Ryan, I have a D15 with 3pt and Ive been wanting to add stabilizer bars , it only has chains so mower still flops around. Would like to see better how your stabilizers are mounted to mower and tractor. thanks
I grew up on and owned a lot of the old stuff on a decent sized dairy farm in upstate NY wd/wd45 , D series Allis Chalmers, old farmalls and the old John Deere 2 cylinders both letter and number series etc. my favorite tractors all had hand clutches or “power directors” ( aka the big stick lol ). If you learn how to operate them properly those old D series are a world beater they really lived up to their advertising hype. A big tractor in a small package with the traction booster when you understood and kept it set and working properly with the different field conditions they would do a lot of work in a days time and were pretty economical to operate and maintain as well.
Hey brother just got a 56' D-14 out the woods was sitting since 2005, quite a few things are stolen but I've found replacements. Also love the combat boots I got a pair of Belleville's myself. I was wondering if you have any info on the carb you're using and if you have any other odds and ends tips that'd be much appreciated! I'm using the ole fella to clear a real small field.
Enjoyed the explanation Ryan!! I do enjoy the orange as well , mainly whatever is cheap!! As I told Tim we did have a D15 diesel and a WD45 back in the day. I little unique to get used too, but very good machines. My dad wants and has always wanted a D19 diesel, so could be one in the future! I liked the explanation of the hand clutch!! Sounds like you have a great game plan and another good tractor in the arsenal! Thank you for bringing us along, and look fwd to more my friend!
@@mcleanfarmsryan3897 Thank you Ryan, that would be amazing!! I do wish now that I am doing the reclaim I had it back!! Hope all is well and look fwd to more!!
@@Pennies_on_the_dollar thanks Nelson some day I hope to have a full line of the allis d series being the d10 d12 d14 d15 another d17 but a early one that’s a diesel and a d19
I had a hard time reaching the foot clutch on our WD45, so it was always easy for me to lesrn to grab the hand clutch or range lever on our Allis. But the range lever on the 190 was not as essy to operate as the one on the D15. I see in vids that Allis kept that style when they redesigned from D17 to 170.
Yeah I had the problem of not being able to reach the clutch when I was littler now I am 6,2 and can’t find a tractor that fits me and is comfortable after a while
My old d17 was easy to operate the only thing I didn't like about it was the brake lock it had. Do you have a wd45 to do a similar video on? I'm getting the hydraulic pump for it soon so I'm hoping to get it to the field this year
Every one had there own prosses on the tractors my dad always wanted us to use the foot clutch it is cheaper and easier to rebuild but in reality it doesn't matter it was built to take it end of story 😆 just don't grind your gears, they were the best of the time period for sure way ahead of their time.
Week I always use it to shift but if I don't have a load I usually will start in high on hand clutch when I was younger I used the hand clutch alot lie you said, but after I fucked my back up It easier to use the for clutch alot of the time especially when backing up, which is what my dad always wanted us to do anyways lol

Thanks for the video.. looks pretty good 👍😎
Well yeah figure I should make a video while I was up putting the new stuff on
I always preferred using the power director to move. Easier on the foot clutch because it seemed to hold up better.
