"A lot" is a really subjective phrase depending on how you mean it. Devin clearly is just saying that less players play a long NBA career of 7-8 years at least than just making the NBA. He's right, there are many busts.
You and I heard him differently. I think he meant that sure, lots of guys make it to the league (for a minute) but he wants to have a career.
That's something that his coach this year, Kim English, talks about quite a bit- that guys are chasing the wrong dream. The dream should not be to just make it to the NBA, it should be to stay in the NBA.
