You know what this is making me think? We need an officially licensed "Aliens" survivor game. It would work so well. Heck, make it Aliens vs Predator, which would help explain why you have so many powers and weapons (as the Predator), fighting off an infinite amount of Aliens.
For some reason aliens games always either take way too long to come out, or there's issues during it's creation that make the game mediocre. I would love a game like that though.
Really any bughunt setting. Colonial Marines, Starship Troopers, Space Marines (all kinds), even honestly superheroes vs aliens, robots, zombies, monsters, etc. But keep the squad angle here. I think that is a really clever idea that has only scratched the surface (max squad size, upgrade progression, unit movement and organization, etc).
That's a baddass idea and each hero can just be a yautja from a different clan specializing in diffrence shit like flamethrowers or more melee focused 🤔
Right now, this game is pretty crap. There's a dozen better Bullet Heavens out there. Army of Ruin is FANTASTIC and a giant step up from Halls of Torment, possibly the best BH in existence right now. But this Zombie one? No. It is nowhere in the ballpark. Play Army of Ruin and get shocked.
I really hope they gives us the option for manual aiming cause sometimes I feel like enemies just get to walk freely up to me and hit me before the auto aim reacts to them
Graphics are a bit meh, but maybe it could work out if they just pixelate it in post processing like ultrakill or prodeus. It would hide a lot of the ugliness.
Tried it out for about 6 hours. Currently, game is heavily linear. Can't progress out of sheer luck, you literally have to get Shop perks trough grinding and unlock better weapons for each mercenary one at the time. Even if you get BiS team with right upgrades its not a guaranteed survival. You have to lean into "Happiness" stat for luck of acquiring Shield/Health packs for the last 3 minutes of the run and hope to stall out. Each mercenary has an unsatisfying way of upgrading their power. It lacks surprise elements of rapid efficiency (outside of exp boost) so each run ... almost feels the same due to verified efficiency and build path. Game design, movement, animations, ui, even assets feel super polished and pleasant, heavy mobile game vibes which is not a bad thing when it comes to visual impression. Also there were few bugs i encountered while playing. Elite hp bars would sometimes stay up in the air, even after i started a new game till i had multiple. Locust elite at certain range would cause mercenaries to freeze up and stop shooting.
@6:30 Dunno if you ever messed with 20 Min Until Dawn's endless mode, but to make it different from normal gameplay each upgrade can be taken up to 3x each. The end result can be like Shana's perk, but it takes manually finding and choosing them multiple times over. Just throwing that out there as an endless mode that did something different than infinitely looping the same waves. :)
Not a huge fan of the colour palette. Everything clashes with everything. It reminds me of Killing Floor a little bit, which I felt the same way about. Still good fun though.
It really has a "euro game" feels. Overly slow, with very tiny bullets weapons, few enemies with a lot of health, camera too close to action... They took everyting cool about the genre and made it worse. It's the opposite of Halls of Torment.
If you were to compare this game to Soulstone Survivor, which one would you say is more worth it's money / polished? Since the grafic style is very different I mean more from a gameplay point of view. Out of sale they both cost roughly the same (9,99€).
These games don't work in 3d because the amount of enemies that you need to render to make the game truly satisfying isn't possible in 3d. Nice paid advertisement though.

A good idea wood be to add different game modes, like tower defense, ir mix them together. I see a lot of potential here. I saw the party member system on another game, Elemental Survivors. It's still in the alpha, youtubers get access to it and there's a demo. Another thing it has, is the usual rpg stat sytem, and the weapons scale with different stats. But it looks too cheap in my opinion. Funny thing is, i only watched a video about that game because it's name was something like "i found the dex based ring..." I thought the dev made a ring referring to you, but turns out that it was only the dexterity stat... But holy moly, i expect a series made of this game! I really don't have the time to play a lot, so it's nice to see someone diving in without any prior experience, but then still breaking the game like i would as well. Apreciado mucho! Edit: there was even garlic mentioned in the title, i was honestly disappointed as it turned out it meant dexterity. And it's not isometric, it's real 3d i think.
It's great, but it really annoys me that my previous save content cant be transferred. Tons and tons of enemies killed in the trash, and it's rough starting back from the first three from scratch
I'm not a fan of zombie games and I've been a bit burned out on survivor games since my holocure 100% grind a few months ago but... this looks awesome. I'm excited to try it out, the graphics are pretty awesome.
I have a video request: You should start making Soulstone Survivors limit brakes by just taking the same weapon only and testing how good they are if limit broken.
I like the general aesthetic of halls of torment better. But I do like the fast pace and modern action shooting YAZS has. I generally like the way YAZS has unlocks as well. But man they really need more music that cycles with each map or attempt (kind of like killing floor 2). just because the same song gets a little tedious. Even though the song is pretty good.

This is the first one that I've seen to have additional character act as a new weapon, (there's probably others that have done it already.) So I thought to give them some point for the idea.

They have to put arrows in to get you to move around the map otherwise it would be pointless and you would just stay put running in a circle zzz
I think they should reduce the light flashing on leveling up a little. It's a bit too over the top.
