree with you about Samsung kitchen products. We purchased a Samsung dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, and microwave. I will NEVER buy another Samsung appliance. Dishwasher - case sensor assembly replaced (not cycling - not washing dishes), new diaphragm and actuator, and now we have a leak in the bottom right of the door (not the seal) - appears to come out of the vent. All of these dishwasher issues were within the 1st two years. ALSO - the dishwasher never did dry dishes from day 1. We always had water left inside the bowls and cups. We had just as much trouble with the refrigerator. The stainless steel sheeting cover the appliances are soooo thin that you shouldn't buy them if you have kids. The slightest bump you'll end up with a ding. Just stay away from Samsung.
I also had a leaking problem exactly as the video shows. HERE'S HOW FIX IT....remove the stainless steel door panel by removing all the screws around the inside perimeter of the door (see another video of how to do it if you're not sure). Once all screws are removed you can close the door and take off the outside panel. Now you can see all the guts of the door. At the bottom corners you'll see on each side 1 piece of grey foam, just pull them out. Not sure why they are there, sound suppression I suppose but they interfere with and suck up water from the trough at the bottom of the door. Thus, leaks occur at each corner of the bottom of the door. You can actually close the door and start the dishwasher to see how the trough works. You'll probably have some white paper like gunk in the trough, clean that out before starting the washer. It's kind of neat to watch the water in the trough when the machine is working.....reassemble door and give it a try....good luck......
I fixed my leak by doing what I told the so called Samsung repair guy should have done. I replaced the vent housing, diagram and actuator. $18 for everything off eBay!!
Wow! I had almost the same identical problem with Samsung customer service (and Sears Scratch & Dent customer service) when I purchased my Samsung dishwasher. Thanks for the heads up about the leak. I've unplugged the unit for about 15 minutes and do hope that clears up the problem, but for some reason, I think I've seen water on the floor before. Who knows. I guess I'll find out here in about five minutes. I have a Samsung TV also. (Yikes.)
I am with you. My Samsung dishwasher is junk. Leaking from the bottom of the door too. About a year into it the paint on the door started to bubble. Their customer service is a joke.
I’m a technician and the fact that you have the model number memorized says a lot. Also when I’m at my Parts house it’s A running joke to say I recommend samsung The whole lobby burst into laughter
I purchased several Samsung products like cellphones, refrigerator, washing machine, dryer, oven and dishwasher some 3 years back. The only items with which I had no issue was the refrigerator, washing machine and the cellphones. All the rest had various issues despite periodic care and cleaning. My advice: only buy cellphones from them, they are good at making them, not domestic appliances! Go for other makes instead!
I have the same dishwasher and like you I am a handy person and have fixed many issues. The design is flawed from the get go with the seal around the door being the most bothersome but wait there's more the drain pipe is made from some kind of poly-b material and cracks and leaks causing a lot of damage and the wheels on the rack cut the seal around the door.
I totally agree Samsung dishwashers are garbage. We’ve had drainage problems for over a year and 3 repair bills later still not working. Clueless repair people from Lake Ekkttonics!
I have the same problem except I actually found a ripped hole in the bottom door gasket, like it either wore away or something ripped it. I figure thats not normal and to have a dish to catch water at the corner is probably not really a permanent solution. I do have an extended warranty with Sears and now is the time to see it so will call tomorrow. Apparently one has to replace the complete inner door as the bottom gasket is fixed to it... what a poor design !!!! As an fyi, I have the DMT610RHS.. (Canadian Model), but looks a lot like yours. Also can't wait for your exploding video :-)
So did yours quit exhausting water on the floor. I just took mine all apart and cleaned the rubber gasket that vents moist air. I checked the wires too, looked good.
Similar experience to everyone else. I have fixed the dishwasher countless times including replacing all the hoses with engine heater hose. I now have the water puddle at the bottom of the door problem. I had to replace in inner glass on the stove door that shattered and yes the decals are falling off the stove because of steam. The microwave high voltage transformer blew up. Ice maker in the fridge is great at crushed ice not so much at making ice cubes. I will not ever buy a Samsung appliance again.
Yep same problem on my dishwasher, had a very expensive microwave/convection oven only 1 year old they replaced the computer board on it and it went out a year later. Went to replaced the board again and it was discontinued. I will never own another Samsung appliance.
Well I wish I had seen this video before buying a new Samsung dishwasher. Of course there was nothing wrong with the GE one that was in there except for the color didn’t match the new Samsung fridge? I don’t know. Ask my wife why we replaced a good working GE dishwasher. Oh by the way, it was brand new that came with the brand new house 🤦🏽♂️
Samsung has absolutely the worst service and warranty program. We went through living hell with our ice maker on the French style double door fridge. We were jerked around about seal leaks and who actually had the service area for our unit. Bottom line, the problem has not been resolved. According to web videos, there are literally hundreds of customers in our position. Law suits are pending and this Asian company could care less. The money is in the bank as they say. Thanks for the video. I’m gonna take a look at my sister’s dishwasher. Now I’ve got a better idea what I’m in for.
Guessing ??? Or actually watching where it is leaking from. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the leak was coming from the dry plunger assembly unit. I guess it wasn't qualified enough for a Samsung Tech to make that call.
damnit. just saw this video after doing a search on samsung leaking dishwasher. mine started leaking yesterday. it's 2 weeks old. warranty...but what a hassle. i'll see if i can get a replacement for a different brand.
Hi Fiero880. I'm interested to know what's happened with your dishwasher since you made the video. We've just discovered that our wood floor has been damaged by a leak we didn't see. Found a lot of gunge on the diaphragm of the vent system. Looks like it was keeping the diaphragm open. Cleaned it out, and are about to give it a try. Fingers crossed!
I found the upper vent assembly which included the upper vent housing, diaphragm, actuator, twist plastic grate and gasket on eBay for $15 give or take. And this solved my problem.
My guess would have been that the arrow should point up, in the opposite direction. My Samsung also leaks, not visibly, and it shuts off, due to the leak sensors underneath in the drip pan.
We have a similar issue on our Samsung, I am thinking the hot air is condensing in that container and leaking out.. or condensing at the discharge. The air will still carry a lot of water. It’s most likely not a leak as it is the hot air hitting the cold air
Hey, we are seeing randomly leak error. Whenever I open the container I see few droplet due to which leak sensor goes off. Looks like the reason you mentioned. How did you fixed it?
I bought it the fridge, dishwasher, stove and microwave Samsung, all of them give me problems, the fridge broke just before the year warranty from the company, the microwave, the light go off, the stove, 3 of 5 switches(gas) broke after 2 years, the dishwasher same, after 2 years. Samsung kitchen appliances, the worst.
I just opened it up. The white plastic gasket was instalked wrong. The slots were pointing wrong direction and it needed cleaning. Cleaned it and installed it properly ( there are 2 arrows there that have to meet, the technician did not see????) Will see if it continues to leak after i did the changes...
I’ve had problems with my Samsung for more than 6 months- they’ve been here so many times for leaks that they want to give me a refurbished one as a replacement . I actually am in process for a refund but I they want a picture of the power cord cut before they will process the refund, which means I’ll be without a dishwasher for a month.
Thanks for the video, I'm having problems with my door leaking and hopefully, Samsung comes good with the warranty. If not I will also make a youtube video.
I also had a leaking problem exactly as the video shows. HERE'S HOW FIX IT....remove the stainless steel door panel by removing all the screws around the inside perimeter of the door (see another video of how to do it if you're not sure). We could not deal with the pan system and with power off removed it. It is very touchy about how you load your dishes, make nice straight line of dishes, or a wayward dish may cause water to go in an area that sets off the tray sensor.. Now, about that trout tune it plays..
I am done with Samsung...Built a new house 3 years ago with all Samsung appliances. Slide in range burned itself up during self cleaning cycle locking door with no way to open, Fridge has a loud compressor that sounds like its going to die, dishwasher leaked from day one and I am still chasing the problem, dryer idler pulley went bad, washing machine barley used enough water to get the clothes wet, (I was able to "adjust" that with help from youtube videos).
We had 3 samsung tvs and they all failed...meanwhile, our original large screen Sony we purchased before the Samsungs, 18 years ago...and the one we got before that one 35 years ago was only replaced bc it was too small lol. both still going strong. We have a samsung dishwasher and its giving us problems...its why I'm here...I think we will stay away from samsung going forward. In the meantime, still trying to diagnose the problem. Sony should make dishwashers and kitchen appliances lol
So...did all this! Guess what!? Did..not..work! Guess what the problem was? After we have spent money for the price of a NEW dam Samsung dishwasher DMT800, the dam appliance repair guy FINALLY pulled the doggone dishwashwr ALL THE WAY OUT and the problem was.....drum roll...the dam water hose had worn and was slowing ciming apart! Looked like a slinky! Needless to say...now the repair is FREE!
More Samsung problems with my dishwasher. One year after the last time I commented. Now the error code for leaking is on. (The "heavy" light is flashing.) I took it all apart, checked what I think is everything. No luck yet.
I have the same dishwasher, with this same problem. It always leaks. The technician came and cleaned that round spot in the door. In avout 3 months it starred again. It damaged the floor and the basement celling now...
Yes thank You its given me the info i need but unfortunately l found out the hard way with water leaking all over the place. Never never buy samsung products they are horrible except tv's they are great.
Yes, not leaking any more. Just remove the grey sponge like things, they have a strange shape, kinda like a square with a finger. This sponge thing gets caught in the trough at the bottom of the door and absorbs water and leaks. You can feel the wet sponge under the door before you do any kind of repair work...
Just to add….My Samsung dishwasher model is DW800F600UTS. When the leaking issues first happened I thought it was the gasket at the bottom and water was getting past it. I later discovered that water is suppose to get past it and that the door has a trough at the bottom for water to circulate. It's the sponge that is the problem…Remove the sponges, throw them away and Problem Solved. On a separate note. After fixing the leak the machine failed to drain water after the first rinse cycle and "AUTO SMART & HEAVY" lights were blinking. After removing the water (wet n dry vac) I removed all the screws in the screen assembly. To the right of the heating element is a small grey rectangular cover piece with a notch in it. I removed it and found a metal 1/4" round rod that had some gunk on it. It's the water temperature sensor. I removed the gunk and cleaned up a few other things and re-assembled. It now works great. I think the stuff on the temp sensor was causing it to overheat and shut the machine down….This maintenance repair may be necessary every few years….
I cant stand samsung appliances either. I got a whole samsung combo in 2018 meaning cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher and i have had nothing but issues. So much so that best buy bought back my fridge. My range is on its last leg. The mictowave is long gone and now my dishwasher is leaking . Never again. Stay away from samsung appliances
Hi Thanks for your video! Yes this is a piece of @#$%^&*! I have the Samsung dishwasher model is DW800F600UTS. I did take apart the vent cap and yes there was a build up so I clean the vent area and between the diaphragm. I actually replaced my front door seal which was the cause of the main leak. However, I am still trying to diagnose a small leak coming from the vent on the far left and far right side of the venting system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards Bill
I have same problem, all my appliances are Samsung and dishwasher start breaking down from first year they fixed once ,now is broke again, of course they said warranty is gone, well my fridges same shit, never again will buy samsung products
We bought the extended warranty, this is the first time I got my money's worth from that! The refrigerator broke down about every 6 months. After 5 years, all of the other appliances are in poor shape, do not get a Samsung kitchen!
I have the same dishwasher and it’s a POS. Door leaks water and the vent at the bottom leaks water. The grinder blade broke. The filter screen fell apart. And the wheels on the racks are broken and the rack is rusting apart. Never seen anything like it. Have a samsung fridge also and that things absolutely JUNK. Shame on Samsung!!!
Added all Samsung products to my new house when I built it the oven/stove is the only kitchen appliance that works properly. Micro wave turns off and on like there is a short in it when door is opened and closed, Frig ice-maker freezes up and can’t make ice. When I do have ice the crusher crushes ice in cube mode, and my dishwasher leaks water. Samsung kitchen appliances suck
Never buy a Samsung dishwasher. They make horrible products. Less than a year into the DW89K5050US, and the thing leaks water, gave me a OC error and the customer service has no clue what they are doing. Anyone wants to buy my dishwasher for 300$, take it away
Samsung is garbage my brother in law had their new tv and it stopped working and they only had it for couple years I have a Samsung dishwasher and it's broken down twice now I used to have their phones as well and had issues with them too once the power button stopped working and had to replace it
😢unfortunately Samsung products are at all not good. Far to much problems with them they are putting to much technology in them that go wrong. Just stay clear of Samsung 😢
Samsung does great with TVs I would highly recommend you stay away from any kitchen or laundry appliances from them! We had washer, dryer, ice maker, and dishwasher all go out! Good job fiero, most new appliances these days are crap, built to fail. This is a great way to hold the sellers and builders accountable.
I did everything you did
notch the water drip, put in extra insulation in front of vent to push it in further,
and moved up the lower right hand side insulation at bottom of door.
I did find part of the trough at the bottom had rubber off of it, I put that back on also

Same!! Our 1700 dollar Samsung fridge died on us 4 months out of warranty and now our year old Samsung dishwasher is on its 4th service call .

this is why I will be buying a Bosch 800 series I had nothing but bad luck with Samsung
You are right. I will never buy another Samsung appliance ever again. Looks amazing, but poor quality.
Ours leaks straight out of the vents at the bottom of the door. This is not a seal issue. Straight up ENGINEERING SCREW UP!!
youll have to clean the food junk out of the area.
The leakage as usually in Samsung dishwashers occurs at the motor utility assembly. Check that rather then guessing what you assume to be!
Good luck. My issues were when I first got my unit too. I do wish you the best.
I have one as well... It has leaked since day one but we didn't know until I noticed the floor shifting...
I feel your pain! We are dealing with the same issues! Samsung sucks!!!
I’ve had the same experience with Samsung warranty/ customer service. Now my dishwasher is doing this as well. Did the parts you ordered fix it?
Hi Fiero880. I'm interested to know what's happened with your dishwasher since you made the video. We've just discovered that our wood floor has been damaged by a leak we didn't see. so what dishwasher should one buy?
I bought it the fridge, dishwasher, stove and microwave Samsung, all of them give me problems, the fridge broke just before the year warranty from the company, the microwave, the light go off, the stove, 3 of 5 switches(gas) broke after 2 years, the dishwasher same, after 2 years. Samsung kitchen appliances, the worst.
I just opened it up. The white plastic gasket was instalked wrong. The slots were pointing wrong direction and it needed cleaning. Cleaned it and installed it properly ( there are 2 arrows there that have to meet, the technician did not see????)
Will see if it continues to leak after i did the changes...
Take them to small claims court you will win every time!
so it has been 4 years now howzabout an update,
did you order the parts?
did it solve the problem?
did you BLOW the darn thing up?
I’ve had problems with my Samsung for more than 6 months- they’ve been here so many times for leaks that they want to give me a refurbished one as a replacement . I actually am in process for a refund but I they want a picture of the power cord cut before they will process the refund, which means I’ll be without a dishwasher for a month.
I will never get another Samsung!
Thank you man
Thanks for the video, I'm having problems with my door leaking and hopefully, Samsung comes good with the warranty. If not I will also make a youtube video.
Lol I agree!!!! If anything I got the word out.
We could not deal with the pan system and with power off removed it. It is very touchy about how you load your dishes, make nice straight line of dishes, or a wayward dish may cause water to go in an area that sets off the tray sensor.. Now, about that trout tune it plays..
The last time I'll have anything to do with Samsung.
Other than the TVs, also not buying any Samsung appliances again. Washer/dryer broke and my dishwasher leaks.
Thanks! I have Samsung appliances with a failing dishwasher. I won't be buying another Samsung.
I bought some samsung appliances. So far, my dishwasher and stove have had continuous problems. It's really rediculous.
And the microwave stopped working and had to be replaced.
Sony should make dishwashers and kitchen appliances lol
am looking for a dishwasher, thanks for the video my list just got shortened by one
Thanks ! This helped a lot!
What was the problem
such a helpful video!
Yes, it was, wasn't it. We found out more from the video than the company, and that's not a good thing for Samsung.
Samsung sucks..I got the same problem... Good video thanks fir sharing
Yes thank You its given me the info i need but unfortunately l found out the hard way with water leaking all over the place. Never never buy samsung products they are horrible except tv's they are great.
I thinking there a service update on the main PCB to run that blower all the time.
Not that I am aware of.
way, not you have for d146 any advises when error f3
Send video link to the Samsung twitter account.
Will do
My dishwasher from Samsung also leaks. Have it now for about 6 months and this is 2nd time I'm having a problems!!!😠
Hell Ya!
did your repairs stop the leak?
Yes I replaced the vent housing, diaphragm and actuator.
I did exactly as the video shows and it fixed mine from leaking on first try. took me about 20 minutes !
My dishwasher has a LC code only 1 month old
I cant stand samsung appliances either.
My dishwasher with the same exact model number sucks as well
Never buying anything samsung again but a phone. Problems with frontloading clothes washer, problems with dishwasher draining, now leaking...
R/C another one of your hobbies?
I am here because our 4 year old Samsung is FUCKEN leaking!
I think this is what's wrong with mine. I will see? Thanks
Same here, just stay away from Samsung junk
Same problem...
Mine shoots water out of the door latch
never buy a samsung dish washer nor a samsung refrigerator
Another guy like myself that had several other Samsung products so I purchased a full kitchen set.....dishwasher is trash
Im not buying samsung ever again
Never buy a Samsung dishwasher. They make horrible products. Less than a year into the DW89K5050US, and the thing leaks water, gave me a OC error and the customer service has no clue what they are doing. Anyone wants to buy my dishwasher for 300$, take it away
I have same problems with Samsung and I'll never ever buy enythink from Samsung.
Sounds like a typical Samsung garbage product and lousy service - have seen it many times.
Samsuck appliance
We had major problem with our Samsum stove, 2 Samson fridges and our dishwasher. Worst Company !!!!!!
Samsung sucks
