do you do jewelry type work cutting non ferrous metal wire? that is where I recognize Lindstrom products from. I have not purchased (any) of their cutters since I would probably drop them onto a concrete floor. best wishes!

the question I have is whats the point? worst case scenario where you chip or roll the edge, it only takes a few passes with a file, then a few passes with a strop to make them better than new. I bought a pair of nippers on special on Micro Mark a few years ago (not the Micro Mark brand though). They were of the stamped metal type and weren't that good, so I took a file and made them into near perfect nippers. Filing just makes more sense in my mind too.
The only other alternative I can think of to solve your issue with the screw being in the way is to put the screw on the other side and have a threaded plate that compresses down onto the blade. The plate would probably have to be pretty thick to not only have enough thread for the screw to grab onto, but also to provide even pressure on the blade. Unfortunately a design like this would probably be more expensive compared to this screw setup as well, but the blades should still be compatible assuming the pressure plate can provide even pressure. Either way, having replaceable blades makes sense, especially if you use them for heavier duty uses like how I do 3D printing and often need nippers like this.
Oh yeah, the brand is called "Plamokojo" from Japan (I can't find the details but it does NOT seems like a chinese brand pretending to be Japanese brand). They produce quite a selection of products Some of them are... weird... but practical

I found that the Godhands nippers work great, but I have bend the cutting blade on the two of them I have bought, so am looking for a cheaper alternative. This seems like a good option. With the spare blades, you end up with four nippers.

Interesting concept. I've seen something like this popping up everywhere recently, so wonder if others have copied this? My only problem with this is the proprietary blades, a standard scalpel or xacto blade type would have been better, but probably require a very different blade retention system. Personally i favour swan morton handles and blades for the cutting and xacto for tougher jobs, very easily and inexpensive to source in the uk.
Just complained in your other video how was this not invented yet, and now here it is! Would be even better if it would use regular crafting blades, not just own branded special ones.
I couldnt find any reviews for this nipper and had to cancel my preorder for these on HLJ back then but thanks to your other vids I got the Hobby Mio nippers instead since I couldn't find the Dspiae ST-A nippers. I have yet to test the Hobby Mio nippers myself but I love the Dspiae nippers!
currently now i'm using manwah single blade nipper , it's about $15. And yes for this two years still great, a little rusty, and of course it's disposable, and very very tolerable nub mark. but as always, nice video as always, keep up doing this review, hope your channel getting bigger audience, let's go 100k
Been using Godhands for 11 years and the newer stuff barely comes close. On 11 year old GHs that have who knows how many MG and RG kits on them. Fresh back in 2013? They made all the competition look like Xurons. Thing is, GHs used to be small batch, hand sharpened nippers. The OG model was SPN-120S. Those were the ones that built all the hype. You could even send them back to get your pair re-sharpened. They stopped hand sharpening them and the newer model, SPN-120, wasn’t as sharp as the SPN-120S.
It's not bad value, I mean the nipper comes with a blade attached, and the even getting the replacement pack of three, I think it good value, its like buying 4 nippers in one. Good review.
It seems that if that company had put in a counter sink for the screw it would have given the screw a more flush look and that bulge wouldn’t exist. Nice demonstration as always.
$39 isn’t expensive. It’s the same price as dispea. And cheaper then god hand. And those are the two best nippers on the market. So reusable ones for the price of dispea sounds pretty good.
Great video, couple of questions because i dont have the godhand or these nippers with the replaceable blades. Question one are both of these including the replacment blades sharpened on both side of the cutting edges or only sharpened on one side with the other side being flush wirh the work piece. Question 2 does anybody know what grade of steel these are like is it tool steel, forged, high carbon steel that has been hardened and quenched, alloyed steel like 8620, 4340, 1018 or are they stainless steel like 304 basic grade magnetic stainless steel or 316 non magnetic high nickel chromium correction resistance. Am a metalurgist and was just wondering.
You should buy a Rockwell hardness tester to test the hardness of steel. The quality with Nippers is largely based on the steel and heat treatment, which is impossible to test without extensive testing, or a hardness test. My current pair of Godhands have been going for over two years and are still super sharp. It made me a bit nervous seeing these were made in China, even though having Japanese branding.
I'm thinking I probably wouldn't get these for warhammer as the tip isn't tapered enough to really get into the curvy and awkward angles you often get from their sprues. But, nice concept
the brand is 'plamokojo'. it's actually not an expensive brand in Asia where it's from. I have 2 of the vortex mixer and they're half the price (US$50) shipped. this isn't a very good test of the nippers as the parts tested have pretty good (small) injection ports. test with poorly engineered kits or on the sprue themselves for a better indication
I am constantly on about why can't tools have replaceable blades! Look at how much steel you have to throw away when they get some nicks in the blades! I wonder how these would do copper wire?
Wire would destroy them, those things a nipper versions of scalpels. They have replaceable blades because even using them on plastic will dull them fast.
Godhands are still a better buy imo, granted they are taken care of they won’t need to be replaced, and I don’t have a bolt preventing me from optimal use. It’s probably just the price tag but maybe a future version of that will see some changes that’ll make it worth buying? Nice vid Rex 🙌🏼

Respect, Robert, but - when a new cheap pair from H/L for 6$ will get me by a couple months... as long as we modelers pay attention to snip quality and watch for signs of dulling, well... call me Cheap. I won't flinch. 😉
I don't see what makes the difference I use a cheap pair of wire nippers that I get at Walmart and I have never had a problem cutting my parts off and I still have to use my hobby knife or sanding stick to make it smooth I don't need a pair of $20 to $40 Nippers and I have been Modeling for 60 some years and Mr. ED says just have fun modeling
Fifty bucks for four nippers? Thats relatively inexpensive all things considered. Replace the screws because they tend to strip upon the removal, like a one-time use screw. Thanks again for pointing out more tools for the bench.
IMPORTANT! They want you to replace the screws because they tend to strip. Specially when they're this small. They will not take you seriously you call them for stripped screw issues. It cost less for them to provide screws that replace nippers!
This product makes me wonder if japanese also break their godhands on accident... Probably more to do with the fact that nippers do lose sharpness over time and godhand no longer offers their sharpening services.
@discrtidunkwn Corona AC 8300. Learn how to use it and practice, practice, practice. Start with garden tools, scissors, knives. I use it on my DSPIAEs all the time when they become dull. I watched videos on knife sharpening techniques.
I tested these a while ago and they're just not as good as other single blades nippers. No matter how I adjust the blades it is basically impossible to get a perfectly flush cut. Not sure if mine just came misaligned or what not, but the blades would just not sit in the right spot so tey're always off by 1mm or so and leave a decent bit of nub still on the kit. The bit advantage of single bladed nippers is their ability to cut down on prep time by making it so you don't have to shave the nub off with an x-acto, and can just skip to sanding the part. If these can't do that then in my opinion they're just a waste of money. Worth noting that you don't seem to have a similar problem with yours, but i've seen at least one other pair with the same problem.

looking at the design and the way we generally wanna be cutting off the nubs they shoulda put the blade screw on the top of the nippers, good concept slightly poor execution
I'm sorry for being so negative, but just wanted to give an opinion from someone who has used these nippers for the last few months. I too was impressed on first use, but they go down hill pretty quickly. I live in Japan, and they are sold under different names and at different price points on Amazon here. But they are all the same, with only a different name etched on them. I think they are pretty hit and miss quality wise. The replacement blades are low quality, chip easily, and need replacing quite often. They also use crappy screws that strip easily, making it hard to replace the blades. They have mostly 1 or 2 star reviews on Amazon Japan. I noticed on Amazon USA all the five star reviews are from Vine customers who got them for free. Might be a coincidence. BTW that new purple is awesome!
I got this a months ago. and actually this is an ok nipper. the godhand ultimate is a lot better than this one but this is just my humble opinion. I pick this ones when i dont want to waste the sharpness of the godhand.
I lived in Malaysia, i bought my nipper in a cheap DIY shop. It cost MYR3 which is less than USD1. It cuts really close & really clean. Rarely leaves white spot. Been using for 3 years and still sharp. I think all this "God Hand" thing is just a waste of money than quality. I mean, you still need to clean & sand after using the "God Hand". I don't have to clean anything with my nipper because it's really clean, flushed, smooth with no white spot. What's my nipper's name? I don't know. No name. Packed in cheap plastic sheet. Cost less than a dollar. 😅

SD kits do not have standard gates and nubs. The parts are meant to snap off and do not have room for hobby nippers to cut properly.
Question is, if the replaceable blades have the same hardness as regular nippers. Otherwise, they could be more expensive in the end.

You should never be cutting directly next to a piece in any case, that's a peak rookie mistake. Especially not with sharp single blade side cutters.
I just acquired but haven't used the USAGS branded nippers. How do these replaceable blade nippers compare for cut quality?
The USAGS are less sharp but good, you should be using them for the first cut then your best pair for the closer cut (never flush).

One side is flat and acts as an anvil. The replacement blade is the actual cutter.
