Why do the Igbos observe onwa asa, the seventh and also the first month? Where did they get it? Am not aware of any other ethnic group in Nigeria that observes it. What about the Aros amongst the Igbos who tell us they are descendants of Aaron. How come the Sacred Stone of the Aros is inscribed with the Hebrew tetragrammaton YHWH? Go to Arochukwu and see it for yourself.
The fact that you are a historian does not mean you know all histories. Certainly, you are no expert on the Jewish and biblical history, history of modern Israel or ancient Near East.

    Bro,
This whole thing is absurd. They often claim that Ikwerre groups like Ahoada and Ogba have primary
links with the Bini. But they refuse to read even the quite recent memoir of Solomon Akenzua, the Oba (Erediuwa) of Benin, a descendant of Eweka 1, who was a district officer in Ahoada from 1954-1957. What he had to say about Ahoada and the Igbo and how that fits into their Ikwerre narrative. And because, Akenzua's account fundamentally contradicts their claims, they avoid it and continue with their ahistorical bla bla bla hoping that by repeating the same false narrative several times it will become the truth. Most Igbo do not listen to the clap-trap and for those who do, it is like another comedy show i.e. a low budget version of Chief Zebrudaya & Ovuloria of the New Masquerade, utterly hilarious.

1 how come about your claimed lkwere language are 99% similar to Igbo language.

Lastly, there are hundreds of Igbo words which are similar to Hebrew. I will give two examples: anya(eye) = anyin; bia(come) = bo. Time and space will not permit to go on. I was taught Hebrew by Hebrew scholars in America. I have also been to Israel on two separate occasions. Some of my classmates were Israeli Jews like Meno and Hezie of blessed memory. An Igbo man or an Ikwerre man who reads the OT immediately knows there is a link between Igbos and the Jews. Saying do Igbos speak Hebrew is no argument at all after thousands of years of migration and separation. Every spoken language is living and changes with time even when the people have not migrated.

My dad is from Enugu state, and my mom is Ika from Delta state, part of what is known as Delta Igbo.
These lines of thinking by the gentleman who made this video isnt new to me. From my mothers side of the family, I have some family members who would insist that they arent igbo. But rather that they originate from the Benin kingdom.
And just like this man, they'll say the names they bear and the language they speak, arent igbo but instead Ika.
When you ask them how come neither their names nor language have any correlation with Edo, the language of the binis, its crickets. They'll simply insist that you accept that their languages aren't igbo simply because they say so, despite the 100% correlation with igbo in terms of names and meanings, and the greater than 90% correlation in terms of language.
The Ikwere people are exactly in the same situation. The Irony is that ikwere dialect of igbo has a higher correlation to central igbo that several igbo dialects from igbo states like Enugu, Abia, and Ebonyi.
No matter what you say about your names, titles, and language not being igbo but Ikwere instead, in an intellectual setting with serious minded people, you would look foolish trying to explain how they aren't igbo with which they have 100% correlation, but are edo with which they have 0% correlation.
Just because a bunch of Ikwere chieftains came together in 1957 to declare that Ikwere people arent igbo doest change the heritage of ikwere people. Its locked-in and sealed in your names, titles, language, customs &traditions, proximity of your homeland with the igbo homeland, and dna. All the proclamations of those chieftains ammounts to, is politics. If you doubt me. Speak to any anthropologist in the world worth his salt.

@@chineduamadi5958 Hence you seems to know a lot and concluded by language correlation. How come you're not an English man hence you speak English language fluently? What it means, is language alone it's not enough to identify an ethnic groups. U also failed to realised that the Igbo language was created by the British, promoted around the Eastern and Southern environ to populated that region to Eastern in other to balance the it's power with North and Western of latter colonized Nigeria. Go back and find how the Igbo language was created. Go back and get the first Africa maps. Igbos have suddenly discovered that their only blockage is the Benin, a well documented ancient kingdom. So, they have gone far and near to fabrication stores in order to recognized other tribes to their interests. Majority of Igbos speaking individuals known that they are not Igbos by blood but by similarly language.

Oga with all due respect, no body is trying to remove your ikwereness in you rather we want you to understand that as you are ikwere man ,so also that other people like Ngwa people Nssuka people, Awka people, ika people, Ukwuani people Mbaise people,Abriba people and so on and so forth. Igbo is just the language that all this people speak..The fulanis from all over Africa, have their respect Dialects eg The Fula, the Bororo, the wori, the mandigo, the nigeria Fulanis and so on but because of political numerical strenght they come together under one umbrella as Fulanis from allover africa .They have different Dialects like us but because of the political advantage they have in their unity, they stick together. But you want to continue to keep your ikwere down political by going it alone. This is the singular reason why the British were able to conquer our forefathers because they were fighting colonialism not as a unified force rather by dividing themselves into different Clans and negotiating seperately. In this 21st century we should learn to be wiser. We speak the same language in our different dialects,we have the same culture and tradition, we answer the same names, I mean this is enough reason to show that we are the same people. Your progenitors like Akalaka, and Eze chima who migrated from Benin are all igbo names which have igbo meanings. That alone shows that they are igbos who surgeoned in Benin at the peak of Benin kingdom reign but later relocated back to their original home when their stay in Benin kingdom is no longer favourable simple. Please Oga this is twenty first century, we must understand that their no gain in diving ourselves in bits rather we stand to gain more by making ourselves bigger for political and economical purposes.

The very word "Ikwerre" is an Igbo word meaning "Do you agree". It was the question the Igbo interpreter asked the Inwhuruhohna indigene of what the white man had asked. The white man could not pronounce Inwhuruhohna so he chose Ikwerre and the name stuck. When people migrate, they carry their language in their heads which cannot be lost. Anthropologists have shown that the Malays of Malagasy speak a close language related to the people of Indonesia , 1,500 miles of waters away where they immigrated from. Why has the Bini language been absent in the Ikwerre language? There are 496 Igbo dialects and Ikwerre is one of them.

the vast majority of Igbo people would TOTALLY REJECT any inclusion of Ikwerres in the Igbo region in any shape or form.
