Ultimate Ninja 3 is my 2nd favorite Naruto game behind Rise Of A Ninja
I remember playing Ultimate Ninja 5 in Japanese as a kid (Narutimate Accel 2 I think it's the name), of course living in South America, English games were difficult enough, Japanese ones being impossible to understand other than the options menus and context-sensitive stuff. I ended up unlocking every single character in the game, even young Sasuke...in an open world, mission-based game in Japanese. Of course a lot of trial and error and time to waste!
Im still playing 4 and 5 with my friends nearly every weekend, those games never get boring, the storm games multiplayer got me bored after just a week because every character felt the same and in the ultimate ninja games we still discover new tactics hidden abilitys and cool combos. The only thing I dont like about part 5 is that there is no way do deactivate the support characters. I am still hoping that there will come another game like this with all characters and dlc characters that keep up with the anime.
Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series from PS2 Era will always have a special place in my heart and soul, these are the most unique Naruto games for me, only Storm 1 was coming close to these Masterpiece Naruto games, especially from gameplay features perspective, I don't know exactly why, but for me, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Series from PS2 Era are so nostalgic, unique and divine at the same time, I have so many memories during my childhood by playing these Unique Naruto games, Naruto games from PS2 Era was always very close to the anime itself because of the unique vibe and charm☯️

I think your complaint about Ultimate Ninja 3 not giving enough context for the fights is a bit unfair since the game is obviously intended for fans of the series who have watched it and know exactly what's going on.
That's 100% true, but I was mainly explaining my perspective. I'm sure this wasn't an issue for people who are familiar with the series, but for someone like me who hasn't seen it, it was hard to follow the journey.

Nostalgia all around, the PS2 era of Naruto games are so nostalgic, I have so many memories with these masterpieces, why can't Storm games be like this..

How i got adicted to Naruto it's because I played Naruto storm 2 and I got explained to the whole story pretty well.i have played all Naruto storm games 1-4 and 3 was my favourite!!..

Ultimate Ninja 5 is pretty good. If I had to rank my favorite Naruto games, UN5 would be at the top 5. Number one would be Storm 4.

man you missed the peek naruto hype when the sharingan was like the greatest thing in anime the rock lee and gaara fight, the sasuke retrieval arc, Ultimate Ninja 3 felt like the best naruto game on earth at that moment to me
i still remember when storm 1 came out i walked in gamestop and seen that game on a big dumb display for like 70 dollars i wanted that game so bad its still one of the best storm games to this day

I played the hell out of 3-5 and i love the intro to 4 with dark shadow and stuff, feels like a movie plot sorta.
The intro gets to me whenever Naruto climbs on top of the gate, it makes me feel Nostalgic.

sorry but the ninja 5 is the nest for me .. nostalgia and gameplay and the secret actions cut seens are really good animated .. i really want to play it in the next gens as a remaster or remake version .
Ultimate ninja 4 was my favorite in the series as it was the first naruto game i ever played the storyline was decent and I actually enjoyed the black shadow because of the whole story of the little girl being a sacrifice to the village and please the demon one thing I find mysterious about it was exploring the entire mineshaft and get ambushed by shadow clones and having to jump on platforms
Ultimate 4 had the worst story mode very repetitive and boring as fuck not to mention almost entire story mode was a fuckin filler a really bad filler...
@@hollowdream2315 the battle stages were boring and the only time I had to concentrate was on the two bosses at the end of the shadow arc however the shippuden arc was a really missed opportunity I feel like Bandai namco watched a few episodes but didn't finish the rescue gaara arc in fact the game just ends after you fight itachi you don't save gaara it kinda feels incomplete
Hey just wondering do you know if swap magic will work for ultimate ninja 5 on a North American ps2 console how did you play ultimate ninja 5 on your ps2 also great reviews on these games
If you live in North America, the only option you have is to buy a PAL-support Ps2, which will likely need international purchase, or if you have a Ps2 emulator, you can find BIOS online that'll allow you to play games released in other countries. You just have the right BIOS for the right region. Ultimate Ninja 5 was released in Europe, so if you can find Europe BIOS, you're good.
Also, if you have a PS2 that supports PAL games, you're good to go.

If I had to guess, it probably has something to do with the fact that Ultimate Ninja 5 has less modes than 4, since there's no equivalent to a Hero Mode in UN5.

It depends. If the dialogue is text-based with no voices like a classic jrpg, then I agree. When it's voice-acted, idk. It feels like I'm being tasked to control the pacing of the dialogue when it could have just been played out as a normal voice-acted cutscene.
you got kid hinata all wrong. she's one of the most broken characters on un 3. her medicine jutsu recovers her health and gives her multiple stat boost like attack up and speed up. her taunt also recovers health. you can chain her ultimate after most of her combo and her 64 palms gaurd is a great jutsu
I find her to be slow and her medicine Jutsu isn't very convenient unless your opponent still has to get up after getting hit because if not, you end up getting opened to being attacked. I have no grievances with her 64 palms guard, although it's a lot more effective in her Shippuden state because it's way more potent.
@@TwistedDanns if you keep your distance or knock the opponent down and use it it's really op. if you equip her with her hyuga taijutsu ultimate which gives her byuakugan mode shes op because you can chain it with her down directional combo or any combo that will cause the opponent to bounce.
That I actually agree. I don't necessarily think she becomes OP, but it's certainly true that once she awakens her Byakugan, she becomes much stronger and since you can unlock it with your first primary Ultimate, it makes it faster to activate it when compared to a lot of characters, but even then, I still think she's not a very optimal character to select, especially when compared to her Shippuden version.
@@TwistedDanns that's all that i do when i play when i play the game with my brother so she op in my op. she definitely isn't the most broken character in the ultimate ninja games that goes to curse mark kidomaru
Tenten is another broken character, who's essentially the ps2's version of a spammer, but without any combo restraints.
Thoughts on Ultimate Heroes 3 as that is technically considered to be Ultimate Ninja 6?
I tried emulating Heroes 3 a few years ago, but the ROMs didn't work for some reason.
Also, whether or not it's considered Ultimate Ninja 6 depends on how you categorize the games. Ult 4 and 5 and called Accel 1 and 2 in Japan and since Heroes 3 is called Accel 3, then I guess I can see the argument for why it should be called Ultimate Ninja 6, but since the Ultimate Ninja brand is a western thing, I think it would make more sense to categorize them based on how they were released in the west.
Fair thank you for the response. I think it is a decent follow up in the series minus the visual downgraded obviously. Haven't played in years but remember rather enjoying it.
Thanks for your review man. Was a perfect choice to review the 3 of them. I suddenly got super nostalgic about the series of how it used to be good before the final arc that I decided to play UN games. Goin to play just the 3rd one. Honestly wish there was a game just focused on the adventure mode like that, but with a better combat system ofc. Also I don't remember, but I think that 3 is the only one that lets you customize jutsus.
You can customize in 4 as well. I never really tried to do it in 5, so I can't confirm.

I wish I could play naruto ultimate ninja 5! Rn!! Too bad the kazekage rescue arc ended too early in the game and in the anime!!!! Too short of a good Naruto game!!!
That was Ultimate Ninja 4. In Ultmate Ninja 5, they went up to the Sasuke Reunion arc. No idea how hard it is to find UN5 nowadays, but I would say its a must purchase. If you can find it for less than 10 bucks, get it.
Im juss asking but did you happen to play the psp versions of the ultimate ninja series or narutimate accel 3 that continued the Shippuden story (not to completion?)
I tried, but iso file I had for accel 3 didn't work and since I don't own a PSP, there was no way for me to play it.

Accel 3 was trash it was so watered down compare to accel 2 sure the story was find but the gameplay was trash compare to accel 2 plus they took out a bunch of cool features in accel 3 including jutsu clashes and characters can only have 1 uj instead of 3 and cant use uj while in awakening plus they took out a bunch of cool characters from the previous game which sucked
Doesn't Accel 3 just retell the same story that Accel 2 did, plus maybe some portions of the later arcs and then original game story? I would barely count that as good story, especially when the presentation is so much worse.

Interesting question. Ultimate Ninja 4 does go a bit deeper in the adaptation of the first half of the Kazekage Rescue Arc and there are a few free roaming mechanics missing in Ultimate Ninja 4. Plus, there's Hero Mode that allows you to briefly relive Part 1, even better if you haven't Ultimate Ninja 3 yet. If you ask me, I would say yes, I recommend, but I will awknoledge that gameplay-wise, it's kind of the same but with a smaller roster.

The truth is that I can't say it well but the UN 4 as much as it seems like an unfinished version of the 5 has a special something that invites you to play it when you see some gameplay. I agree. I've played Ultimate Ninja 1 and 2 and I do think Cyberconnect2 improved a lot since those early games and out of the entire PS2 series, I think the last three and the most important to have.
@@TwistedDanns The UN 2 I think that if it had had one more extra it could also have been considered essential since I have heard many speak well of this game since they highlight its difficulty a lot but it lacks something to finish convincing at all.
The thing about Ultimate Ninja 2 is that I think it's better than the first game in terms of removing some of the more arcadey elements that kind of made the first game a bit annoying to play through and the story mode is also a lot better, I think doing a decent job adapting the later stages of the Chunin Exams and the Search for Tsunade arc. However, Ultimate Ninja 3 introduced a really fun tournament based story mode with an expanded open world that's fun to walk/jump around. Plus, it's more dynamic to play. I actually don't oppose buying UN 2. UN 1... eh...

I find 3 better than 5.
The characters are a lot more customizable.
I prefer 3's main story over 5's due to it being straight to the point. The free roam being in a seperate mode altogether helped me enjoy it due it not bogging down the main story like it does in future titles. At least Storm 4 fixed that.
But I do enjoy 5's method of unlocking Part 1 characters by hunting them down via the wooden doll quest.

If you have a ps2 from NTSC (North America) 4 is your only option, as 5 was only released in Europe and Japan. However, if you have a ps2 that’s a PAL or Japanese one, 5 is the obvious choice
