Not sure if it matters much here but 27:30 we could have cast Surgical hold priority cast Flusterstorm to make sure the last technique ended up in exile instead of the yard. Probably irrelevant but could technically matter if they find a way to shuffle back with Emrakul.
By my understanding of rules, you should be able to Chapter 1 Founding of the Third Path, then free-cast Petty Theft, but Chapter 3 wouldn't be able to target it. Because, Brazen Borrower isn't an instant nor sorcery in the graveyard that would be legal to target. But, you're allowed to begin casting Brazen Borrower as though it has the characteristics of Petty Theft, then Founding sees an instant with mana value 2, and lets you not pay the mana cost.
With chapter 1, yes. But you can't target it with chapter 3, nor modify it with, for example, Past in Flames. An effect or ability that allows it to be cast is fine, since it will be cast as an instant/sorcery. An effect or ability that targets or modifies instants or sorceries doesn't see it, because it isn't an instant or sorcery, except when it's on the stack, or being cast.
Thoughts before the league - I can imagine Hymn to Tourach would be fun in this deck, since it's an alternate way in the same spot of the curve to "attack a players lands"... But I just love attacking permanents and cards in hand, since the oppo has to make tough decisions about facing down that sort of volatility. Looking forward to this league!!!
19:00, not result oriented (still watching the game), I honestly think that you should keep the 3/2 shadow in play in order to put them on a strict 5 turns clock, you "upgrade it" for the 3/3 vigilance but it's easy for them to deal with the 3/3, just like it happened. As far as I know, stuck with blood moon they have close to no solutions to remove your 3/2 and you've a good amount of black cards that can help you even if they try to race. 3/2 in this case = a win very often in my books
14:08 I think you should've at least went to blockers before conceding to try to let your opponent punt here because if they block the bowmaster you had the 9 for Murktide.
33:33 The sadness here made me chuckle. I know the feeling when you have something not work how you planned (snapcaster on a force 🥲, casual enough play that I got to pick a different card but I still quickly lost to the card I was hoping to counter). Imagine if founding the third path could cast any one instant or sorcery in your graveyard without paying its mana cost as the third chapter. I wonder if there would be dedicated decks for it.
What if you made a Standstill deck with Bowmasters and Sheoldred where you could sometimes just cast a spell while you have Standstill up to do some damage?
Giving your opponent three cards that could potentially remove your threat or win the game - not ideal. The life loss is very unlikely to make up for that.
Sinkhole, to me, is one of those cards where, if you think it's at all playable in legacy, I have a difficult time taking you seriously...even in pox. Sorry pox, legacy has moved past sinkhole.
I was hoping for a stifle or two. I love watching videos where you cast that card. It’s like a kid in a candy shop when you get em.
I run it in some cEDH decks and it absolutely dunks on people's emotions.
@@HitzelI run it in non-C EDH decks, that’s the best way to make someone miserable.
"One natural Richard Garfield draw step per turn" is going straight into my vocabulary
I'm a simple man, I see sinkhole I send the link to 27 friends
This is the way
The way you delivered “Founding the Third Path. These are more Sinkholes.” had me dying 😆👌
Beautiful Friday morning and it only gets better when I check TH-cam at 10am and see SINKHOLE in the title❤
Can't wait to watch!

That's so crazy that you can keep a 4 land hand in Delver and get completely mana screwed
Theres something about dimir decks I love, it's always fun for me to see cool strategies from dimir.

Don't know if you looked it up by now, but you CAN cast the adventure part when an ability says you cast an instant or sorcery spell.

“The daze of our lives” was so unexpected. Absolutely killed me
Oops all sinkholes😮
My only regret is this wasn't released on May 5th, so we can't call it Sinkhole De Mayo.
I legitimately popped off when I saw the thumbnail
Sinkhole doing work in the Lands match up was so much dopamine.
Playing a 2/1 in this bowmaster economy ?!
Know what you mean. But let's see what he's cooking with.

Didn't even notice it's sinkhole de mayo again!
me at start of r1: the deck cant be that spicy
boy was i wrong: song of creation sheoldred
Still run a playset of these, along side Stone Rain, Ice Storm, and 2 Demonic Hordes in Old School

Wow I love hole! What a good video
Match 5 opponent had a cool deck.
Obligatory algorithmic contribution
I wanna see that hermit deck! that was awesome!
Man that first opponents deck was wild.
the latest hotness. if you have a leyline of the void or something they just empty the warrens, or bounce it, either way it's super resilient
@@sobman Yeah it's an overwhelming amount of angles, it's hard to know what to prepare for.
would it be any good to double down on mana denial and run some stiffles ?
3:44 why didnt you daze the chrome mox?

Would snappy not be better in the spelldancer slot?
Copying Sinkhole is great and all, but what if Mercurial Pox?
Questing druid is lowkey kinda busted in being a 3-for-1 if everything lines up well.
It feels to me like better goyf for legacy at least

Where's the scepter?
You had me at Sinkhole :D
Get in the hole, murph.
why only 3 sinkhole?
Your daily reminder they always have it.

@@tinyprince thank you. That’s why I ask these questions. No real experience in legacy.
Pls play r5 deck asap
It rubs the lotion on its skin or else it gets attacked for three again.
Sinkhole is literally banned in pauper because it's too annoying
Yeah it would be a huge problem in pauper haha
@BoshNRoll the professor back in the day, made a mono black ponza deck in pauper, and it was the most obvious thing ever
DON'T YOU WANT TO GO HOME??
