Bro this is the best condensed explanation of this I’ve ever seen. Thank you! Been trying to figure this out for months haha But everyone sounds like they’re talking about rocket science!

I have no idea what any of that layout stuff meant but the way you described it made sense a little bit more... I'm still lost but less lost 😂

Very nice A.J. I learned about three months ago and layed out all new pieces Hy road pearl,Revenate,Tropical Surge,Hustle Wine 🍷 and Phase 5. Tropical 40×4and a quarter×30 and Revenate 50×5 and a half×45 and the other three my go to layout 50×5×40.Good video maybe I will say hi at the TOC.😊

Thank you for the clear and concise explanation. I just got a evaluation to KNOW my stats and a recommended ball layout. I was wondering if you could potentially confirm what type of ball reaction this layout should have.
My stats are: Ball Speed: 12 mph. Revs: 390-415. PAP: 6 5/8" right by 1/8" up. Tilt: 14 1/2°. Rotation: 32°
The ball I will be getting drilled is a Pyramid Pathogen Blue Dot (14 lb., polyester, RG: 2.48, Differential: 0.039, Mass Bias: 0.012 - yes, it is a plastic ball with a LARGE asymmetrical core)
The layout I was given was: 85° x 5" x 55° (I was just curious what type of shot shape this will give the ball.)
My number one ball right now is a KR Strikeforce Clear Rose, which has an extremely strong back end for me (high rev, low speed) - sometimes TOO strong. I will often throw my plastic on the same (and sometimes deeper) line as most resin bowlers, so it is hard to get the right equipment (and especially to have them drilled the right way).
Thank you for any insight you could provide.

What is the best layout for a rev dominate bowler? I think energy conservation is important. Please share your thoughts about a ball track that has long skid phase, short hook phase, and long roll phase.

On a symmetrical ball, the first angle doesn’t matter. Core position doesn’t change.

I still would like to understand the dual angle layout. The meat of the explanation was covered in the first thirty seconds and a rate of speech I could not understand.
So what I need to understand the rest of the presentation I was not prepared for.
It seems the basics are so boring that they feel it’s beneath them to show the ignorant. So we ignorants remain ignorant.

So the first number applies to asymmetric balls because it’s the angle for the mass bias of those types of bowling balls. The less that angle number the more that asymmetric part of the core swings away from the thumb or to the right of the pin and lays that core down which basically tells you how fast you want that ball to roll and start picking up or how early you want that ball to hook. Less angle good for more oil or speed dominant players who need the ball to get into a roll much faster or on lanes with a lot of friction that number should be much higher bring the mass bias very close to your thumb or down between your fingers which will delay the roll therefore the ball goes longer. The second number is how much flare the ball will have or how much of the bowling ball will see the lane. More flare means the ball is seeing fresh oil and grabbing more of the lane which is the same concept of how early you wanna get the ball to read the mid lane versus a bigger number in 5 inches the flares will be much tighter and less surface of the ball is being covered and even the oil will be on top of itself therefore pushing the ball further. So as you can imagine it’s good to have a good mix of the first two number the first angle and pin distance to create a look you wanna see both really relating to how early the ball will pick up, too much and the ball will not retain energy to go through pins and too little and the ball will go very long never picking up as well. The last angle is how the ball will react once it sees friction the smaller the number it will come off the friction really quickly almost like a hockey stick or check mark motion it’s so fast orrrr a bigger angle creates a banana type shape and it comes off the friction slower really creating a smooth motion. I hope some of this makes sense and if not please ask any questions as it’s really technical jargon.. it’s a reason it’s important the pso understands how you roll the ball to give you the perfect layout to benefit you.
