wow there is a reason its illegal to allow a crab pot to be exposed at low water . Not to mention the aount of dead goanna's and other Aussie wildlife I have seen in pots along the river I live on which is just across the bay fro where this video was taken. Not good fella's , not good at all
I understand the reason for the law mate but if I had dead animals and fish in my pots do you think I'd keep crabbing the same way? And the fisheries/water police obviously don't enforce the rule much because if you were a local you would know very well how many pro pots there are in locations that dry at low tide every day of the season
@@saltysouladventures 'if I was a local' .My family have been here since 1920 and i have been here all my life . And I never suggested that you'd keep crabbing after finding dead animals in your pots. And yes , I see a lot of dry pots in the area , I just haven't seen anyone break this law on youtube before . You can choose to learn from your mistake like we all often have to in life , or not .
@@markedward5941 I believe that your a local mate, there's not much incentive to lie about that, I was simply stating that if you lived in the area you would be aware of the number of illegally placed pro pots that are around
@@saltysouladventures all good , the ''if'' part did make me defensive but I'm all better now mate . It's the first time I have pointed out a flaw in a TH-cam vid but as a widlife carer who lives inside the boundary of a national park (private property has been surrounded by the park over the decades) I see exposed pots killing a lot of birds and goanna's etc so i responded thats all . Have a nice day and the rest of the vid I liked , as with the other couple I watched when a local mate put me into you blokes
@@markedward5941 no worries mate I completely understand where your coming from and I see the same thing with pro pots that are left unchecked for weeks on end with floating fish in them, cheers mate glad you liked them
Just come across your channel and subscribed straight away cheers 👍🍻🇦🇺
Cheers mate appreciate it 🍺
Great Vid guys 👍
and set pots in water as required by the regulations
What rules am I breaking? I'm not aware of any that say what I'm doing is wrong
@@saltysouladventures pots aren't supposed to completely dry at any stage of the tide
@@billmarsh7104 ok cheers mate do you know where I can find that in writing?
and it keeps the native rats, birds etc out, I have seen drowned rats, coots, crows, and and a hawk, that got into a pot that was dry at low tide
Yep it’s definitely the rule, can’t be out of the water at any time. Other than that, great vid 👍
