I went to Aldi and found 2 cases of ground beef with 9 packs each. That was 18 packs at $12.50 each. I kept 1 case and gave the other to a friend. I find so much goid stuff and it really helps feed my family of 7. I also recently found about 25 frozen pizzas at Dollar General. So much waste!!
Two of my favorite small appliances are my Ninja Foodi and my Insta Pot. For the top round beef, you might consider roast with carrots and potatoes (which I'm sure you'll find on a future dive!), Beef Stroganoff (there's your heavy whipping cream!), and a family favorite Beef Curry (again with carrots and potatoes). It's cold here in the PNW and I have a thing for comfort foods. So glad to see you posting again; you and all the girls were missed!
Wow...look at all that BEEF...what a score...and butter...Heavy whipping cream...Bacon too...lunch meat...chicken...Pork Roast...and again Beef...Definitely a fantastic food haul.!!
Wow, what a haul! I hit the Aldi dumpster the other day & got butter & a large beef roast also. And I got eggs, clementines, the biggest head of broccoli, and blueberries. I am transitioning my dogs over to real food, so they will get the beef, eggs, brocc & berries. Getting more food out of their dumpster now is the only thing that makes me happy it's winter, lol!! 😂❤
So excited for you. That's a great find. I have two suggestions for the pork roast. I take those and cut them into chunks, season for Mexican flavored meat. Spread them on parchment paper on a baking sheet and roast them in the oven. About 325 degrees is good. After they have cooked, I either shred them by hand, or use my food processor. We use this for tacos, enchiladas and burritos. The other way is to season the meat for BBQ flavored and after it's cooked, shred it, mix with BBQ sauce and make BBQ sandwiches. I do this when my local grocery has pork roast on sale for 99 cents a pound. Pork on its own doesn't have a lot of flavor, so you have to season pretty heavily. It also freezes well after it's been cooked and doesn't take up as much room in your freezer as the raw meat does.
Amazing haul! I have a Nuwave countertop oven and I cook a lot of meat in that and can cook it from frozen. It cooks perfectly! TFS Doll and hope all is well ❤️🌹
Oh, Cam, I saw someone canning butter on ut! Would never have thought of that. Sure would help those of us with tiny freezers. Must have butter at all times! 😂
Cook the roast in a crock pot with garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. The heavy whipping cream and butter make fantastic mashed potatoes. You can also use the cream in coffee and hot chocolate.
Regarding the beef. I cut it in cubes and season it with a beef boullion powder and let it sit in the fridge overnight. I pressure can it the next morning in raw pack method. I also make single meals of cubed potatoes in the bottom of the jar and beef at the top and I can it that way with just enough water to cover the potatoes in the jar.
You can make some goulash with that beef. Or if you have some beef chunks with more fat on it, you can mince it and then make pasta sauce or taco stuffing. You can also cut it into strips and put it into burito. 😊
Im involved with a children's home in South Africa. For us this would be an unbelievably generous donation...meat is always at a premium...to see this as a discard is just unbelievable! Kudos to you!
I love canning pork. It's similar to the chicken. But somethings it's not as good to make after. I love using it for pulled porch sandwiches, it's perfect after being canned!
You could treat those two pork roast things whatever that is as I do pork butt when I find pork but I put it in the oven overnight at about 200 to 2:25 for minimum 12 hours with whatever seasoning you like it comes out so tender and then you can pull it apart as pulled pork and freeze it in smaller bags The round steak you could cut into stew meat size I think it's pretty self-explanatory after that...
WOW!!!!! All that meat the top around roast are so gr8 jut for my husband n i am cut them in half same with the chicken breast pork roast not to crazy about but man you can cut them in 4’s or in 6’s for yourself or just do what you pressure cook them but real nice find
If you want a roast that falls apart in your mouth use a crock pot add a can of cream of mushroom soup and 1 pack of french onion soup mix. Let it cook 8 hours take out the roast and crumble ginger snap cookies in the juices and let it cook 10 to 15 minutes more. Put the roast back in and serve with mashed potatoes. My family cannot get enough of it honestly.
OMG... what an AWESOME haul!! I saw all that pork roast and immediately thought of Cubano Sandwiches. What is in real Cubano? The combination of flavorful, juicy pulled pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard, and Cuban bread makes this dish an undeniable hit. Although versions vary, the essential ingredient is the roasted pork, traditionally marinated in a mojo sauce redolent with orange juice, lime juice, garlic, oregano, and cumin.Sep 15, 2024 I have never made this and I don't eat meat, but I think I watched about 50 videos on how to make it. Enjoy your bounty. xo
If you are going to be doing some pressure canning, that beef could be canned also. I can alot of beef like that for beef stew, enchiladas, shepards pie..etc.
Invest in a crockpot for your beef and pork roasts. Just put them in the crockpot with some potatoes and carrots and add some chicken or beef broth, cook on high 5-6 hours and bam! Delicious and easy dinner.
Round roast taste great cooked in crock pot. An easy way is one package of onion soup mix, braze it first then add one pkg of mix and over top of roast and 3rd or half cup of water and cook on low all day. I do not use. How I do it is Braze the roast after you salt pepper, and add spices to it like garlic, etc. once brown throw in crock pot, then I add Worchester sauce to taste, rub mustard all over it, and horse radish, then again spices I like and add rosemary. Cut up and onion in thin sliced rings and separate them into rings than put on top. Put lid on it and cook from early morning until suppertime. Could also throw in instant pot. Can add carrots and potatoes to it too to bottom. The onion gravy mix taste great with diced potatoes on bottom. Leftovers become pot pie or soup, Shepard pie, creamed beef and gravy over potatoes, stew, roast beef with peppers for sandwiches, or B-que sandwiches add onion, peppers cook on low 3-4 hours in crock pot or on top of stove on low after shredding the beef with a fork. Can add beef, peppers, onions, jalapeno peppers slices and tomatoes cut up or canned drained, add 1 package of fajita seasoning cook on low all day or 4 hrs on high. Put on flour Torita's with sour cream and Alvacado. All can be cooked in oven until meat is done too. You have tons of meals with one cooked pot roast. Peace!
Last night my husband and I found 2 unopened cases of skinless salmon fillets, case of family pack skinless chicken breast, 5 whole Perdue chickens, 3 family size chicken thighes, 5 1/2 pound container hamburger meat, 2 1/2 container of hamburger meat, case of chicken tenders and a case of regular skinless chicken breast. Cook the roast in a crock pot with garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. The heavy whipping cream and butter make fantastic mashed potatoes. You can also use the cream in coffee and hot chocolate.
And you can make cream sauce and Alfredo using the heavy cream
I have one of the roasts in the crock pot now! Already smells great 😊
Fantastic haul.
Great finds tfs
Wow, awesome lucky lady!
Awesome. The heavy cream is great to make your own butter. Just make sure its room temperature before starting to whip it.
If I wasn't so old i be doing that.. good for you 😊 I'm so happy for you..
You can use some of the beef for Swiss steak, pot roast etc. just remember low and slow cooking. Amazing score!

I like to make butter when I find heavy cream on manager's special. Just put it in a jar and keep shaking. The butter milk will separate.

Even after 10 years of dumpster diving, the waste is still astounding, it just never makes sense
So glad to have you back
Thank you 😊
That's a fantastic haul! Aldi is awesome for dumpster diving and I think that Lidl is my favorite. God bless.
I hate the waste they produce, but I'm always happy to rescue it
I love spinach 🎉🎉🎉
Make creamed spinach with the heavy cream
I had that same thought as well, yum!
So glad you're back, Cam! What an awesome haul. Great variety. All the meat!!!

Donna, that sounds delicious! Thank you for researching that, I'll give it a try 😊
You could always make a vegan version by making a seitan version of the pork and then use the traditional seasonings to flavor it.
If you are going to be doing some pressure canning, that beef could be canned also. I can alot of beef like that for beef stew, enchiladas, shepards pie..etc.

Wow Cam this is one very impressive haul, have you ever tried banana sandwiches?, one of my favourite things to eat, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
I love grilled peanut butter and banana sandwiches 😋 Thank you Julie!
I would look on line for recipes and cooking meats
Make some beef jerky with a couple of those top round steaks.
That's a great idea! Round roast makes excellent jerky as it's so lean.
I was thinking of that! I'll look into how to do that
Grill roast in skillet cut in pieces.
Oven roast them cook and warm Apt at the same time
