Chiwetel Ejiofor is a fantastic actor/singer. Well done on a great movie. It's a touchy subject but in this movie its carried out so well that all the family can watch and understand the true story.
I remember watching this for this 1st time, when he hits the floor, thinking: What happens now?! Fabulousness Happens! I loved the subversive "Business on Top/Kink Underneath" aspect of the Shirt/Tie/Jacket & Boxers & those Seriously KINKY Boots! My sister saw the Stage Musical 2 x in a row. Envious. The only thing better than the Milan Runway Scene is the end where you hear Joel Edgerton's Apology Message. Powerful & Uplifting.
my sister just twisted my ear into watching this tonight - LOVED LOVED LOVED the movie! normally i avoid anything "heartwarming" like it's hantavirus but i'm glad i watched it.

A movie that I could watch over and over. It is just funny and an enjoyable movie. We need more of those.... Love the music as well. I love the old landlady asking if he is a guy or not... Trust an old lady to be that funny and down to earth!

This is a fantastic film! A ordinarily stereotyped 'Chick Flick', but one I know guys love just as much! My boyfriend and me can watch it and enjoy it just as much! It's a whole different genre of film - a Guy Flick!
The only downside to this movie is the difficulty of explaining to someone else why they should watch it. "So... it's this movie about a shoemaker, and he meets a crossdressing boxer who's always breaking his high heeled shoes, and together they manage to save the shoe factory by preforming a dance recital. Through it all, the crossdressing performer teaches several people important life lessons as they learn to work together... what size straight jacket do I wear? why do you ask?" Good movie.
This is a scene I've watched over and over again...love the music, and the dancing. Xenxes, I wish you had been able to get the same clarity and quality as in the film, but it's better than nothing...and I appreciate the effort. Thanks!
