I know I’m replying to a 3+ year-old comment lol, but: some of my favorite Jimmy tone (also one of my fave tones in general) was in his ARU days in the 5 or so years post-Colonel. He was using Fender Strats almost exclusively at that time, at least for live stuff, & most of those had Lace Sensor singles in them (his go-to circa 1994-96 was a navy blue Strat with Lace singles). That tone was really the best possible blend of both worlds imo, had that clear, bell-like jangle with volume rolled off a bit but could get absurdly raunchy too. Noiseless as well, which is always nice.
is this song considered one of their better ones and concerts treats? i've always knew about WP, but never got into them too much, but heard this song a few weeks ago and cant stop listening and playing on guitar.
Its a bonafide WSP classic. Somewhat bittersweet considering it was written by their original lead guitarist Mike Houser who passed away from cancer in I believe in '02. And sung by him as well with guitar chops that served the song better than Jimmy's shredding, no disrespect Herrings magnificent. Hope that helps, I gone on too long!
My absolute fav panic song!!!
Mine too
Same
Great day to listen to a great jam!
I don't know how it could rain so long
All my love
Damn, Jimmy! Tearing it up!
Jimmy on single coils is always excellent. Wish he used them more but it’s a thick sound he’s gotta cut through
