Interesting he used snippets of film from the Dust Bowl tragedy of the 30's. It tested faith and family. I am glad to see you all picked that up right away. I have watched a lot of reactions on this one and it seems that is always overlooked or not understood.
Thank you for the reaction .. I’m really happy you like it! We’ve been lucky enough to see Hardy in concert three times so far and each time, he’s performed this and they do sound somewhat similar! Hardy has always said how proud he is of being a writer for this and also said it’s the first song he’s had a part of writing that went from the writing room to being cut and put out as a single within a week!
Blake is from Oklahoma and still lives there. I don’t know where the video was filmed but I am also from Oklahoma and I have seen dust like many times on the old dirt roads.
From what I understand, most of this was filmed on his ranch just outside of Tishomingo, OK. His other house is in the Caney Creek/Soldier Creek area on Lake Texoma/Red River, south of Kingston, OK.
Blake Shelton, does great work on this his type of music hasn't changed since he made it, he has had the new Nashville sound, has never really done any hard core traditional country music, but has a good sound to his music, but can relate to him both of us being from Oklahoma, I would like to request another Oklahoma singer Joe Diffee, the song is called "HOME" maybe you can do it, a really good song l. Thanks keep up the good work guy's
For a fun 'story' song, check out Blakes first hit 'Ol' Red'. Fun story & his mullet is epic. He's a baby in that one. LOL In fact he has a great song called 'The baby' which is very cool. He is also married to Gwen Stefani (from The band No Doubt) & they have some cool duets together. A beautiful one called 'Nobody but you' or a lighter fun one 'Happy anywhere' for starters.

Hardy co-wrote it with Devin Dawson & Jordan Schmidt. Devin is the high voice you hear singing Yeaaaaah after Blake sings Gods Country!
Love the shirt!!!!

Blake does have a similar vocal tone to Hardy. If you want to compare their sounds, there is an acoustic version of this with Hardy singing it.
hardy wrote it
