I was wondering if i should put "aunt lily and uncle jack" or just lily and jack or nothing at all?!

While "one event per invitation" is correct; technically people at the ceremony are witnesses, not guests. You don't invite them, but instead tell them that you would be honored by their presence. The reasoning here is that for a religious ceremony God is The Host, not you. So inviting people your reception and including a ceremony card is probably easier to put together, as there is more info needed for the celebration, info like what sort of party to expect and RSVP contact line. Surely guests want to more than "reception to follow"?

Almost none of the weddings I do anymore follow any religious traditions!
Also I totally agree that more info and more cards is preferable, however a lot of couples are looking to save money and/or paper so a “reception to follow” option is great for a standard wedding flow where ceremony is directly followed by reception that includes standard activities in the same location! They often put more info on the website!
