I went to Aldi and found 2 cases of ground beef with 9 packs each. That was 18 packs at $12.50 each. I kept 1 case and gave the other to a friend. I find so much goid stuff and it really helps feed my family of 7. I also recently found about 25 frozen pizzas at Dollar General. So much waste!!

Two of my favorite small appliances are my Ninja Foodi and my Insta Pot. For the top round beef, you might consider roast with carrots and potatoes (which I'm sure you'll find on a future dive!), Beef Stroganoff (there's your heavy whipping cream!), and a family favorite Beef Curry (again with carrots and potatoes). It's cold here in the PNW and I have a thing for comfort foods. So glad to see you posting again; you and all the girls were missed!

Wow, what a haul! I hit the Aldi dumpster the other day & got butter & a large beef roast also. And I got eggs, clementines, the biggest head of broccoli, and blueberries. I am transitioning my dogs over to real food, so they will get the beef, eggs, brocc & berries. Getting more food out of their dumpster now is the only thing that makes me happy it's winter, lol!! 😂❤

So excited for you. That's a great find. I have two suggestions for the pork roast. I take those and cut them into chunks, season for Mexican flavored meat. Spread them on parchment paper on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven. About 325 degrees is good. After they have cooked, I either shred them by hand, or use my food processor. We use this for tacos, enchiladas and burritos. The other way is to season the meat for BBQ flavored and after it's cooked, shred it, mix with BBQ sauce and make BBQ sandwiches. I do this when my local grocery has pork roast on sale for 99 cents a pound. Pork on its own doesn't have a lot of flavor, so you have to season pretty heavily. It also freezes well after it's been cooked and doesn't take up as much room in your freezer as the raw meat does.

Regarding the beef. I cut it in cubes and season it with a beef boullion powder and let it sit in the fridge overnight. I pressure can it the next morning in raw pack method. I also make single meals of cubed potatoes in the bottom of the jar and beef at the top and I can it that way with just enough water to cover the potatoes in the jar.

You could treat those two pork roast things whatever that is as I do pork butt when I find pork but I put it in the oven overnight at about 200 to 2:25 for minimum 12 hours with whatever seasoning you like it comes out so tender and then you can pull it apart as pulled pork and freeze it in smaller bags
The round steak you could cut into stew meat size I think it's pretty self-explanatory after that...

If you want a roast that falls apart in your mouth use a crock pot add a can of cream of mushroom soup and 1 pack of french onion soup mix. Let it cook 8 hours take out the roast and crumble ginger snap cookies in the juices and let it cook 10 to 15 minutes more. Put the roast back in and serve with mashed potatoes. OMG... what an AWESOME haul!! I saw all that pork roast and immediately thought of Cubano Sandwiches. What is in real Cubano?
The combination of flavorful, juicy pulled pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and Cuban bread makes this dish an undeniable hit. Although versions vary, the essential ingredient is the roasted pork, traditionally marinated in a mojo sauce redolent with orange juice, lime juice, garlic, oregano, and cumin.Sep 15, 2024 I have never made this and I don't eat meat, but I think I watched about 50 videos on how to make it. Enjoy your bounty. xo

Round roast taste great cooked in crock pot. An easy way is one package of onion soup mix, braze it first then add one pkg of mix and over top of roast and 3rd or half cup of water and cook on low all day. I do not use. How I do it is Braze the roast after you salt pepper, and add spices to it like garlic, etc. once brown throw in crock pot, then I add Worchester sauce to taste, rub mustard all over it, and horse radish, then again spices I like and add rosemary. Cut up and onion in thin sliced rings and separate them into rings than put on top. Put lid on it and cook from early morning until suppertime. Could also throw in instant pot. Can add carrots and potatoes to it too to bottom. The onion gravy mix taste great with diced potatoes on bottom. Leftovers become pot pie or soup, Shepard pie, creamed beef and gravy over potatoes, stew, roast beef with peppers for sandwiches, or B-que sandwiches add onion, peppers cook on low 3-4 hours in crock pot or on top of stove on low after shredding the beef with a fork. Can add beef, peppers, onions, jalapeno peppers slices and tomatoes cut up or canned drained, add 1 package of fajita seasoning cook on low all day or 4 hrs on high. Put on flour Torita's with sour cream and Alvacado. All can be cooked in oven until meat is done too. You have tons of meals with one cooked pot roast. Peace!

Round Roast/steak us tough so needs slow cooking in some way : you can cut up the round roast and use it for Beef stew: Bachelor Stew
From the Kitchen of: Rival Crock-Pot cookbook
    Ingredients: 2 lb. Beef Chuck
    1/3 cup dry bread crumbs
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/8 teaspoon pepper
    1 teaspoon leaf basil
    1/3 cup quick-cooking tapioca
1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms or stems & pieces
2 cans (10 3/4 oz. each) condensed Tomato soup
1 cup beef broth or water
1 large onion, cut into eighths
3 carrots pared, split lengthwise and cut into slices
4 celery stalks, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 potatoes peeled and sliced into pieces
1 teaspoon Worchester sauce or Kitchen Bouquet
Recipe instructions: Wipe beef cubes well. Combine bread crumbs with salt, pepper and toss with beef. (If you have an Instant Pot I would brown the beef cubes it does have a richer favor with the cubes browned). Place coated beef cubes in Crock Pot and other ingredients; stir well. Cover and cook on Low setting for 10 to 12 hours. (on high 3 to 4 hours).
I like to put it together in the evening and let it cook all night.

Dad's favorite Meal - From the Kitchen of: Alderson Family Favorite Meals
Pepper Steak: you can tenderize the meat with a meat mallet; sliced against the grain of the meat
    Ingredients:
2 to 3 Tbsp. Olive oil
1 lbs. participially frozen round steak or top sirloin steak cut into bite size strips
    1 Tbsp. of white wine
    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
3/4 cup beef broth or water & beef bouillon
    1 Tbsp. white wine
    1 onion slivered
1 to 2 green bell peppers sliced thin strips
Recipe instructions: Slice round steak into thin strips. Marinade in 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce , 1/4 cup soy sauce and white wine and 1/3 cup of the beef broth for at least a couple of hours if not overnight.
Brown a little in small amount of hot oil. Deglaze the pan with a little bit of white wine. Pour soy sauce and water over the meat. Turn to low heat and simmer until meat is tender. Then add onions and bell peppers cut into strips. Add more water if needed as meat cooks; not too much! Steam until tender crisp. a little bit of minced garlic and ground ginger rounds out the flavor profile and a corn starch slurry thickens up the sauce at the end or
Trim the fat from the round steak if any and slice thin strips. Brown the meat in 1 Tbsp. hot oil. Transfer to crock pot . Add any liquid froom the pan. In a bottom of crock pot combine 1 (14.5 oz.) can of stewed tomatoes (undrained), 3 tbsp. of tomato paste, 2 tsp. Italian seasoning, 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce. Top with 1 each of chopped: green, yellow and orange sweet pepper and 1 chopped small onion. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
For a Tony Bolony Shop sandwich use 6 Hoagie rolls cut in half. Butter. Wrap in foil. Warm in the oven . Divide meat onto the sandwiches and 1 cup ripe tomato diced
Serve over rice. Rice council: 1 cup rice to 2 cups broth, simmer 20 minutes without lifting lid. Set 5 minutes.
    or RICE PILAF:
Ingredients- 1/ cube of butter (1/4 cup)
    1 cup rice
    2 cups hot water
3 tsp. soup mix or 2 cubes bouillon
Chopped onion, celery, mushrooms, green peppers
Recipe Instructions: Brown 1/4 cup butter the chopped onion, celery, green peppers & rice then add the mushrooms; when lightly browned pour on 2 cups hot water. Add soup mix or 2 cubes of bouillon. Bring to boil. Turn down to low simmer, cover and cook 20 minutes. Set aside for 5 minutes.
